Erev Shabbat Kodesh
"The haftarah of Shabbat Nachamu is the first of the "seven consolations" - the seven haftarot which are read on the seven Shabbats following Tisha b'Av. These haftarot are taken from Yeshayahu and record the prophetic messages of consolation which Yeshayahu offered Israel." (Our Heritage)

A comment on Democracy:
ReplyDeleteIsraeli democracy has its many shortcomings, but a king!
Who says you get David ע"ה.
The majority were terible. Does The Torah want us to have a king?
Surely not!
Rambam---
DeleteThe 173rd commandment is to place a king of Israel over us, who will gather all our people and lead us. As it says, “You shall surely set a king over yourself” (Deut. 17:15).
Anon @ 7:07 am - are you kidding? The Torah commands to have a king, Devash points out above. The king will be the descendant of Dovid HaMelech, who will be the Moshiach. Doesn't get better than that!
