And here is why...

Avodah Zarah in Nepal

"People were just starting to relax and get back to some sort of normality,"....

"Normality" is at an end!

  1. The Home Front Command delegation that departed for Nepal following the recent earthquake that took place there returned home this morning (Tuesday).

Delegation members landed this morning at Ben Gurion Airport, and later on be taking part in an official reception ceremony.

    2. They may not be back for long:

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met this morning (Tuesday) with Nepal's ambassador to Israel to offer Israel's aid following the news that 7.4 magnitude earthquake had hit the disaster-stricken country yet again.

The two met at the official reception ceremony that was welcoming the return of the Home Front Command delegation from Nepal where they had served after the devastating 7.8 earthquake of April 25th hit Kathmandu. The April earthquake claimed the lives of more than 8,046 people.

  2. There are many countries that worship avoda zara, I'm wondering why so many quakes just here? Is their worship worse than the other places? Or is this just the beginning of the countries being leveled? Of course I don't expect you to have all the answers, but you do very good at speculating. Maybe the Bible Codes have some hint.

  3. What is really wild is the video that you link to. There is a woman who takes you on a virtual tour of Kathmandu and she talks about how they feed, was and dress up their "gods" who are mere statues. She goes on to mention that their statues are stolen and they now must be caged and the like.
She mentions that they are effigies of "god" and they are worshiped etc. At the end of the video she is seen praying to this statue.

  4. Think that maybe H' is starting with the bottom up; Haiti, notorious for voodoo, Nepal is the Dali Lama's, etc. First, the outright idolatry, then the major avoda zoras (meantime killing each other). These people must wake up because believe they are being given a chance to see the light - H' is cleaning house!

    1. The fact that only 8000 died is proof that they're being given a warning and not the actual punishment that they deserve.

  5. What is additional perplexing is that she grabs onto a metal cage with bars that houses her "god" so that it can't be stolen. Really? If it's "god", how can it be stolen?
Yes, of course I pray for the recovery of the health of the Nepalese people and hope that they find their loved ones to be safe.
It is that I am simply baffled by how deep the avodah zora is in their souls. It's sad, really.

  6. Yidel: I think you summed it up for me, "from bottom up". Thanks

  7. I think it began with all the Steeples

I can assure you that those who are living are still praying to Yoshke and worshipping their idols, despite the quakes, so it seems to me that Hashem is going to have to destroy many many more before they get it.

  8. Rabbi Yosef Mizrahi has a shiur on this if you remember from last week or so. How can a person look at the way the body works; the way nature is outside and so forth and look at wood, stone and metal and think it's a "god" is beyond me.

    1. If I had to guess at the message from this event, I'd have to say it signifies that from the halls of power in the nation's capitol to the boardrooms of its largest city, the entire nation is traveling a reckless path to destruction. When the nation itself lies twisted and wrecked like this train, in just the same way, many will die, many will be injured and some will walk away without a scratch "like in a movie" as one survivor put it.

    2. Is anyone besides me wondering if this is an ISIS hack job? They were promising something day before yesterday. Could they hack a train's controls and wreck it?

  11. Nobody should be quick to judge that these earthquakes happened because of avoda zara or because they deserved it or whatever. Nobody knows why God does these things, and nobody is in a position to know. It's wrong to be so judgemental everytime something happens. If we all got what we deserved for every sin that we do, we wouldn't be alive. If God forbid there is a fire in a shul and all the Torahs are burned, goyim can point and say "Oh look, see what happened, because you're following the wrong god".

    1. Devash, your reply is absolutely correct; especially now more than ever, as we are in keitz hayamim and there has been one blow after the other. Shelo neida, the Amtrak derailing, already six have passed on and they say about 8 critical and about 148 injured. No one who believes in the Creator can possibly say this is all coincidence and as Jews, we know there are No coincidences. This is all part of the cleansing that H' is doing, using His forces of 'nature' and other means and having the wicked kill each other (all sonei Yisrael). We pray that the Geula will come with great rachamim for every true Jew and for the righteous of the world. May it be.

  12. A fire that engulfed a footwear factory in a suburb of the Philippine capital has killed 72 people, authorities said Thursday. The blaze swept through the slipper and shoe factory in Valenzuela City on Wednesday, sending huge clouds of thick black smoke billowing into the sky. Investigators were still pulling bodies from the charred ruins a day later.

The Taliban says it was behind Thursday's hours-long siege on a Kabul guesthouse that left at least 14 people — including an American and an Italian — dead.
