COINCIDENCE?

20 Kislev 5778

The first intifadah broke out on 18 Kislev 5748 (9 December 1987). It is definitely not a coincidence that Trump announced US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital on the thirtieth anniversary of the Arab uprising and possibly providing the excuse for a third one.

  1. Talk about dates, The UN proposal on November 29 1947 was the 16th of Kislev. Yesterday was the 18th of kislev 70 years later.

    1. Anonymous, go and look up a map of what the Balfour Declaration set aside for the Jewish Homeland and then compare it to map of the partition of Palestine that the UN approved. Then come back and tell me if they did us a favor or if they hamstrung us the same way Trump did yesterday.

  2. ""Haniyeh was quoted by Hamas news sources as saying that the next intifada would begin Friday and that the peace process had been "buried." He called on the Palestinian nation in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria to rise against the "Zionist enemy.”” That’s tomorrow! Erev Shabbat. Everyone be careful and watch where you’re going.

    1. Avraham Avinu dug three wells which our Sages tell us allude to the three batei mikdash. The Chafetz Chaim said there would be three wars of GoguMagog so why not three intifadas?

  3. It was already the 19th of Kislev in Israel. Possibly the same can be said for 1987.

The Alter Rebbe said: "This Day (19th of Kislev) will be established as a permanent Holiday for the Jewish People , through which thousands will be awakened to serve G-d."

    It also the day of:
19 Kislev, 1744 - Rabbi Shneur Zalman was conceived.
19 Kislev, 1772 - Yom Hillula of the Maggid of Mezritch, successor of the Baal Shem Tov.
19 Kislev, 1798 - Alter Rebbe’s release from prison on false charges and free to teach Chassidus.
19 Kislev, 2003 - the day that Saddam Hussein was captured.
19 Kislev, 2011 - the day that the Iraq War came to an end.
