MOETZES CHACHMEI HATORAH: “Haters Of Hashem Are Establishing An Evil Government”

As the establishment of the Bennett-Lapid government approaches, the Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah of Shas published a letter calling for a day of tefillah on Erev Rosh Chodesh Tammuz.

“Behold darkness is covering the earth and it’s a time of tzara for Yaakov,” the letter stated. “The tzaros increase from day to day, both for individuals and the public. Hashem should save us.”

“And especially now when the haters of Hashem formed an alliance against Hashem and banded together to establish an evil government, with their entire intention to uproot the Torah and Yahadus from Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael.”

“Therefore we are calling to everyone in the Am HaKodesh in every location to gather together and stand up for our souls, on Wednesday, Erev Rosh Chodesh Tamuz, to cry out with a great and bitter cry in tefillah and supplications to Hashem for the yeshua of Klal Yisrael and for the swift elevation of the Keren HaTorah.”

“Atzarot tefillah and selichos will be held in the shuls and batei medrash, as well as the kriyas of perkei Tehillim: 20, 83, 121, 130, and 142. And everyone, men, women, and children in every location should at least recite these pirkei Tehillim. And everyone who is mitza’ar with the tzibur will zocheh to witness the nechama of the tzibur.”

New Gov’t: Transportation On Shabbos, Civil Marriage, Leiberman’s Draft Law

The coalition agreements of the Bennett-Lapid government were publicized this week and many of the agreements, especially that of Yisrael Beiteinu’s Avigdor Leiberman, calls for anti-religious laws to be implemented.

The agreements call for the advancement of civil marriage, transportation on Shabbos, a Reform department in the Diaspora Ministry which would grant the Reform movement a substantial budget, the advancement of laws requiring all student to learn “core” subjects, the establishment of a large egalitarian Kosel plaza, and additional laws regarding limiting the power of the Rabbanut on issues of kashrus and conversion.

The agreement with Yisrael Beiteinu also stipulates that the draft law formulated by Leiberman when he was serving as the defense minister, without any of the changes demanded by the Chareidi parties, will be implemented.

“Those who stand strong against all the heresy – who, rather than being influenced, bolster their belief in HaShem and do not budge at all from the true dictates of the Torah – will merit to see the full Redemption through Moshiach.  To them will be revealed the highest levels of spiritual clarity, a knowledge of real truth – a glimpse of the light of Gan Eden.  For them will be rectified all the spiritual darkness and ‘hiding’ that has so clouded the world since the sin of Adam, and they will be granted, in the end, true completion in this world, and revelation of the greatness of HaShem’s kingdom in the World to Come….”

We are in a holding pattern in a very perilous period of time.  Many questions remain unanswered.

Will the new "completely heretical" government be confirmed on Wednesday - Yom Kippur Katan before Rosh Chodesh Tamnuz?  

Will Netanyahu do something drastic to prevent it like provoking Iran beyond their endurance?

Will the Flag March cancelled on Yom Yerushalayim really go through as rescheduled on Thursday, Rosh Chodesh Tammuz Aleph?  And will Hamas use it as an excuse to break the ceasefire?

If the missiles start up again, will Hamas keep its promise to target Tel Aviv specifically and if so, will that cancel their Pride Parade scheduled for Friday, Rosh Chodesh Tammuz Bet?

By Shabbat, we should have the answers.

Is Arutz Sheva Promoting Missionary Activity in Israel???

It's a fair question as you'll see.  I live for the day when the names of false religions disappear from the vocabulary.  I'd like nothing better than to stop talking about Christian missionaries crawling all over our Holy Land, but they never take a rest, so neither can we.

In a recent comment, Elisheva brought to our attention Arutz Sheva's continuing campaign to paint the Waller Family and their HaYovel Ministry as something to admire and cheer on.  This might have something to do with the fact that the Wallers have the backing of Rabbi Eliezer Melamed.  The Rabbi is not only the Rav of Yishuv Har Brachah in the Shomron, a place where Jews were evicted from their homes to make way for the money-making HaYovel enclave there, he is also the son of the founder of Arutz Sheva.  The Rabbi refused to meet and speak with representatives of Jewish Israel to hear the damning information about their hidden agendas which were not so hidden within their messianic circles at the time.

Fast forward to 2021 and the scandal of the "chareidi" missionaries - gentile Christians posing as Jews and living among the frum community of French Hill in Jerusalem.  It turned out not to be an isolated case.  More such families were about to be revealed.  It turned out that they all had an association with The Bram Center.

Christian Missionary Has Been Running a ‘Shul’ in Jerusalem

A stranger visiting the “Tzemach David” shul and beis medrash in Yerushalayim would never imagine that the innocent-looking facility was actually a training center for Christian missionaries in how to conduct themselves as religious Jews.

A wide-ranging probe by Yad L’Achim revealed that Tzemach David is the tip of the iceberg in the missionaries’ efforts to earn the trust of the Israeli public through deceit and manipulations. Tzemach David is housed in a building called the Bram Center, after Abram (Bram) Poljak, a pioneering missionary in Israel.

The “Beis Medrash” is run by an organization called FFOZ (First Fruits of Zion) that was established in the United States in 1992 with the central aim of presenting Christianity as Judaism and conducting intensive activities to gets Jews to convert. ... “The Bram Center provides … a place for Israelis to learn about the connection with Messianic Judaism.”

Half a year ago, the missionaries ratcheted up their activities, starting a “Torah Club” that claims to offer in-depth study of Tenach and Judaism to enable “Messianic Jews” to lead full “Jewish-Torah lives.”

The two main activists are Ami (Tim) Buckles and Boaz Michael.

Buckles, who dresses like an American chareidi Jew from the United States, lives near the Givat Mordechai neighborhood in Yerushalayim.

...Boaz Michael, chairman and founder of FFOZ, lives in the Arnona neighborhood of Yerushalayim and walks around with a large knitted kippah.

Arutz Sheva claims that HaYovel Ministries has "zero hidden agendas."  I'd have to agree 100%.  Nothing at all is hidden any longer.  They are right out in the open with their agendas.  They are evangelical Christians doing what Evangelical Christians do - spreading their religion.  It is the Jews who are the problem here.

There are innumerable ways this is happening today in the common culture.  The only things that don't change are HKB"H, the Holy Torah that He gave us, the Holy Language in which it is written and human nature. 

'Abrahamic' instead of 'Judeo-Christian'

...Though the Jewish roots of Christianity are clear, Jews were pariahs in pre-modern Christian Europe. As Europe gradually left behind the identity of "Christendom" from the 18th century onwards, efforts to make Jews a legitimate part of European society were a political struggle, resisted by religious conservatives and anti-Semites. In 19th-century Europe, Jews were still commonly grouped with Muslims as non-European "Semites" or "Orientals."

It was in mid-20th century America, especially after the Holocaust, that the idea of the west as Judeo-Christian gained wide acceptance. When President Dwight Eisenhower referred to the Judeo-Christian roots of "our form of government," he chose words that embraced different Christian denominations and Jews within a shared civic identity – one which contrasted with anti-Semitic and godless ideologies of fascism and communism.

This relatively benign use of the term – as an inclusive, lowest common denominator reference to the faith-based roots of western values – has since been applied by many mainstream European politicians.

But lately the term Judeo-Christian has been picked up by the radical right to serve a different political agenda. Their intent is seemingly to frame western values in a way that excludes Muslims, while at the same time distancing themselves from politically toxic associations with anti-Semitism.

...Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has at times aligned with this trend by framing Israel as the frontier of Judeo-Christian civilization against Islamist extremism. In 2017 he told European leaders: "We are part of the European culture … Europe ends in Israel."

The political scientist Samuel Huntington claimed in 1993 that a "clash of civilizations" was inevitable between Islam and the west. But his critics argue persuasively that civilizations evolve, and civilizational identities serve political agendas. Defining the west as Judeo-Christian, and in inevitable tension with Islam, is a clear political choice.

The radical right claim that Europe's Judeo-Christian values are incompatible with Islam reinforces the parallel claim of Islamists, who seek to persuade Muslims that the west and Islam are inherently in conflict.

In the Arab world there are new attempts to counter this ideology and highlight commonality between western and Islamic traditions.

In September 2020, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed historic peace agreements with Israel. These agreements are easily explained by strategic motivations, not least Arab concerns about the threat of Iran. But it was notable that the agreements were branded in religious-cultural terms as the "Abraham Accords."

This fits a wider agenda of the UAE, which announced plans in 2019 to build an interfaith Abrahamic Family House including monumental church, mosque and synagogue buildings. The country is choosing to emphasize cultural commonality between Judaism, Christianity and Islam, symbolized by Abraham who is revered by all three faiths.

Framing Jews, Christians and Muslims as part of an Abrahamic family is no less a political choice than framing Judeo-Christian and Islamic civilizations as being in conflict.

Truth be told, we don't have a real place within either of these scenarios.  Because truth be told, we are a nation that dwells alone.  We are neither East nor West.  And we are not just the sons and daughters of Avraham, not even simply the offspring of Yitzchak, but we are the Children of Yisrael/Ya'aqov.  And that makes us unique.

We are not looking for the lowest common denominator between peoples but the greatest attachment to the Creator so that we can lift up the entire world to a higher level of being.
