If anyone remembers, a few years ago, the autistic boys described a situation which sounded like the grid was down with effects similar to those caused by an EMP, which was much in the news at the time. But, maybe this is what they saw.

Antifa/BLM can just plant something that goes bang at the station or even just shoot the transformers, (The Transformers are cooled with PBC insulating Oil that can drain out) to bring the grid down.
