It's interesting that in the makhloket over whether Paras will take down Edom or Edom will take down Paras, Rav Sitorsky, who is in Bayswater, New Jersey, prefers the latter scenario, while I, who live in Eretz Yisrael where Edom rules and props up the Erev Rav regime, prefer the former.I see the unity between Edom (US) and Yishmael (Saudi Arabia) with the Erev Rav from within being the matchmaker as the most dire existential threat to Am Yisrael - much more than Iran.I had a thought while writing this comment. Perhaps the scenario where Edom destroys Paras was part of a geulah achisheina, while Paras destroying Edom and consequently "destroys the world" is b'ita.Rav Sitorsky seems to indicate that there is still time for a geulah achisheinah. Even Rav Kahane talked about the possibility of a geulah achisheinah in his time; however, I just read a source the other day (and I dearly wish I could remember who and where) that said the Shoah was the beginning of geulah b'ita. If I can relocate it, I'll share.
