Of particular note, in light of yesterday's blog post, is the following:
An entire legion of Trump Administration envoys has been crisscrossing the Middle East these days on various errands. Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner left Riyadh Saturday after a visit in which he was accompanied by deputy national security adviser Dina Powell and special peace envoy Jason Greenblatt, who stayed on and arrived in Jerusalem Monday, Oct. 29 to brief Netanyahu on the talks the US envoys held in Riyadh as well as Cairo. Another American visitor to the Saudi capital was Treasury Secretary Seven Mnuchin. He landed in Jerusalem a day before Greenblatt and he too met Netanyahu.
Neither American nor Israeli officials are prepared to reveal the subjects of the US diplomatic shuttle. However, DEBKAfile’s sources have learned that Israel was asked not just to express public approval of the reconciliation process underway between the rival Palestinian factions under Egyptian auspices, but to embark on practical steps to this end.

  1. A storm packing hurricane-force wind gusts and soaking rain brought trees and power lines crashing down early Monday, knocking out power for nearly 1.5 million homes and businesses and forcing hundreds of schools to close in New England. Thousands of trees were toppled, some falling onto houses and cars. Utilities are warning that power may be out for a week.
The storm system also caused problems Sunday in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. In New York, service on Metro-North's Danbury Branch in Connecticut was suspended due to a mudslide and signal power problems. Part of the Long Island Rail Road's Ronkonkoma Branch was halted because of power lines on the tracks.

  2. Why are they trimming trees in Jerusalem now? Are they expecting something? Why the new underground trash cans that the cats can not get into? The Cats are starving. They would normally eat the trash in the dumpsters. Now there are no Dumpsters, just the Underground trash cans that you have to open by hand.

    1. Tree-trimming now is so if or when it snows or we get a big wind during a winter storm, the limbs won't break and hit people.

About new trash cans, I have no idea. I haven't seen them.

  3. How gross on the underground trash; how in the world do they clean them?? Look out for increased rat problems because of kitty neutering!
