Scientists have created the ultimate GM crop: contraceptive corn. Waiving fields of maize may one day save the world from overpopulation.The pregnancy prevention plants are the handiwork of the San Diego biotechnology company Epicyte, where researchers have discovered a rare class of human antibodies that attack sperm.By isolating the genes that regulate the manufacture of these antibodies, and by putting them in corn plants, the company has created tiny horticultural factories that make contraceptives'We have a hothouse filled with corn plants that make anti-sperm antibodies,' said Epicyte president Mitch Hein.'We have also created corn plants that make antibodies against the herpes virus, so we should be able to make a plant-based jelly that not only prevents pregnancy but also blocks the spread of sexual disease.'Contraceptive corn is based on research on the rare condition, immune infertility, in which a woman makes antibodies that attack sperm.'Essentially, the antibodies are attracted to surface receptors on the sperm,' said Hein. 'They latch on and make each sperm so heavy it cannot move forward. It just shakes about as if it was doing the lambada.'Normally, biologists use bacteria to grow human proteins. However, Epicyte decided to use corn because plants have cellular structures that are much more like those of humans, making them easier to manipulate.The company, which says it will not grow the maize near other crops, says it plans to launch clinical trials of the corn in a few months.
And you don't think that 20 years later, they can't do something like this with an mRNA so-called vaccine? There's no telling who and what they can target with current technology. Jshalet - You might be shocked to know just how many others are right there with you, including me. But know this - it's exactly how we are expected to feel just before the dawn of deliverance. You know that old saying, when you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on? Just that bit more is all we need to see us through. Hashem really is the One who is ultimately ruling this world. Anything else is just an illusion. We're almost there now. We can make it!

You are not alone Jshalet, there are many like you. I listen to Rabbi Kessin's shiurim. He is amazing.
I don't know what your type is in terms of the shiurim you will like, but I mention him. You may find him informative and inspiring.
In addition, there are G-d fearing people, like yourself, who ask existential questions at the end of his shiur and he answers them.

ReplyDeleteI don't remember the source but I learned a long time ago that no one leaves Eretz Yisrael of their own free will. Those who have left were actually pushed out. The land rejected them not the other way around. That's not to say that they can never get a second chance, but if you thought you had it hard the first go-around....
ReplyDeleteWe have to remember also that when the bolsheviks came up to the Land, it was for all the wrong reasons, not giving a damn about its holiness but instead to radically change it to everything unholy, which they have done as we see for ourselves these days. The only good thing they did was to build up the Land, now it's time for them to go and for the good G-D fearing Jews to come up and settle the Land, together with the good Jews already living in the Land. Everything that happens to us or that we do and think it's our choices, it's not. Everything is from H', we are actors in His Script. May all true Jews wake up and be of one heart and mind as we were at Sinai and fulfilling Hashem's Will in our Land rejoicing together in our upcoming Holy Beit Hamikdash.
