A Time to Remember the Holy House

17 Tamuz 5773

Today's date marked the beginning of the end for both Holy Temples. May we finally and at long last merit to see the rebuilding of the Third Beit Hamikdash speedily in our days!!

So said the Lord of Hosts, saying: This people has said, "The time has not come - the time for the house of the Lord to be built." And the word of the Lord came through Haggai the prophet, saying: Is it [an appropriate] time for you yourselves to sit in your ceiled houses, when this house is in ruins? (Haggai 1.1-4)

Rabbi Frank: Pray for Amonah

The state has informed the Supreme Court it will respond to the petition for the demolition of Amonah within a week.

Local Rabbi Yair Frank says that the nation must beseech the Almighty in order to avert the plan. Accordingly, a massive prayer service is scheduled Monday afternoon at the Western Wall with the participation of the women and children of Amonah, in addition to a great prayer assembly Tuesday in the local central synagogue. Communities across Israel are requested to add at least two Psalms to daily services.

Rabbi Frank adds, "The issue is only over PA Arab ownership of a few isolated lots, with negotiations under way. The rest of Amonah has been purchased legally by Jews, and there should be absolutely no issue of demolition."

Maybe if we would pray for Hashem's House to be built and really mean it and be prepared to do as much as we are able to bring it about, then Hashem would take care of our houses and we wouldn't be at risk of losing them.

It didn't stop with Gush Katif or the northern Samaria communities and it won't stop with Amona. Until we get serious about fulfilling the mission for which we were settled in this land, I fear we will continue to lose more and more, bit by bit and piece by peace...

Feiglin: We've Handed over Negev to Arabs

...“Never was the fast of Tammuz 17 so tangible for me. The direct link to the destruction of Jerusalem is clear and plain. You gave up on the Temple Mount, you gave up on construction in Jerusalem, you have abandoned the Jews in the eastern section of the city, you have frozen construction in Judea and Samaria, and now you've given away the Negev.

"The Temple Mount, in the land, is like the heart among the body's organs. He who turns his back on the Mount, loses all of the organs.”
