THE MAKING OF MASHIACH?

  1. Mashiach ben Ephraim. Rav Mordechai Eliyahu zt"l stipulated that the Mashiach ben Ephraim who accompanies us into the Messianic Era must have a Yud Hey Vav in his first name as Yehoshua bin Nun did. Also Mashiach ben Ephraim according to the Yalkut Shimoni, must spend decades in "a Bor", in solitary confinement in one of Edom's prisons. The Yalkut specifically says ben Ephraim. So when Yehonatan was in the Bor, Rav Eliyahu zt"l added the Hey to his birth name יונתן to יהונתן. Also when the Amaleqite, the Baal John Kerry, was asked by Netanyahu to release Pollard from prison in 5774 as part of the last prisoner release of 26 men, without hesitation the Baal Kerry asked Bibi to release an additional 400 men, based on the fact that only Yosef has the koach to stare down Esav and his 400 men, a veritable force of the Evil Eye. Gematriah of עין רע is 400. Kerry was trying to prove that Pollard had no koach over those 400 murderers.

    1. Yes, I remember learning that but not about the 400. Thank you.

  2. We all need to pray for his safety, that Hashem protect him so that he doesn't become another Rabbi Meir Kahane. I think it is in OUR hands. I think Rav Kahane was killed because we did not deserve him... let's try to not make the same mistake now. If we up our level of emunah, observance, etc. perhaps we will merit a leader who is protected by Hashem!

  3. It's interesting that he is saying he is "Waiting for a leader who..." and "Waiting for a leader that..." In the Torah, we don't wait for others to do what is necessary... we ourselves have to step up. Example: "Where there is no man, be a man" and "When you see something that needs to be done, step-up and do it!" (I'm paraphrasing obviously). Unless he is saying he is "waiting for moshiach". Then again, Moshe Rabbeinu was a reluctant leader at first.....

    1. He is very apprehensive about getting involved in the Govt system as it exists right now. He will not "run for the Knesset" as Itamar BenGvir has.
The best that we can hope for is a total crash of the existing govt because of external or internal forces. Then he might take up the mantle by consensus, or Ben David will come. Then Pollard will be a major official in his Messianic govt.

  5. I had been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Jonathon Pollard in Israel, and was determined that, despite my health issues, I would make the effort to be there at the airport amongst the throngs of people welcoming him and Esther z'l home. Unfortunately we were deprived of that opportunity, but now that life has opened up again, we need to have a huge atzeret to welcome him properly and cry out for Moshiach.
