Erev Shabbat Kodesh
Parashat Lech Lecha
Excerpted from Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin's Insights in the Torah on Lech Lecha...התהלך לפני והיה תמים - Walk before Me and be perfect. Publicize My Name in this world, as you have been doing until now. This may require you to meet and debate idolaters and heretics, to listen to their distorted views about God in order to make them aware of the truth. Such arguments could possibly taint your perfection. But strive to eradicate them completely, both them and their views, and you will remain "perfect," a tzadik of perfect faith!ויפל אברם על-פניו - Abram fell on his face: Abraham's life goal was to bring all the nations to faith in the Living God. As is known, he would attract passersby by offering them drinks, and then some would heed his call to convert. But, when he heard the new condition for conversion, namely circumcision, he was seized with trembling, for henceforth his goal would be beyond reach. What fool would listen to him to undergo an operation on his own flesh? Abraham fell on his face in great anguish, like a man whose ship had sunk at sea. This is what is behind Chazal's statement (Breishis Rabbah Ch. 46), "Before I underwent circumcision they would come and join me, but who will come now that I am circumcised?" God answered him:אני הנה בריתי אתך - As for Me, this is My covenant with you. I do not need a lot of "converts", who come to "look for God" among the food and drink, and who are unwilling to shed their blood on the altar of faith. It is sufficient for Me that you keep My covenant. I am content to have one believer like you, who goes through fire and water to sanctify My Name."If you accept circumcision upon yourself, then you and I shall suffice for the world" (Tanchuma, Lech Lecha 24). And although "The king's glory is in great multitudes" (Mishlei 14:28), those multitudes would emerge from Abraham himself, who was destined to become "father of a multitude of nations" (17:5).והקמתי את בריתי ביני ובינך - I will ratify My covenant between Me and you. But do not fear that you will remain the only believer in the world. I promise that the covenant will also apply to "your offspring after you throughout their generations" (ibid.).

What is the world coming to?
Anonymous@10:42AM, "the Ohr Torah Stone network" is the worst. It is the foremost and premiere missionary organization for assimilation in the entire land. Everyone associated it with it ahs one goal - to mix Jews with gentiles. It's ironic that it puts "Torah" in its name because that's as far as it goes with them.
ReplyDeleteWhat is most insidious about all these movements to bring us together with goyim in this generation is their claim that the redemption is here and the Torah has to change to reflect that changed reality.
In fact, once redemption does arrive, the Torah will be more strictly enforced than it ever was before.
It probably gets funding from Soros and the NIF
ReplyDeleteI so the video. If this is true, the world is in big trouble. It’s like a reproduction Of mitzraim slavery, but this time world wide, and it’s a slavery of the minds, not of the bodies.
ReplyDeleteSo what do you suggest can we do? Teshuva of course.Pray for mashiach. But is there something else?
No, drbsd. There is nothing else. As you point out, just like in Mitzrayim. We can't save ourselves from this. HKB"H is the only one who can deliver us from this evil plan and HE WILL through the agency of his appointed servant - the Mashiach - a man like Moshe Rabeinu.
ReplyDeleteAlso, add to teshuva and prayer for Mashiach, as always, Torah, mitzvot, acts of kindness, strengthen our faith in HKB"H and His promises. DEPEND, DEPEND, DEPEND ON HKB"H! And enjoy what freedoms you still have while you can. Thank HKB"H every day!!
ReplyDeleteI believe it’s true. I start felling it at the end of February. Even before the Corona age started. BH I made it to Eretz Israel. I feel a strong surveillance here. I’m just pretending everything is as usual and that life will return as before (which I understand it’s not possible, and in fact the world is, and was in a terrible situation, morally speaking, like the times of the Mabul or Sedom and Amora). But people around me are not prepare to listen. I am talking about my wife, an eshet chail, and my companion or one of my sons a bajur yeshiva, half a man and half a child, full of dreams. So as you said: Torah, kindness, emuna, dependence on HKB, thank Hashem. And I will add try to strengthen the spirits of people around me. Everyone will adapt at its own pace.
ReplyDeleteVery wise.
