Chaim Yosef was niftar on Chai Tevet - the double reference to LIFE should remind us that death is not the end, just as the death rampant across our holy land is not the end, is not the final destination for our nation. There is hope and a future for every Jewish neshama who clings to the Torah - The Tree of Life.
The name Yosef brings to mind all the righteous qualities of Yosef HaTzaddik and especially the righteous Mashiach ben Yosef who is even now here among us, doing the work that prepares the world stage for Mashiach ben David.
I can't help but think that Chaim Yosef is even now, at his hour of judgment, pleading the case for the geulah shleimah for which he became a precious korban.
May he succeed and be one of the first to return in techiyat hameitim. Until then, his memory will remain a blessing to the entire nation.

Nonsense. These religious didn't make a peep for Hashem's honor when the toeva parades were spitting in Hashem's face in the holy city of Jerusalem... each year getting worse. They come out in droves to "protest" that they don't want to go into the army and their way of life is being threatened. What way of life is it to learn Torah and then sit quietly while toeva parades get bigger and bigger in the holy city of Jerusalem? What exactly are you learning about? I think this is Hashem's message in allowing this horrible "chareidi draft" to take place. Why are you learning? What are you learning? If it is obviously not being taken to heart and defended. It's like they will protest their right to LEARN Torah but ignore their responsibility to practice it. They were acting like animals setting fires, blocking busses and surrounding an innocent bus driver who probably thought his life was threatened. LOOK AT THE VIDEO OF THE INCIDENT THEY ARE ACTING LIKE ANIMALS. I'm sorry this boy died but they cannot behave any way they want-- threatening and bullying with FIRE and mob behavior and then cry victim! Meron was different that was a true tragedy. We all know the secular zionists hate the charieidm and want to get rid of them (nothing new under the sun) but that does not mean that the charieidm can behave with chaos and bullying and then claim to be victims. Nonsense.
ReplyDeleteFor YEARS only a handful of Kahanists protested the parade. NO ORGANIZED RELIGIOUS protest was ever made until Rav Tau's people started one recently. So, I don't think it's relevant to this event.
DeleteThere is certainly a lot of truth in what you say but again, it applies across the board. There is a message here for every Jew in the nation, not just chareidim who unfortunately learned these things from the chilonim who did them first.
Finally, when you consider how many people were out to protest, the numbers of those exhibiting bad behavior are small and we always have them with us no matter what. It's the way of the world. People are too ready to paint the entire community with the same tar and feathers, just like the world tends to do with Jews in general. You'd think we would know better.
and stop calling this a "ramming" like the terrorists do to kill innocent Jews. This Arab driver started BACKING UP AWAY FROM THESE PROTESTORS AFTER A WHILE AND THEY FOLLOWED HIM AND SURROUNDED HIM. You can see that in the video. We are commanded to pursue justice, not make it up, act like animals setting fires and surrounding bus drivers who are blocked in and cannot get out, even when they try to back up away from the MOB and then cry victim when the driver finally panics and hits the gas. We need to follow the Torah, not make up a new one where chariedim are always the innocent victims no matter what their horrible behavior.
ReplyDeleteDon't even try to defend the bus driver! He was also "surrounded" by a 30,000 pound vehicle with a locked door. Not excusing the tactics of the violent boys, but you have to have steadier nerves to drive a public bus in the capital where these unfortunate conditions are becoming more common all the time (from all sides!). You can't just "panic" with a 30,000 pound vehicle under your control. He is 100% responsible for what happened. While it might make people feel better about it to think that young Chaim Yosef might have played some part in his own death, in fact, he was reportedly not involved, just on his way home.
DeleteI don't think the driver was afraid for his life. I think he was enraged and lashed out with the weapon he had in his hands and he did not care what the end result would be.
The facts speak for themselves without any emotional spin
DeleteMy apologies for the late replies to the last batch of comments. I noted that they were submitted 14-16 hours ago. I last checked for comments 8 hours ago before I went to sleep and there was nothing, so Blogger is holding things up. I don't know how or why. It happens with them from time to time.
