18 Menachem Av
"Quds Day" is a yearly event which is held on the last Friday of Ramadan. It was started in 1979 in Iran by the Ayatollah Khomeini. The day's activities are meant to express solidarity with the 'Palestinian' people and to protest the continued 'occupation' of Jerusalem by Israel.
(Wikipedia) - In August 1979, the year of the Revolution, in solidarity with the Palestinians, Khomeini declared the liberation of Jerusalem a religious duty to all Muslims. He stated:
I invite Muslims all over the globe to consecrate the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as Al-Quds Day and to proclaim the international solidarity of Muslims in support of the legitimate rights of the Muslim people of Palestine. For many years, I have been notifying the Muslims of the danger posed by the usurper Israel which today has intensified its savage attacks against the Palestinian brothers and sisters, and which, in the south of Lebanon in particular, is continually bombing Palestinian homes in the hope of crushing the Palestinian struggle. I ask all the Muslims of the world and the Muslim governments to join together to sever the hand of this usurper and its supporters. I call on all the Muslims of the world to select as Al-Quds Day the last Friday in the holy month of Ramadan - which is itself a determining period and can also be the determiner of the Palestinian people’s fate - and through a ceremony demonstrating the solidarity of Muslims world-wide, announce their support for the legitimate rights of the Muslim people. I ask God Almighty for the victory of the Muslims over the infidels.
—Ayatollah Khomeini
As you can see the 'celebration' has spread worldwide and not just among Muslims, but among Jew/Israel-haters everywhere.
Four days ago, President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad...
...called for unity across the Middle East to destroy Israel, calling the city of Jerusalem the key issue in the world. [He] described Israel as “a global Zionist symbol dominating the world,” and added that “al-Quds (Jerusalem) Day is the key to solving the word's problems.
We were told that in the month of Av in 5772 we would see the revelation of Mashiach, but Hashem very often does things at the very last minute in order to allow as much time as possible for our teshuva. The month of Av is not over yet, but it will be ending on "Quds Day" which is Erev Rosh Chodesh Aleph for Elul, the beginning of the month of teshuva when "the King is in the field."
Ahmadi is right - it is all about Jerusalem and the final war will be fought over Jerusalem. Mark the 17th of August on your calendar and watch and see what will be.
