In Yalkut Shimoni on Yeshayahu (Remez 499), Rabbi Yitzchak describes a specific sequence of geopolitical escalation involving Paras (Persia/Iran) during the year of Mashiach's revealing:

Global Instigation: The King of Paras begins by "taunting" or "challenging" an Arab king.
