Will Mashiach Be Revealed This Shabbat?

23 Marcheshvan 5780

Now that Benny Gantz has returned the mandate to President Rivlin tonight signaling his failure to form a government, will the purported nevua of Rabbi Sasson Chai Shoshani come true this Shabbat?
...“In the ancient sefer ‘The Bris of the Persimmon’ written by the mekubal R’ Sasson Chai Shoshani who was called the ‘the Navi from Mitzrayim,’ there’s a wonderful quote which has special meaning during these days: ‘The day will come that two ministers will win the government in Israel. The name of both will be Binyamin and neither will succeed in establishing a government. On that day, [the day when both Binyamins will have failed to form a government?] you should know and understand that Moshiach is already standing by the door and on the Shabbos afterward, he will come and reveal himself.'” (Source)
And from the same source...
...The chavrusa of R’ Kaduri, Chacham Menachem Menashe, the author of Ahavas Chaim, wrote similar things. He wrote in the name of R’ Sasson Chai Shoshani in Parshas Ki Savo, the parsha we read this past Shabbos, on what will be at the end of days, how there will be a war with the erev rav about Shabbos and how the erev rav will have the majority.”
And right on schedule...
Tel Aviv to launch Shabbat bus program on Friday
We can only hope and pray!

    2. Still we are getting very close b"h.

      Sanhedrin p.98

The students of rabbi yosi ben kimsa asked him:
      When will Ben David come?
      rabbi yosi:
      -Do you need a sign?
      -no.
-when this (שער) gate will fall- שער shelton erev rav -
they will rebuild, then it will fall again, then they rebuilt, then they rebuilt again, and again they will fall and they will not be able to form a government until Ben David comes. (3 times)

Lieberman (may be)the one who first broke the government.

    3. This quote is (intentionally?) mistranslated. It doesn't say anything about a government in that part of the gemara. It simply says a gate will for 3 times and be rebuilt. How does one equate this to the government is beyond me since the more oft meaning implies a war.

    4. It's not my interpretation I took it from sod1820com.
rashey tivot "sha'ar" - shilton erev rav.
      I do not read gemarot

    5. Right. And this is an elaboration of 97a which mentions the signs we'll see during the generation of Ben David, and includes the destruction of the North, the wandering of the border town residents, never finding comfort (Gaza 2005, up until now, not to mention those getting fired upon), the truth being absent (hidden away in pockets), the bearers of the truth being shunned (we know many of those), etc. I have oversimplified here.

    6. I understand and appreciate that. I was simply elaborating on what you posted. BTW, the interpretation of the "absent" truth actually being hidden away in pockets is also from a mefaresh, the Chessed leAvraham maybe. I don't remember. The Em HaBanim Smeaicha mentions it. Personally I think it's one of the reasons we need Unity, all the while trying to stay away from shmutz and nonsense.

  5. It's quite simple, the nevua from Rav Kadouri was in fact said many years ago by Rav Elchanan Wasserman talmid of the Chafetz Chaim. He said that since the Exodus of Egypt all idols cannot exist for long and all the beliefs in "ism's" communism Zionism etc is idolatry and cannot exist for long. Communism died after 70 years and it seems Zionism is slowly dissolving into nothing. Mashiach will come when we won't have any power to believe in but Hashem. See parshat haazinu perek 32 pasuk 36 "Hashem will have mercy on his servants and bring moshiach when everything will be "efes" zero and nullified" zionisms is becoming zero and soon we shall be zoche to greet mashiach !

    1. I don't know if you noticed, but Zionism already won. Israel not only exists, but it's more powerful and prosperous than ever (and if we are dragged into another election is because of these lousy politicians, not because "Zionism" failed).

    2. Somewhat off topic, and I don't disagree with you in principle. But, Many (most?) of those calling themselves "Zionists" aren't really Zionists. But, yeah, they way they use the term is definitely problematic.

The Labor Zionists were/are anything but "Zionist," the concept that Eretz Tzion was granted to the Jewish People by the Holy One Blessed be He.

The previous Belzer Rebbe once announced that he was "more Zionist than the Zionist," and began reciting every pasuq from Tana"kh with the word Tzion in it by heart.

Once a former member of Neturei Karta said, "If you say that Zionism means that Eretz Yisrael belongs to the Jewish People, then I'm a Zionist. If you say that Zionism means being a member of the same club as (name of Labor Zionist withheld here), then I am not a Zionist."

You see my point. Just food for thought.

    3. Unknown, "Zionism" has replaced Torah as the foundation stone upon which "religious" and secular have built a common house - the State of Israel. Whereas in chu"l, the Golden Calf is money and materialism, in Eretz Yisrael, the Golden Calf is State and IDF worship - Power and Might. And all of these idols will share the fate of the original very soon.

As when the Erev Rav built the calf, many good Jews admired them and unified with them in their hearts. We are just living through a repeat of history. The calf served its purpose in its time and today, Zionism has fulfilled its purpose as well, but it has nothing whatever to do with Torah which is how goyim and Godless Jews can be such strong and proud Zionists. So-called "religious" Zionists have erred by thinking they can ignore the crimes these people are committing against Hashem for the sake of unifying around Zionism.

I hope and pray that there won't be another election, but that instead we will have Mashiach and an end to all the falsehoods.

    4. Essert Agarot, I've thought about this for a long time, and I have decided not to use that term to describe the longing for Zion as expressed in our holy sources. That term does not exist in those places. It was never an entity on its own for us, it is part and parcel of the whole Torah and life of the Jew who is faithful to it. Zionism as an ISM is a recent invention and Torah Jews need to wean themselves off of it and clear their heads of these false ideas.

I know it may be hard to believe, but I never heard the word Zionism until I arrived in Israel. All I knew was Tanach. When I came to live here, I did not know that Judea and Samaria were not recognized as part of Israel. I did not know that Arabs were citizens and members of Knesset. I knew nothing of the Erev Rav and their duplicity. I just wanted to be a Jewess and live in the Holy Promised Land and be as close as possible to HKB"H. You don't have to be a Zionist or political right-winger to do that.

    5. Rabbi Elchonon Wasserman, Rosh Yeshiva of Baranovitch (1875-1940)
In the 1930's Rabbi Elchonon Wasserman, one of the greatest European Jewish Torah scholars and head of the Yeshiva of Baranowitz, Poland, published a series of essays entitled "Ikvesa D'meshicha" on the problems facing Jewry at that time. He deals with the subject of Zionism and much of what he writes could apply equally today. In 1965, his son Rabbi Elazar Simcha Wasserman published an English translation of these essays in booklet form. Now this translation has been edited and improved and we have made it available online.

    8. Devash, my late dear mother, Z"L was an avid Zionist for years and years - in the 50's and throughout her life, making Aliyah against all odds, truly - but she wasn't aware of the underpinnings. She didn't know about agendas. She had a love for the Land, People and Torah Nobody spoke about Erev Rav or anything of that nature and she didn't even cultivate these thoughts. Till the end, when the system killed her, she never lost sight of building the Medina because of our history. On her shoulders I might be standing now, but my eyes were opened at an early age and have been fighting this system since the beginning. I tried to tell her about what was going on, but she didn't want to hear. Maybe it was too traumatic to even consider. Regardless, we're on the brink, may Hashem have mercy on us and grant us a Shabbat Shalom.

  7. The 'zionist' state that was created has nothing to do with the true love of Tzion, Torah and, of course, H'. It was created by the Erev Rav, those in leadership bolshevik positions, and their goal was not for a 'real' Jewish state (Land of Israel), but for one where the Torah would be 'discarded', c'v, and thus become like all the other countries which would also be a deterrent for the coming of Moshiach. This truly typifies the Erev Rav and their goal of halting the coming of Moshiach tzdkeinu from the time when they left Egypt to join the Jewish people, which was a setup from the start. Also, we should remember when Golda Meir was seemingly proud when she said 'now we also have criminals like the other nations', so we would not be the outcasts, r'l. Oy!

    1. It had to pan out like this. This was already enscripted from the time of Avraham - this for us to do a major tikkun. We are Dor HaMidbar and this is what has been given to us as a ladder to climb out of.

  8. Many of my friends have recommended that I give up on the term Zionism, and if I have to categorize myself to identify as Shomer Torah uMitzwoth, and leave it as that, instead of identifying as a "Real Zionist."

I recommend the contrass "The Death of Zionism" by R' Chaim Zimmerman z"l.

And, of course, I believe all Jews should read Em HaBanim Smeicha by R' Yissachar Shlomo Teichel hy"d, from Munkatch. As you know the Hungarians were particularly anti-Zionist. Yet R' Teichtel eventually began encouraging aliya in the 1930's when he realized the writing on the wall. He wrote this book in hiding, with sources from memory. I would love to see this translated into Yiddish, if it already hasn't been. It was VERY difficult to get it distributed in Hebrew. It was translated to English by R' Mosh Lichtman, author of Eretz Yisrael in the Parasha.
