I heard that such polls aren't trustworthy - the leftists have a tactic to try to cause the Right to lose voices, by signing such polls, thus inflating the number of so-called supporters, fooling the public to believe that the party will pass the threshold.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, it is just the opposite. People undermine the viability of such a party by claiming there is no support for them and that all the votes cast will be "wasted." There is nothing to be gained by inflating the numbers.
DeleteTo me, however, any poll is an iffy thing. In the end, only Hashem knows how many will vote what way. Some people don't decide til the day of the election. And who knows what might happen to sway people's minds in the days just preceding? We don't even know with any assurance that the whole process is not rigged, which is why I say "vote" for the sake of Heaven. Hashem sees and takes note of what we do to practically fulfill His will. And that ALWAYS counts!
This is an independent internal poll run by NOAM itself. Eli Yishai did the same thing last election with Yachad under Rabbi Mazuz's instructions. When they saw they did not have the needed support, they dropped out.
Noam has my sympathy, but I don't think it's a good idea to divide the right-wing votes. Now the moron of Lieberman is going to do the same thing and Bibi won't be able to form a coalition.
ReplyDeleteIf you think our situation is ever going to improve under ANY "right-wing" government, I have sad news for you. We are only showing our support for NOAM in order to prove to HASHEM that we are prepared to accept Mashiach Tzidkeinu. Only a Torah government will bring us to redemption.
DeleteShould Noam actually get into the government, it would serve two purposes: 1) It would keep people thinking in terms of a Torah government, thereby preparing their minds and hearts to receive Mashiach; and 2) It would be a strong counterweight to keep the present regime from drifting too far leftward and at least stop or significantly slow the downward slide we've been on for quite awhile now.
In that case, better to vote for Shas. They will enter in both the knesset and the government. They will fight for Israel and the Torah.

It's nice to know: Noam has as its weekly goal 40K signatures. This week they made 101% and the day isn't over yet!

It's no coincidence that last election, every poll ignored Yachad like it didn't even exist. It was never listed as a party that was running. They're doing the same thing to Noam this time around.
DeleteI was seriously considering voting for Noam, because they are the only party that addresses the root of the disease and not just the symptoms. But after reading this article, I'm not so sure anymore. Do you have any up-to-date information on HaRav Tau's attitude towards the State?
ReplyDeleteFrom everything I have read, and as I have stated previously, I believe Rav Tau presents a very balanced view.
ReplyDeleteHis position on "following orders" is a bit more complex than presented in the article you linked to. See HERE. This may sound like a cop-out to some, but there is really a lot of wisdom in taking his balanced approach.

I am very much interested in this topic. Like I said, Noam are the only ones that are willing to deal with the REAL problem, which is the only way to guarantee that Hashem is on our side when we take on all the other problems.
ReplyDeleteAny idea where I can find more up-to-date information? The article you linked to is pre-expulsion. I still don't know if I will vote for someone who wasn't shocked by it into total disillusionment with the system.
If you have no illusions, you can't be disillusioned. The problem comes from an entire 2-3 generations which were taught one man's vision which was either in error or was misrepresented after his passing. The important thing is that a course correction appears to have been made based on the reality which confronts us.

ReplyDeleteRabbi Tau shlit"a has made great strides. His followers aren't quite there yet. And, although I risk throwing my vote away on Otzma, and they are far from perfect, I believe this to be just a little more practical at this point.
I appreciate why Noam would not agree to run with Otzma. THAT would have been a very interesting advancement in Ahduth Yisrael though.
