Bein Hametzarim (בין המצרים), or "Between the Straits" (often called "The Three Weeks"), is an annual period of Jewish mourning. It begins on the 17th of Tammuz (the fast commemorating the breaching of Jerusalem's walls) and culminates on Tisha B'Av, the 9th of Av (when both Holy Temples were destroyed).  (Gemini)
