19 Tevet 5786
Someone wrote to me and said of the chareidim, "They come out in droves to 'protest' they don't want to go into the army and their way of life is being threatened."
My initial reaction when I read that statement: "Is their 'way of life' not also your way of life - the life of Torah and mitzvot? Are we not duty-bound to preserve the Torah way of life in any way that we can?"
I think this is coming from a very short-sighted perspective, one that does not fully grasp what is at stake here.
The IDF is considered by all Israelis to be the gateway to "integration" (assimilation) into the common culture which is anti-Torah at its core. And that is the sole reason that the State is insisting on pulling everyone into it. They do not believe for one minute that Torah-learning provides any kind of protection for the nation. They rely not on HKB"H, but only on their own ingenuity and the might of their military machine.
This apparatus is a clear and present danger to us all as it promotes licentiousness in the midst of existential war, the very thing the Torah warned us would cause HKB"H's protection to leave us. Not only that, it is filled with non-Jews, many of whom are idolaters who use their service to proselytze others to their idolatry. Modesty does not even exist! These are crimes which the Torah condemns and the State finds legitimate and deserving of legal protection.
They've come for our sons and now they are after our daughters!!

ReplyDeleteThank you for that informative post. The reason the regime (usually those who have the power) win (temporarily) is because instead of
ReplyDeletehaving the backing of the orthodox/traditional Jews standing up for the chareidim, the chareidim get demonized by them also , thus giving more power to the non-Jewish military to get their way.
These unscholarly 'religious' Jews seem to be deficient in both Torah and our history.
Isn't it obvious to these Jews what the supreme court and the higher ups in the army are doing? They don't care and just want to fit in and
not upset the regime. Maybe they are afraid that once they, c'v, take down the chareidim, they will go after the dati leumi, traditional and any Jew who truly believes in Hashem.
Of course, evil always loses at the end, but the destruction they cause in the interim is frightening. More Jews (as long as they are real Jewish neshamot) must join with our fellow chareidi Jews, who, because of them, Hashem is protecting the Land and our people!
Hopefully, our yidden will wake up! Hashem yerachem!
Also, to not forget evil always loses and is always temporary.

All three of my sons served...but I refused to send my daughter to even be a bat sherut. We heard horror stories of what goes on. Religious girls serving as a bat sherut that were sent into hospitals or other places that Arab men were able to develop relationships with them.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you look on You tube you will see stories Xian missionaries posted about religious Bat Sheruts coming to serve in facilities they are involved in. There was one horrible story that they started a facility up north for poor Jewish olim or it might have been female lone soldiers from economically disadvantaged backrounds, I cant remember exactly ( it was some disadvantaged group that would be susceptible to Xian persuasion essentially) and you see the main missionary who runs the place interviewing these religious girls about the experience. It was so disturbing his face was lit with this barely concealed glee. These missionaries whose express purpose is to convert Jews, they brag about it ...had access to multiple streams of vulnerable or susceptible Jews. It was really hard for me to watch because it is a betrayal of the highest form. It just reinforced my belief that I made the right decision to send my daughter straight to seminar, even though all her friends and classmates from the Ulpana were doing Sherut.
In the army itself, there are maamash a ton of goyim. Xian westerners that have manage to settle themselves in Israel (there are more of them than people realize) usually alongside religious Zionists in the guise of friendship and help. A lot of Xian Arabs, Druze and Bedouins are also in the army, its really disconcerting and quite alarming. The female soldiers are all over the place even in the religious units they go on "learning days" and it is female soldiers that run these programs. Essentially the army in its current state is no place for a religious Jewish boy from a yeshiva. It is not a Torah army and it is a huge spiritual risk for religious boys, they are exposed to toxic ideas on all fronts. And that is the idea to destroy the Torah world and secularize its children under the guise of army service.
