We Can Only Hope

22 Iyar 5774
Day 37 of the Omer

I'm sure that you, like me, are reading all the news about the Poop's visit to Israel. (BIG SIGH) I went through this once before in 2000 with the previous holder of that title. It doesn't get any better... or easier.  The man is the leading idolater in the world! And the world of evil grovels at his feet, including our own evil Erev Rav regime.

The news reports that the Vatican is concerned about the "danger" of another "price tag attack" (sic). Yep, you read that right - attack! It's a new trend in "Jewish terrorism" (sic). Attack with a permanent marker, or can of spray paint.  Lethal stuff! The list of dead, injured and permanently disabled by these "terrorist attacks" is a long and dirty one. Of course, I jest. It's as laughable as the sight of foxes running in and out of the destruction of the Temple on the Temple Mount.  If Rabbi Akiva could see the humor, we should, too.

In that spirit, I'd like to remind the readers that our planet will pass through comet remnants on Shishi-Shabbat that Earth has never been through before. Maybe, a fireball of sufficient size to wipe out his palace in the Vatican will hit it on Shabbat... while he's still in it. No Poop, no trip, no troubles.

We can only hope!

Failing that, the public should be forewarned that there's no use even thinking about getting around Jerusalem from Sun., May 25th at noon until Mon., May 26th at 8 pm without major headaches and transportation disruptions.

  1. Funny Devash. I commented on an article 'Pope Will Recognize Palestine, Call to End Occupation' "where's a meteor shower when we need it." It got deleted. I do have a question. Is it possible that all of this can be considered dividing Jerusalem?

  2. Deleted, hmmm. Guess they wouldn't like this blog, huh?

In answer to your question, I think we have to look to the significance of the date for a clue. Out of all the days on the calendar, how is it he is coming davka just before Yom Yerushalayim. He'll be leaving literally just as Yom Yerushalayim comes in.

So, yes, I think it's part of a process of dividing Jerusalem. For the Pope, it's always been about taking Jerusalem from us.

Can you imagine the scene in Heaven when he and the Grand Mufti begin their stroll around Har Habayit - the current 'owner' and the one who wants to take it from him? But, WE know that it's really HASHEM who owns it all, us included, and HIS will is all that matters.

Church Official: Arrest Rabbi Ginsburgh Before Pope's Visit

Israel needs to arrest “many more people” - including a prominent Rabbi - in advance of the visit of Pope Francis over the weekend to show that it is serious about fighting anti-Christian discrimination, the the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Fouad Twal, said. “If Israel is the democracy it claims to be, then it should do something to stop” the “terrorist youths” accused of “price tag” attacks.

  4. Once again, I really appreciate your insights, Devash.
Interesting how the Left has complained about Jerusalem shutting down for the funerals of amazing Jews who have done so much on so many levels for all of Am Yisrael or shutting down for a prayer rally that benefits the world.
Yet severely disrupting the capital for the leader of Catholicdom is perfectly okay? And you've already described the issues with him better than I ever could.
Furthermore, I agree that the Left reaction to the "price tag" incidents is repulsive. Life experience has taught me that a true rasha will downplay or ignore genuine evil and demonize relatively minor or innocent events. Like how Hillary Clinton didn't say a word about the Muslim honor killings in America or the nearly 100% rate of Muslim assault-rape in Norway or the Muslim gangs that prey on British girls, but likened frum IDF soldiers who quietly avoided watching a performance of Jewish girls objectifying themselves as "Taliban."
Methinks the people who downplay genuine terrorism but demonize spraypainting fit that category....
