Everything the good Rabbi says is absolutely correct. Except, why the need for the word 'state'? Since we are a unique people and our Land is unique, the gift from G-D to we, the Jewish people, we should keep our rightful name of Eretz Yisrael (the Land of Israel). State has a bad taste as it was started by those who inwardly and outwardly were/are against G-D & His Torah and have desecrated it in so many ways so it fit for then, but we should now want our true Land of Israel full of Torah and the knowledge of Hashem! State sounds like just another state (i.e.,US & others) and diminishes the holiness of the Land.
I understand what you mean. However, Rav bar Chaim is a very precise person. Eretz Yisrael doesn't have the same definition and the word "state". So, since he was apeaking about a land and nation togethe, he used the term state, which is the proper word for the context as far as I know. Eretz Yisrael refers only to the land itself and not the nation in it.
