"DAY OF TEFILLAH " TODAY

29 Sivan 5781
Erev Rosh Chodesh Tammuz
Yom Kippur Katan

As the establishment of the Bennett-Lapid government approaches, the Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah of Shas published a letter calling for a day of tefillah on Erev Rosh Chodesh Tammuz.

“Behold darkness is covering the earth and it’s a time of tzara for Yaakov,” the letter stated. “The tzaros increase from day to day, both for individuals and the public. Hashem should save us.”

“And especially now when the haters of Hashem formed an alliance against Hashem and banded together to establish an evil government, with their entire intention to uproot the Torah and Yahadus from Am Yisrael and Eretz Yisrael.”

“Therefore we are calling to everyone in the Am HaKodesh in every location to gather together and stand up for our souls, on Wednesday, Erev Rosh Chodesh Tamuz, to cry out with a great and bitter cry in tefillah and supplications to Hashem for the yeshua of Klal Yisrael and for the swift elevation of the Keren HaTorah.”

“Atzarot tefillah and selichos will be held in the shuls and batei medrash, as well as the kriyas of perkei Tehillim: 20, 83, 121, 130, and 142. And everyone, men, women, and children in every location should at least recite these pirkei Tehillim. And everyone who is mitza’ar with the tzibur will zocheh to witness the nechama of the tzibur.”

May Hashem have mercy on His children and deliver us from this evil.

The coalition agreements of the Bennett-Lapid government were publicized this week and many of the agreements, especially that of Yisrael Beiteinu’s Avigdor Leiberman, calls for anti-religious laws to be implemented.

The agreements call for the advancement of civil marriage, transportation on Shabbos, a Reform department in the Diaspora Ministry which would grant the Reform movement a substantial budget, the advancement of laws requiring all student to learn “core” subjects, the establishment of a large egalitarian Kosel plaza, and additional laws regarding limiting the power of the Rabbanut on issues of kashrus and conversion.

The agreement with Yisrael Beiteinu also stipulates that the draft law formulated by Leiberman when he was serving as the defense minister, without any of the changes demanded by the Chareidi parties, will be implemented.

The Test of Our Times

“This is the test that HaShem has propelled us into in the time before Moshiach.  HaShem has brought many Jews back to Eretz Yisroel, and they rule it, and those who have cast off the yoke of Torah gloat as if they have accomplished this miracle with their own powers.  The more their arrogance grows, the more their audacity will burgeon, with ever-increasing desire to force their heresy on us.  This is the last, most difficult challenge of the golus.  The more we recognize this test with all its impact, the better we will understand our task – to strengthen ourselves against these physically-based, false beliefs.

“Those who stand strong against all the heresy – who, rather than being influenced, bolster their belief in HaShem and do not budge at all from the true dictates of the Torah – will merit to see the full Redemption through Moshiach.  To them will be revealed the highest levels of spiritual clarity, a knowledge of real truth – a glimpse of the light of Gan Eden.  For them will be rectified all the spiritual darkness and ‘hiding’ that has so clouded the world since the sin of Adam, and they will be granted, in the end, true completion in this world, and revelation of the greatness of HaShem’s kingdom in the World to Come….”

This is the final birur...
Religious Zionism is a house divided

Opinion: The latest political turmoil has served to accentuate the difference in ideologies that threatens to tear this community apart, pitting traditional and more liberal members who believe in unity against Haredi conservatives who see a war on Jewish values

  1. The article failed to point out that about two thirds of Bennett voters regret their choice, given the outcome. So while religious zionism encompasses a range of outlooks, the vast majority of this tribe (about 11 out of 13 mandates) still tend towards the traditional end of the spectrum, in various degrees of course, and would be horrified if ima shel shabbat were to be replaced with parent one of shabbat.

Pitting unity against Jewish values is a false dichotomy. Surely unity would include Jewish values given that the vast majority of Israeli Jews are either religious or traditional, and the so-called secular are a minority.

  2. Yasher koach for this great tefilah gathering everywhere in the world to take place. What is going on in the 'democratic medina' of Israel is a disgrace and chilul H' beyond what any words can describe. These erev rav AMALEIKIM must be ousted from the Land that they are trying to corrupt beyond recognition. May our Tefilot reach the highest Heavens and may H's Response for good to our people be immediate! There was always many negative aspects to this 'state' but never has it sunk to such a low! Every Jew who has a Jewish neshama in EY must DEMAND that it go back to at least the status quo that was.

  3. Out of curiosity, which article did Devash write the list of earth changes that will happen in the time of Mashiach, like Har Hazeitim splitting and the rest of the world being flattened in comparison to Yerushalayim?

  4. The opinion about religious zionism (is it your opinion?) is in my modest understanding almost cotrect. See, religious zionism stands between secular zionism and traditional Judaism. It stands in a place one can stand for only limited time. It has to grow, or whither. And it will grow, in the fashion it came about. It will break. To the left, the liberals, in American style, leaning to the secular post-zionists. To the right, the conservatives, leaning towards the Charedim. And in middle will sprout a new branch, of Truth.
