The Families, Commemoration and Heritage Division in the Defense Ministry clarified following the government's decision to change the war's name from "Swords of Iron" to "War of Revival" that "any change to the inscriptions on fallen soldiers' tombstones will be done in full coordination with the bereaved families." Additionally, they stated that "the implementation of the government's decision will be presented to the Public Council for Soldier Commemoration, which consists of representatives of bereaved families and representative organizations." Let's remember that prior to the Shoah, Europe was the undisputed dominant cultural, economic and military center of the whole world. After the Shoah the two world superpowers of the Cold War were the two countries with the largest Jewish populations the US and Soviet Union while European countries became nations living off of American handouts, which they are to this day. After the Soviet Union made life unbearable for its Jews and they were forced to leave the Soviet Union collapsed and the post-Soviet countries are basically third world to this day. Recently Trump won his trade war with the rest of the world because America has the biggest consumer market. Let's remember that the consumer market is all the US has left as most of its industries have long since been outsourced, it's infrastructure is falling apart, it's birthrate is practically nonexistent, and many more problems besides. Basically, the American economy is held together by paperclips and rubber bands. If America forces its Jews to leave, then bye bye to the American consumer market, its stock market, and to much more.
I really feel for the Jews still in galut. Time is rapidly running out for them to be able to make it out of their respective comfort zones with any assets other than the clothes on their backs. It is clear that some will be forced out should they survive the inevitable civil unrest.
I know several young couples and families in New York that want to make aliyah but will need assistance upon arrival.
I think I need to pay a visit to Rav Richter. We need to establish a support network for new olim beyond the pathetic government programs that currently exist.
Interesting choice of word - "revival."
