This concerns the Jews of Eretz Yisrael more than Diaspora Jews, I think, since it's much more of a desecration of God's Name for gentiles to practice their avodah zarah and proclaim their false man-god "King over all the Earth" on Rosh Hashanah particularly and at His Most Holy chosen place - the Temple Mount. But it's worthwhile for all Jews to know the background and history so they don't feel embarrassed by their brethren in Eretz Yisrael and judge them harshly for offending western sensibilities.

It feels like Hashem is just going to torture us beinonim and righteous for a long time until Moshiach comes. Hopefully, we don’t have to wait 6-7 years until the next Motzei Shemittah for MBD and the Bais Hamikdash. What a disaster of a long wait that would be.

Unfortunately, we are still using this imprecise translation "idolatry." We should be using "foreign worship." Ignorant Jews continue to differentiate between Catholics/Orthodox and Protestants and Evangelicals. Even though they revere the same texts as holy, and believe in the same mythical theology.
