Do We Understand the Cost of Mashiach

27 Menachem Av 5779

A Day of Reckoning is coming...
"Therefore, wait for Me, says the Lord, for the day that I will rise up to meet with you. For it is My judgment to assemble nations, to gather kingdoms, to pour out My fury upon them; yea, all the kindling of My wrath, for with the fire of My jealousy all the earth shall be consumed." (Tzephaniah 3.8)
I often wonder how many of us anxiously awaiting Mashiach really understand the cost involved?

Think about it.  The few supporters that Israel can boast are attached to the Erev Rav leadership and promote the democratic, pluralistic, freedom-for-all-religions version of the "Jewish" State.  As long as Israel is a little clone of America, we have their approval and support.

At the 2019 Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast:
  • “We prayed for the unity between Jews, Christians and Muslims in order that the peace of Jerusalem would eventuate so that the Kingdom of God would be established according to the Lord’s [JC's] Divine will and purposes for mankind. Orthodox Jews, Messianic Jews, converted Muslims and Christians prayed in one accord with much love expressed and much love exchanged between one another.”  (Silvana Nile, Christian Democratic Party Australia)
  • “Jerusalem is not just the heart of three great religions but it is now the heart of one of the most successful democracies in the world. Over the past seven decades, the Israeli people have built a country where Jews, Muslims, and Christians and people of all faiths are free to worship according to the conscience and beliefs.” (President Donald Trump, letter read at 3rd Annual JPB, June 2019)
  • “It is clear that the governments and leaders of Israel and the U.S.value the importance of the spiritual connection between evangelicals and the Jewish state,” Rabbi Weisz told Breaking Israel News. “Everyone was there to pray; to call out to God to protect Jerusalem. The representatives called on their governments to take part in order to bring blessings upon their country.”  (Rabbi Tuly Weisz, Israel 365)
As soon as Mashiach comes and says no more Christian missionaries on Israeli soil, all of that is out the window.  As soon as Mashiach comes and says close all the churches and mosques, there won't be any more avodah zarah in the Holy Land, they will come to war against us.
Therefore, with this shall Jacob's iniquity be atoned for, and this is all the fruit of removing his sin; by making all the altar stones like crushed chalkstones; asherim and sun-images shall not rise.  (Yeshayahu 27.9)
The first to suffer the outrage of the nations will be those Jews who remain among the goyim in their lands.

It won't be pretty in Israel either.  Those who thought to bring in a redemption in cooperation with the nations; a "redemption" where HKB"H would share his place with the false gods of Christianity and Islam, as well as those who cling to the the false gods of State, Army, Democracy, Freedom and Zionism, will no doubt feel compelled to fight a civil war rather than bow to the will of HKB"H and the demands of His Holy Torah.

The birth of the messianic age, like any birth, will be bloody and painful.  Don't be surprised by it when it comes.

  1. Yep. Every time I see this attempt at unifying Yisrael wit Yishmael and Esau, and how so many see it as a wonderful idea, I ask myself who's gonna be left? Or will it just have to get even more super, industrial strength painful for Jews to wake up? (sigh)

  2. May the ultimate Geulah come, but with great rachamim for all H's devoted children and the righteous of the nations. Jews who will not at that time return & do teshuva and side with the enemies of H', His Holy Torah and His people, will just be exposed as those having no Jewish neshamot and be counted along with all the wicked. We should all try to do teshuvah and do more chesed and return to Torah, so, hopefully, the bad prophecies will not happen, but only the good will happen, as our Sages teach us. But, am afraid it's hard to believe that we can count on that!

  3. As soon as Moshiach is revealed, the revelation will be so overwhelming and total that none of those things mentioned will occur. Like a tsunami completely obliterates everything in its path, same with the Geula which will be complete, total, and eternal. Moshiach Now!

    1. Our sages have told us that it will unfold much the same way as it did in Mitzrayim.

    2. "Our sages have told us that it will unfold much the same way as it did in Mitzrayim." In Mitzryim, the 20% that listened to Moses survived the Plague of Darkness. But now with the 79% intermarriage rate in the US, we do not even know who a Jew is and few are listening to anyone and making Aliyah.

  4. How about building the Bayit Hamiqdash?

    1. The Rambam wrote that this process follows a particular order and Rav Kook agreed:

      1. First, there must be a Torah government.
      2. Then, that government will defeat our enemies.
      3. Only afterwards can the Beit Hamikdash be rebuilt.

It's completely logical. Anyone can see by the situation today how logical and reasonable and true it is.

  5. My point is that, it is incumbent upon us to build the Bayit Hamiqdash, something which is דאורייתא;
and something we should set as our goal. While the imminent coming of moshiach צידקינו, while certainly a weighty thing דרבנן, does not impinge on the tremendous zechut of Am Israel in building the Bayit Hamiqdash.

    1. I get that, but establishing a Torah government and ridding the land of our enemies are equally mitzvot דאורייתא. And they, by necessity, have to come first. Which one do you think is harder to accomplish? Can you see any of them coming to pass? Practically speaking, how do you think you will build the Temple without removing the Muslims and their shrines? And how do you think you will remove the Muslims and their shrines without the power of government force and its military?

  6. We have experienced 4 galiyot. There is an opinion to drink a fifth cup of wine during the seder
which symbolizes the fifth galut, which according to the Gr”a will occur when we are returned from exile and living within the borders of Eretz Israel, and considered the most difficult galut of all, -that of removing the Eruv Rav and their depraved influence. Once this is done, Am Israel will, accordingly, be able to fulfill HaShem’s will, build the Bayit Hamiqdash, and perform ALL of the mitzvoth במב״י! Something truly prescient concerning the building of the Mishcan, is that every member of Am Israel contributed materially in its construction, truly marvelous. I don’t disagree with you, & while the role of moshiach is considerable, the understanding that each of us have a role and perspective according to HaShem’s Torah is of the utmost importance.
