To answer your question: Of course, the state of Israel was the way to get the nation of Israel back home, even though, of course, its roots are evil, i.e, the bolshevik initiators who were Erev Rav. H', many times, uses evil or sinful deeds to bring forth the good, in order to fool the soton, as Rabbi Kessin likes to say. This is how we got a foothold back into our Land and that's why it's been an uphill battle all the way, being fought with blood & tears. We are now accepted as a nation living in our Land and now it needs to be cleansed of the Erev Rav and others which will be through Moshiach (maybe first MBY). Even calling the 'state' was strange, but it's how we got back home again. Also, the horrific loss of probably 7 million Jews was the reason the goyim had to agree (who knows). Now, the time has come where Yisrael will become the real true Torah Jewish Eretz Yisrael; may it be very soon b'rachamim!
Anonymous@7:28PM - Unless I missed something, I don't think the rabbi has answered the question yet, but I'm sure he intends to. That'll probably come in Part 2.
I strongly disagree with your assertion that "its roots are evil." The "roots" of return were put down by holy people who came long before the so-called Zionists. Were they not, they never could have taken hold.

I do not know, but it seems that until Mashiach will come we won't be able to go to kotel. It's very sad...Yesterday I was in tears, but...may be we should think like rabbi Akiva, because it's a sign.
Devash, I wrote the comment about the roots of the bolsheviks who started the 'zionist' movement to come back to EY and you brought up that it was the righteous Jews who came prior to that time who started the movement (late 1700 through the 1800's); that happens to be my family who came in the mid 1800's. But, I was not speaking of them as they came with true emunah and love of the Land on an individual basis to 'live' in holy EY. But it was coming back home as a 'nation' that the State was born, through the secular zionist movement. The UN would never have agreed if it were the very righteous individuals who wanted to make EY an independent Jewish country. It was the horrific Shoah that sort of forced the world to accept that we deserve a country. It was surely not out of love of the Jewish people. Also, we know by now that there were behind the scenes deals made even with the Nazis, yimach shmom v'zichrom, in order to reach this statehood. Anyway, hope this clarifies my comment.
Rabbi Richter is a solid sage. B"H we have a few (very few) like him. Thanks for posting.
