I have resisted using this terminology beause it originated from an impure source, but there's no denying that its usage has caught on so quickly and has penetrated the common vernacular so thoroughly that it must contain an important message.
We know that the moon represents Israel, so all the talk of "blood" moons immediately draws a connection between Israel and blood. There are two ways a person becomes covered in blood. Either they are the victim or the perpetrator. In this instance, what is Hashem warning us about? Will Israel be the intended victim or the cause of bloodshed - or both???
