(The Trump "Prophet" - Part 1)
In one of the final scenes of the movie, The Trump Prophecy, the aforementioned doctor and his wife are seated comfortably on their sofa in front of a television from which sounds of celebration are emanating. Trump has just been declared the winner of the 2016 presidential election. The wife is browsing a hand-held device when she suddenly says, "I can't believe this. There's a video of people in Israel who heard about this American woman leading a grand blowing of the shofar and now they're in the streets of Israel doing the same thing. It's crazy!"
Lest you mistakenly think these are Jews celebrating Donald Trump's election victory, although that is the impression that is given, later on in a different segment, Michelle Bachmann describes a scene, purportedly in Jerusalem, where a large group of people were filmed falling on their faces and beseeching God on Trump's behalf. Someone explains to her that it is a group of CHINESE CHRISTIANS who traveled to Jerusalem just for the sake of praying in the most powerful place for prayer that Trump would win.
What Jews mostly fail to appreciate is the global reach of this Dominionist movement.
At the very end of the movie, the ex-fireman-turned-false-prophet Mark Taylor is seen at his desk, recording a new "prophecy" in his journal...
The spirit of God says, "Israel, Israel, what about Israel? For Israel will be protected by America once again." The spirit says, "America will once again stand hand-in-hand with Israel, and the two shall be as one.'"About the first 45 mins of this film is devoted to a very slow, very drawn-out telling of this fireman's story, documenting his credentials as a bonafide prophet of God.
Just like their messiah is our anti-messiah and vice versa, so is their prophet a false prophet to us. I am only sharing this background because it is very relevant to what is coming upon Jews both in America and in Israel in the very near future. Because the people behind this film and the agenda it promotes are actively waging a gog umagog spiritual war on us, I think Jews need to be made aware of that fact and not be taken in by their claims to have our best interests at heart, or that they are supportive of us for any other reason than their own personal gain.
The last half hour is devoted to a music video and a series of interviews with some of the leading lights of the Dominionist movement.
With rousing patriotic music on the background of the flag, heart-tugging images are shown of veterans, and soldiers hugging children, and marines presenting arms, the space shuttle blasting off, etc. Following are the words of the chorus of the song which repeats until the end when it changes subtly to the second chorus. The words are both revealing and scary.
Referencing the soldiers who fought WWII ...
It was beautiful. It was sacrifice.
It was marvelous, but they paid the price
For our freedom, for our brotherhood,
For our dignity, they all stood, for the greater good.
Times have changed, but our time is here.Following are the most relevant comments made by some of the leaders of their movement who no doubt fancy themselves patriots in the mold of the Founding Fathers preparing for the Second American Revolution to turn the United States into what they claim it was always meant to be - A CHRISTIAN NATION.
This is no time to run in fear.
Let the legacy of sweet freedom ring
From humble beginnings, from sea to shining sea.
It is beautiful, it is sacrifice,
It is marvelous, and we will pay the price
For our freedom, for our brotherhood,
For our dignity, we will stand, for the greater good.
Lt. General William Boykin (Former US Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence under George W. Bush):
...II Chronicles 7:14 is very clear - "My people who are called by My name.."' - that means those of us who are believers [in JC] - who call ourselves Christians...Chris Delaney (International Business Executive/Former Canadian Politician):
What's really interesting from that passage in the Bible [II Chron. 7:14] is that it says, "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face' - so He's not saying all of America, he's not saying all of the world, He's saying "My people."Lance Wallnau (Author/International Speaker):
The promise in Chronicles that Solomon gave that is so profound is that if "My people that are called by My name will humble themselves and pray, if they will turn from their wicked ways, then I'll hear from heaven." So much of the repentance and awakening and revival hope of Christians in America is all about what God is going to do with the UN-Christian community, how He's going to change them, when the promise has nothing to do with them. It has to do with us - how believers [in JC] respond. It's how believers connect with their president and this moment - that's what determines the healing of the land. And so the real focus of that promise is believers have got to get their act together if they want to preserve their way of life.Michael Freund (Former Chief of Communications for Benjamin Netanyahu):
In other words, we can't just kick back and passively await redemption to come. We are put in this world to do things, to accomplish things. We are put in this world to partner with God in bringing holiness and sanctity into this material world.[In reality this describes Jews but does not apply to non-Jews, even more so Christians. As you can tell already, replacement theology is still very much alive and well among Evangelicals.]
Michelle Bachmann (Former Member of Congress/House of Representatives):
The salvation for America is the collection of believers, just enough who will get on our knees and humble ourselves and recognize our goal needs to be the maintenance of liberty.Lance Wallnau:
America's role in the world is literally the guardian of a free order and really supports the economic stability of nations that have the gospel preached. So, in a a very significant way, making America great again is about preserving the strength of the United States in a very competitive ideological conflict of nations so that as America is strong, democracy can be strong.[They have made no bones about this. The very moment that Israel ceases to be a democracy in the image of America, they will turn on us like an enemy.]
Michelle Bachman:
Any time there is a disaster, it is the United States that is first on the scene. Why? Because of our system of free-market enterprise, we've been able to create wealth in this nation. You can't help other people unless you have wealth and so we should never apologize for the fact that in this country, we know how to create wealth. We need to know how to use it wisely.Bishop Larry Jackson (Pastor/Author/International Speaker):
...If the United States is not strong economically, the rest of the world is going to suffer tremendously.... We've got to have a strong dollar, we need to have a strong economy so that we can help. The thing about this country is that we give more than any other nation on the planet, we are the most charitable people on the planet, and so, as a result of that, we are taking care of a lot of people around this world that would not have, if America was not here.[If this were even true, which it is not, I'm sure the Creator could find some other way of getting people what they need. After all, He is not limited in any way whatsoever!]
Chris Delaney:
...We are literally the glue that keeps the peace in the world. Is there a price to pay for that by the American public - yes. But, at the same time, it's necessary.Michelle Bachmann:
In the world, there is no greater epicenter than Jerusalem, Israel.Janet Porter (President - Fath2Action/ Right to Life Activist):
There's a lot of people that say, "Why Israel? Why does it matter?" Not only is it our only democracy in the Middle East, not only is it our best friend in that region, but if you want to be on the right side of history, you want to be on God's side. And if God is for Israel, and He is, then I want to be for Israel. God said He will bless those who bless them, that we are to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and when I saw that President Trump changed the embassy... I was cheering, I was crying.Chris Mitchell (Middle East News Correspondent):
One of the greatest principles in the Bible to the Jewish People is found in Genesis, chapter 12, when it says that God would bless those who bless the Jewish People and President Trump, in so many practical ways, has stood behind Israel [actually the Erev Rav regime which carries out America's desires] has had its back diplomatically and militarily and has also moved the United States Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. That's a huge diplomatic, historic and even prophetic statement. Because of the blessing that President Trump has bestowed on the Jewish People, that will reap economic, diplomatic, and even spiritual blessings for the United States.[In other words, whatever good they think they are doing is an investment, and like the businessmen that they are, they are looking for a return on that investment.]
Lance Wallnau:
You know, the uniqueness of Israel and the Bible for Christians is that it represents the promises of God that He is going to be restoring a people to a land and He's going to prosper a people on a land. There again, it is an interesting reality that Donald Trump and Israel have this in common, that they have global enemies very much interested in developing a narrative that would destroy them and so, the United States has a covenant relationship in a sense with God formed out of the Founders and the way in which they approached creating the unique experiment of an American community founded on religious liberty. The only other nation that shares that in common is Israel.[So first he says Israel is unique and then disproves it by saying how it has these things in common. "Religious liberty" is absolutely NOT a Jewish or Torah "value." The Torah does not allow for the acceptance of various gods and various forms of worship.]
Michelle Bachmann:
Dependent on how the election turned out, so too, Israel's fortunes could perhaps hang in the balance.Bishop Larry Jackson:
I believe our relationship with Israel is key, not only as an ally, but because God said if you bless Israel, you're going to be blessed. You can't make it any simpler than that.
Frightening, but yet uplifting because it's gotten so bad already that H' will not allow them to go much further. Always thinking about how Nimrod and his followers were so sure of themselves. The main problem is that the majority of Jews (everywhere) are assimilated to the point that they are prey for the evildoers. Only H' can help in a blink of an eye. Just read on Neshama's blog about the world climate situation changing so drastically as never before (might be Nibiru) that there's almost an upcoming ice age. H's force of nature will be the catalyst? She'yehiye rak b'rachamim aleinu!
ReplyDeleteSo you know it's not just me saying this...
ReplyDeleteWhy Trump — and some of his followers — believe he is the Chosen One
...Trump’s two announcements this week reveal why some evangelicals see him as “God’s Chosen One” — a King Cyrus-like figure, anointed by God to save America from cultural collapse. That claim was made in books and even a feature film about a so-called Trump Prophecy. Some charismatic Christian followers of Trump even created a coin with images of Trump and Cyrus on it to use during their prayers.
There have been a series of paintings of Trump as a kind of redeemer figure by John McNaughton. Others depict Trump being hugged by Jesus, or signing bills at the resolute desk with Jesus standing behind him. These images, for some evangelicals, are fan images of the hopes and the realities they believe President Trump’s election has wrought.
...especially those who are Dominionist, would be pleased that President Trump is finally being recognized for who they really believe that he is. Some evangelicals have spent a great deal of time since 2016 extolling Trump in this manner. So it is no surprise that he is accepting these accolades.
Meanwhile, Trump’s acceptance of being “the King of Israel” may just sound strange to ears not attuned to some quarters of Christian belief. But for those quarters of Christianity who believe in end-time prophecies and other beliefs about famous men, it is a sobering moment.
For some evangelicals, thinking of Trump as “King of the Jews” means that because he is the protector of Israel, Jews are that much closer to becoming “saved” and converted to Christianity. For Dominionist groups, some of which are already in Israel waiting for the “last days,” Trump’s embrace of this statement is further confirmation that he is God’s man in the last days, who will help to bring Christ back to Earth.
Perhaps the best way to understand Trump’s statements is in another context altogether, and that is by watching the new Netflix series by journalist and writer Jeff Sharlet, called “The Family.”
Evangelicals told Trump he was "chosen" by God. Now he says it himself.
ReplyDelete...There's no way that Trump — who is always ready to hear that he's the greatest and most important and best and most beautiful person who ever lived — is unaware that Christian right leaders literally speak about him this way, as a vessel anointed by God to do his bidding on Earth. On the contrary, Trump allows these fools into the Oval Office so they can lay hands on him and pray as if they were meeting a great prophet.
Trump, who is as religiously illiterate as a person can get, has little interest in understanding the elaborate narrative that's meant to hold Trump out as "anointed" without quite declaring him a prophet or a saint. (Evangelicals want to keep the option of walking back the Trump worship, if and when the whole thing goes sideways.) But no doubt he loves hearing words like "king" and "chosen" and is now parroting them back — along with not-funny, not-jokes about how he'll still be president in 14 years — as the stress mounts over whether he can recreate the fluke election that got him into the White House in the first place.
...the grim reality is that Trump is channeling — and in the first instance, directly quoting — the beliefs of evangelical conservatives, a powerful constituency that still holds enormous sway within the Republican Party. And those folks are telling Trump, regularly and in grandiose terms, that he is in fact the Chosen One and has been anointed by God to be the president at this point in time.
While Trump, who worships himself and only himself, probably hasn't given much thought to the deity now or at any other time, one thing is for sure: He loves this idea that he's been chosen by the almighty to be a great leader.
To be clear, white evangelical leaders don't actually compare Trump to Jesus or say he's the son of God or anything like that. But they do use language that compares him to Biblical figures they regard as anointed by God, and speak of him as a prophesied savior come to save America and turn it into the theocratic white-dominated nation-state of their dreams.
As journalist Katherine Stewart, who covers the religious right, explained in a New York Times article last December, the gist of the white evangelical view of Trump is "that he is a miracle sent straight from heaven to bring the nation back to the Lord" and "that resistance to Mr. Trump is tantamount to resistance to God."
