Since the virus started in Israel the overall daily death rate has gone down.
ReplyDeleteAnd now it is back up but not even near the level it was a the beginning. However, nothing ever justified the estimate of 10,000 in a month! This was at the same time they were locking us all up for Pesach, which was a week later.
ReplyDeleteNow, they are trying the same tactics for the New Year holy days - making dire warnings about the huge increase in cases expected in the fall.
If we don't get a lock up then we will get a war....

Elisheva - Yes! I read a while back when we were at a peak that the Israeli chevra kadisha in charge of burials said they actually were experiencing 80% less deaths than average. For every 10 burials they usually had during a certain time period, now they were only burying 2. So, despite appearances, Hashem was doing us great chessedim! Not sure where I read that but I can try to find the source.
ReplyDeleteBe aware, there may not be a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine ready until 2021, but they are already pushing the flu vaccine for the fall to "take the load of the hospitals."
