Imagine a World Without Oil

According to most sources, the world has passed "peak" oil. As world demand rises, supplies are dwindling. What's left in the ground will cost more and more to retrieve, meaning if you can get it at all, it will be increasingly more expensive. However, the day will not be far off when there won't be any left. So, imagine if you can, a world without oil....

The Imminent Crash Of Oil Supply: Be AfraidBy Nicholas C. Arguimbau
...The supply of the world's most essential energy source is going off a cliff. Not in the distant future, but in a year and a half.

...we have:

> zero time to plan how to replace cars in our lives

> zero time to plan how to manufacture and install milions of furnaces to replace home oil furnaces, and zero time toproduce the infrastructure necessary to carry out that task

> zero time to retool suburbia so it can function without gasoline

> zero time to plan for replacement of the largest military establishment in history, almost completely dependent upon oil

> zero time to plan to support nine billion peolple without the "green revolution," a creation of the age of oil

> zero time to plan to replace oil as an essential fuel in electricity production

> zero time to plan for preserving millions of miles of roads without asphalt.

> zero time to plan for the replacement of oil in its essential role in EVERY industry.

> zero time to plan for replacement of oil in its exclusive role of transporting people, agricultural produce, manufactured goods. In a world without oil that appears only twenty years away, there will be no oil-burning ships transporting US grain to other countries, there will be no oil-burning airlines linking the world's major cities, there will be no oil-burning ships transporting Chinese manufactured goods to the billions now dependent on them.

> zero time to plan for the survival of the billions of new people expected by 2050 in the aftermath of "peak everything."

> zero capital, because of failing banks and public and private debt, to address these issues.

But, realize, too, that this means the end of Yishmael's power in the world!

They're Already Dividing Jerusalem!

Zechariah - Chapter 14
1. Behold! A day of the Lord is coming, and your plunder shall be shared within you.

Rashi: and your plunder shall be shared within you: Those dwelling within you shall share the plunder that you shall plunder [from] the enemies.

2. And I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to wage war; and the city shall be captured, and the houses shall be plundered, and the women shall be ravished, and half the city shall go forth into exile-and the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Rashi: and the rest of the people: Not all of them will be exiled. Now, why will He permit them [i.e., the gentile nations] to exile half of them and to plunder the houses? So that they should not have an excuse, saying, “We have not come for war, but we have come to prostrate ourselves.”

3. And the Lord shall go forth and wage war with those nations, like the day he waged war on the day of the battle.

Rashi: like the day he waged war on the day of battle: Like the day He waged war on the Red Sea.
When you see everyone coming down on Jerusalem, know that the end is very near!

Not Just Volcanoes ...

"QUIET" SUN: The sun has been without spots for ten consecutive days, prompting some observers to label the sun "quiet." But just how quiet can a 10 (to the 27th power) ton nuclear explosion actually be....

POISED TO ERUPT: Already this month, the sun has produced two of the biggest eruptions in years. They occurred on April 13th and April 19th when magnetic filaments became unstable and exploded. Could it happen again today? A prominence on the eastern limb of the sun (photo) resembles the precursors of those two earlier blasts.

What is 'Eisav' Up to Now?

Pretty much the same old, same old, just different names and different terminology. But we have to keep up with it all. "Eisav soneh et Yaaqov." That never changes. It is war and we have to fight it.

Once again, we are indebted to the astute reporting of Rachel Tabachnick. Please read it through to the end,....

What's Up?

Mashiach's Wife speculated that something big may occur with Iran around the middle of the month of Iyar. Well, that's one week away! It does seem that every other statement coming out of Jerusalem and Washington is about Iran these days. Tension is definitely building.

(CNN) -- Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps is expected to begin air, land and sea exercises in the Persian Gulf perhaps as soon as Thursday, according to Iran's IRIB news agency.

A U.S. military official separately confirmed to CNN that the United States has observed in recent days Iran is "relocating surface and air assets" for what appears to be a major exercise. The official did not want to be identified because of the sensitivity of the issue.

Ex-US Envoy Indyk: Bibi’s Refusal to Obama ‘Threatens Alliance’
Martin Indyk, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, castigated Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in The New York Times and on Israel’s IDF Army Radio, saying the prime minister prefers a nationalist government over being friends with the United States.

“Netanyahu must make a choice: take on the president of the United States, or take on his right wing,”....

Would it do any good, do ya think, to remind the Ex-Envoy that the Prime Minister of Israel was elected by the right-wing to be the leader of Israel, not the lacky of the United States President?

State of Israel 1948

"...The British tried to work out an agreement acceptable to both Arabs and Jews, but their insistence on the former's approval guaranteed failure. They subsequently turned the issue over to the UN in February 1947.

The UN established a Special Commission on Palestine (UNSCOP) to devise a solution. Delegates from 11 nations* went there and found what had long been apparent: The conflicting national aspirations of Jews and Arabs could not be reconciled.

Although most of the Commission's members acknowledged the need to find a compromise solution, it was difficult for them to envision one given the parties' intractability. At a meeting with a group of Arabs in Beirut, the Czechoslovakian member of the Commission told his audience: "I have listened to your demands and it seems to me that in your view the compromise is: We want our demands met completely, the rest can be divided among those left."

When they returned, the delegates of seven nations — Canada, Czechoslovakia, Guatemala, The Netherlands, Peru, Sweden and Uruguay — recommended the establishment of two separate states, Jewish and Arab, to be joined by economic union, with Jerusalem an internationalized enclave. Three nations — India, Iran and Yugoslavia — recommended a unitary state with Arab and Jewish provinces. Australia abstained.

The Jews of Palestine were not satisfied with the small territory allotted to them by the Commission, nor were they happy that Jerusalem was severed from the Jewish State; nevertheless, they welcomed the compromise. The Arabs rejected the UNSCOP's recommendations.

As the partition vote approached, it became clear little hope existed for a political solution to a problem that transcended politics: the Arabs' unwillingness to accept a Jewish state in Palestine and the refusal of the Zionists to settle for anything less. The implacability of the Arabs was evident when Jewish Agency representatives David Horowitz and Abba Eban made a last-ditch effort to reach a compromise in a meeting with Arab League Secretary Azzam Pasha on September 16, 1947. Pasha told them bluntly:

The Arab world is not in a compromising mood. It's likely, Mr. Horowitz, that your plan is rational and logical, but the fate of nations is not decided by rational logic. Nations never concede; they fight. You won't get anything by peaceful means or compromise. You can, perhaps, get something, but only by the force of your arms. We shall try to defeat you. I am not sure we'll succeed, but we'll try. We were able to drive out the Crusaders, but on the other hand we lost Spain and Persia. It may be that we shall lose Palestine. But it's too late to talk of peaceful solutions.

The ad hoc committee of the UN General Assembly rejected the Arab demand for a unitary Arab state. The majority recommendation for partition was subsequently adopted 33-13 with 10 abstentions on November 29, 1947."

YOM HAZIKARON

Rememberance Day for Israel's War Dead begins tonight...

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL'S SOLDIERS

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Forces, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our God, from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May the Almighty cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighters from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under our soldiers’ sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is the Lord your God, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

Now let us respond: Amen.

"One Week"

UPDATE: Rabbi Nachman Kahana sent this out...
"65 years ago the ashes of the Jewish people who were incinerated in the crematoria of Poland and elsewhere covered the skies of europe - now, on the day when we commemorate the shoah - the 27th of nissan - ashes began to cover Europe. Today is the day when all eyes are turned to Poland for the funeral of their president - There is a Jewish God in Heaven and on earth."

Massive Fireball Seen Across Four Midwestern States

Volcanic ash from Iceland forces cancellation of flights, disrupts travel for thousands

This is interesting because the experts had just said a few days ago that this eruption was finished. The last time it erupted was two hundred years ago. It has a sister volcano that usually erupts in tandem with it, but so far so good, said the experts when they said it was apparently done, but lo and behold 24 hrs later and it goes off bigger and better than ever. Look at the 'Drudge' headlines...

Volcanic ash halts European flights...
Sweeps From Iceland...
Massive cloud...
Obama's Poland trip still on, but watching ash...

And then there's IRAN. Achmed says he'll go nuclear in a month. The US-DIA says not for another year, but Russia admits, Bushehr will go online in August.

And then ALL the nation's security services launch a surprise nationwide drill that demonstrates just how royally screwed we are going to be if the next war is launched upon us around one o'clock in the afternoon. People who have been here for several decades said they'd never seen anything like it...ever. Apparently it was gridlock.

It brought images to my mind of the attack scene in the movie The Day After, lo aleynu!

And then there's Syria's rearming of Hizb'allah...

But there is a bright side: Peres among thousands stranded due to volcanic ash cloud in Europe That's the funniest thing I've heard all week!

Yom HaShoah

"Blame it on Rio"

Look at what is going on in Brazil:

"...over 400 people are now feared dead in some of the worst flooding to swamp Brazil in decades. At dawn, rescuers pulled four more bodies from the thick mound of dirt and debris in the Niteroi shantytown of Morro do Bumba, bringing the updated death toll to 219, while another 200 people were believed to be buried alive in the slum, itself precariously perched atop a garbage dump. About 60 hours after THE HEAVIEST RAINS IN HALF A CENTURY unleashed floods and mudslides, rescue workers appeared far from having finished the work of recovering bodies. Niteroi was hardest hit, with at least 134 dead. Across the bay, another 60 were found in Rio de Janeiro. The heavy rain forced about 50,000 people to leave their homes, either because their homes were damaged or because they were ordered to leave due to fear of fresh landslides. Two cracks in the rocky soil made the mound move and pushed a huge amount of rubbish, saturated with water that had trapped methane gas, down the hill. Firefighters working at the site since Wednesday, said there was little chance of finding new survivors after part of the hillside fell away and swallowed everything in its path, including 50 houses, a day-care centre and a pizzeria."

Also:

"One week after Rio De Janeiro suffered from torrential rains and deadly mudslides, the Brazilian city was dealt extreme waves and a massive storm surge. A storm surge is an UNUSUAL rise in sea level on the coast due to a low pressure weather system and accompanying high winds. An extra-tropical cyclone, or a storm that forms outside the tropics, formed along the coast of Rio and caused the storm surge. The features of this storm are similar to the Nor'easter that occurs along the East Coast of the U.S. "Extra-tropical cyclones are common in the South Atlantic. But they usually form along the coast of Argentina and in the Plata region." Sometimes, storm surges affect the southern coast of Brazil but if the cyclone is very deep, the surge may reach the Southeast region. "As this system developed much more to the North than usual, the surge didn't have an impact in the South, but it was a direct hit for Sao Paulo and mainly Rio."
