Basically, the National Religious (Religious Zionist) public cries out to their Chareidi brothers in anger, "Our sons are dead and dying while yours sit safely in yeshivah. To be fair and equal, your sons should be dying right alongside ours!!!"
What a failure in thinking! Instead, let's dismantle the cult of child sacrifice that has taken hold in our Land in the name of Zionism and choose a leadership that will defeat the enemy, win the war and stop this wanton murder of our children via the war machine that is lining the pockets of the 'Elites'!!

It's good to know what's happening with the missionaries and to rouse people from their sleep, ignorance and apathy, but how does continually sniping at other Jews online actually help? Preaching to the choir, with orchestrated choruses of 'sheep, sheep', or 'Covidiots', or whatever it is, has precisely zero value, as a tool to convince or influence other people outside the echo chamber. And spiritually, it's probably just causing a lot of harm.
ReplyDeleteCan we have more discussion on how more of us can reach out to people on the other side of the fence, to gently guide them to correct conclusions, and real teshuva?
I am not criticising, you are doing good, important work here. But we also need to look at what we ourselves are doing to continue 'the problem', and picking holes in other Jews, pointlessly online is surely not achieving anything constructive. What can each of us do, ourselves, to change things? To reach out to others who are misguided or blinded?
I'm not talking about phony achdut, I'm talking about us climbing off the soapbox, and to stop patting ourselves on the back for being 'right' all the time while the rest of the nation bleeds to death. This requires a lot of thought, prayer and compassion. Lead from the front, Tomer Devorah.

DeleteJA, I don't know if you realize it or not but you make an awful lot of assumptions in your narrative. Just like this question. And it seems to me that every one of them is negative in nature. Am I expected to mount a defense to every charge laid against me? And "lead from the front"? What does that even mean in your mind? You must have been thinking something specific. I'd like to know what you envision and why you think it's appropriate.

Online discourse almost inevitably comes across as 'negative', despite the best intentions, it's one of the major drawbacks. Specifically, you are a very powerful and motivating writer, the point I was hoping to make is that your many talents could perhaps be used to focus more on encouraging us to break out of the them vs us paradigm, to work towards real solutions. The leaders on every side of the equation are worse than useless. They foment division to maintain their own power. But the real people are suffering so much. Instead of blaming, can we find a way forward where we can change something in ourselves, to break the paradigm that has us all trapped pointing fingers at others, instead of doing something ourselves, to improve the situation?

DeleteThis post is on spot. The religious zionists have a distorted view of what the Torah demands of us and that would be 'LEADERSHIP', a proper Jewish leader. By blaming other righteous Jews for their own flaws shows us they either don't understand or are really just afraid of the PTB's. Therefore, it's easier to throw the blame on the chareidim rather than themselves and admitting there are no Jewish leaders amongst the elitists and their same old failures. The Eirev Rav made sure from the beginning that the true G-D fearing patriots could never win. because they would never allow them to.

The ER have the power and would not allow those like our wonderful hilltop youth types just as they don't allow the patriotic religious generals
to reach the top.
