The Million Man Atzeret

Date:   Yom Rishon, 1 Rosh Chodesh Adar II (Sunday, March 2nd)
Time:   4:00 pm
Place:  Yirmiyahu Street and expanding towards the String Bridge.

"...this will be an atzeres tefilla only and there will not be a bimah since there will not be any speeches, just the recitation of Tehillim. There will be a small podium for the person reciting tehillim." - See more at: YWN

This will be a historic event, by all reports to eclipse the 600,000 who stood against the High Court in 1999. It will take place with the approval, encouragement and participation of rabbis across the religious spectrum including the Moetzos Gedolei Yisrael of Shas, Degel Hatorah and Agudas Yisrael, and also rabbis of the dati leumi tzibur.

UPDATE to the update: (YWN)

...Agudas Yisrael in the United States has already agreed to run concurrent events, .... The same is true of the chareidi tzibur in a number of European countries...

Organizers stress the event is an atzeres tefilla, not a protest and not a rally, and the tzibur must act accordingly to be MeKadesh Shem Shomayim.

When asked if the Eida Chareidis will be attending, R’ Benny Rabinowitz, the spokesman for Maran HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita told Kol Chai Radio that he has heard from “high up sources in chassidus’ not affiliated with Agudas Yisrael, in addition to other Yerushalayim chassidim that plan to attend”.

  1. Derech Emunah Supports Hareidi Anti-Draft Rally

Rabbi Baruch Efrati, chairman of the Derech Emunah rabbis’ organization, said on Wednesday that religious Zionists should take part in the upcoming hareidi rally against the new draft law.

“The Torah is our common denominator with the hareidi public, and if we cooperate with the secular public over shared values, surely we must collaborate with the hareidi world, where the commonality is wider and deeper,” he told Arutz Sheva.

  2. Hesder Rebbi: We are All in the Same Pot

Sderot Hesder Yeshiva rebbe, Rabbi Dror Aryeh spoke with Kol Berama Chareidi Radio on Wednesday, 26 Adar I 5774. Rabbi Aryeh did not mince words, expressing absolute and total opposition to the draft law. “We are all in the same pot” he exclaimed regarding efforts to curtail limud Torah in Eretz Yisrael. “Without limud Torah there will be no nation, no state and no Land of Israel for Torah is our survival”, he added. This is an affront to all of us, not just chareidim.

...He stressed this has nothing to do about hashkafa or politics, but it has to do with Kovod Hatorah.
