"...international army..."???
Some see ominous portent in this report. I'm one of them.
Brits overrun town for training exercise
...British soldiers, all recently promoted to major, are visiting Fort Leavenworth for a three-week training course where they will work with their American counterparts on planning operations. Maj. Philip Gill, with the UK force, said that coming to Kansas was a change of scenery that added new challenges and unfamiliar issues when solving problems.
...In addition to the lessons on tactical strategy, Gill said he is looking forward to socializing and bonding with American soldiers.
...Birkett-Wendes said that was an important part of being an international army.
U.S. Troops Asked If They Would Shoot American Citizens
...The issue of whether U.S. troops would be prepared to round-up, disarm and if necessary shoot Americans who disobeyed orders during a state of martial law is a question that military chiefs have been attempting to answer for at least 15 years.
Bring on the "international army." Problem solved.

Porat Yosef Yeshiva Targeted First?
Exclusive: Another Jerusalem yeshiva was saved from Palestinian attack four days before Mercaz Harav murders
DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources reveal that just four days before a single Palestinian killer murdered 8 Mercaz Harav students in Jerusalem on March 6, two Palestinians were frightened away from another Jerusalem yeshiva, Porath Yosef, on March 2. The pair were challenged March 2 by armed security guards on the door and they are still at large.
The Jerusalem police failed to sound the alarm after the guards reported the incident. The guards described two Palestinians who appeared at Porath Yosef demanding entry with a large carton like the one in which Ala Abu Dhaim carried his assault rifle, guns and ammo four days later. They claimed they had been commissioned to do some work in the institution and quoted the names of people associated with the yeshiva. But when asked by the guards to open the box, the two Palestinians backed off saying they were going to pick up tools from their vehicle. They were not seen again.
Responding to the guards’ call, the police dismissed the incident as a misunderstanding. No alerts were circulated and Mercaz Harav did not post security guards. It was only after the massacre Thursday that the police recalled the Porath Yosef incident and realized they had missed a danger signal.
They were also forced to conclude that one or more Palestinian terror cells are on the loose in Jerusalem and could be targeting any of the hundreds of Jewish religious institutions in the city.
The security services declared an immediate general alert across the country, focusing on Jerusalem, which remains in force. The West Bank was sealed.
The investigation has so far not pinned down the organization or organizations behind the yeshiva murders. The police commissioner Dudi Cohen’s insistence that it was a one-off operation and not the opening shot of a third Palestinian uprising (intifada), as some security circles are suggesting, is not taken seriously, given the spate of violence which has erupted across the country, Jerusalem and the West Bank in the last ten days.
The Shin Bet is awaiting the results of an inquiry into Jerusalem police procedures and their failure to sound the alarm after the Porath Yosef incident.

Current Mindset Has Got to Change
Apparent Kidnapping Attempt Foiled in Moshav
(IsraelNN.com) An Arab from Jericho who grabbed two five year old children at a basketball court in Moshav Porat, in the Sharon region, was prevented from apparently kidnapping the children by residents of the moshav, who physically restrained him until police arrived. The Arab was taken in for questioning, and police are investigating the incident.
A local resident who had come to the basketball court to bring his children home noticed the Arab attempting to hold the two children. He quickly alerted neighbors, who arrived quickly and held the Arab down until police came.
This is a war!
This Arab should have been killed on the spot. How many weeks or months til he tries again and God forbid possibly succeeds!!
The State and its institutions are not protecting us. They are protecting foreign political and business interests, not the citizenry. We have to take responsibility for our own protection.

Head-shaker
Seen on a local discussion forum:
This won't be the end of this subject.
...Yesterday, shortly after the shooting, a few dozens have gathered in front of the Yeshiva and shouted "Revenge!" and "No arabs - no terror". The Rosh Yeshiva (the son of the late Rav Avrum) came out and yelled at the crowd to stop saying things that are "against the Torah". Today, in his hesped he said that Vengeance is in G-d's hands only, but we can take vengeance by building more. This is exactly the Merkaz way of thinking. And this "thinking" is what has to change if we are going to survive, if we are going to welcome Mashiach Tzidkeinu, if we are going to see the complete redemption speedily in our time.
This won't be the end of this subject.

Say that again.
Debka reports that the terrorist was "a Jerusalem Palestinian with Israeli citizenship." Say what?
Nu, Mr Lupoliansky???
And what are we commanded by the Master of the Universe to do with Amalek??? Every Jew who ever listened to Zachor knows this answer!!
Lupolianski: Students Murdered by Modern Amalek
(IsraelNN.com) Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski eulogized the slain students at Mercaz HaRav Kook yeshiva Friday, before their funeral processions began. "The murderer did not want to hurt them specifically, but [to hurt] every one of us," he said. "Our enemies have tried for years to cramp our lives; to hurt us as much as possible."
"The government has paid a heavy cost in blood," Lupolianski said, "and eight of our sons, in the largest and most glorious Torah center we have in our city, joined this long list last night."
"They came to grow stronger in the Torah and in the course of their studies they were murdered by the present day Amalek, who came back on Adar to remind us he has not gone. He has simply changed his face."
Let Their Deaths Not be in Vain
For a little while, I let myself be happy. For a few hours, I forgot about S'derot and Ofakim and Netivot and Ashkelon and qassams and katyushas and I happily anticipated the onset of Rosh Chodesh Adar Bet and the approaching holiday of Purim, pondering what I'd serve at my festive seudah.
And then came the news of the attack on Mercaz HaRav Yeshivah. My first thought was that there was a profound reason why this particular place at this particular time. Hashgacha pratit. My second thought was "Why?" And even more so as the reports came in of the celebrations going on in Gaza over the atrocity.
"Why, Hashem, when this is davka Am Yisrael's time for joy and celebration? Why should Adar turn upside down and bring them joy and gladness and not us?"
I hope I am not alone in asking this question. I hope that this will not be cause for another round of "the settler camp is holy of holies and we are chosen as sacrifices because we are the most righteous."
All evening long and again this morning, there was something nagging at the back of my mind. I kept going back to the story of "Ai" from the book of Yehoshua in the Tanakh. Thirty-six men died in battle and the leaders of the "settlement movement" went into mourning and asked God..."Why?"
The National Religious Public has set itself as the example to the nation of love of the Torah and the Land. They spearheaded the settlement movement. They represent a sizable portion of the IDF. When you set yourself as the example and yet fail in some area of it, you are the one who pays the price for failure.
Report: Terrorist worked as driver at yeshiva
Residents of east Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber say shooter who killed eight students at Jerusalem seminary Thursday was arrested by Israel four months ago, released two months later; his house demolished Friday morning
"...The involvement of Israeli Arabs in terror attacks is a problem the defense establishment has been forced to deal with quite a lot....."
The enemy was welcomed inside and given employment that enabled him to reside in Jerusalem.
"...remove the accursed thing from among you."
It bears repeating over and over and over again until someone begins to listen...
There is no "yishuv haaretz"---settling the land---without expelling the enemy from our midst!! Half a mitzvah is not a mitzvah, it's an invitation to disaster. We have reaped what we have sowed. God forgive us and open our eyes to Your Truth. Help us to return to the Torah-true path without compromise and let the deaths of our beloved children not be in vain. Amen!
UPDATE: Attack will be seen in Messianic terms
...This attack was aimed specifically for the religious Zionist and settler population, and the terrorists knew that by speaking in this language, to these people, their message could only be interpreted in one way. This will be seen in terms of Ishmael and Isaac.
Please, God, may it be so! Let the Purim "turn around" mean real teshuva.

Yehoshua, perek zayin---This morning, I found my answer to "why?" And it's the same answer to the question "Why Gush Katif?"
1. And the children of Israel committed a trespass in the consecrated thing, for Achan...took of the consecrated thing[during the conquest of Jericho]; and the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel.
2. And Joshua sent men from Jericho, to Ai,....Go up and spy out the land.....
3. And they returned to Joshua, and said to him, Do not let all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; do not trouble all the people there; for they are but few.
4. So there went up there of the people, about three thousand men; and they fled before the men of Ai.
5. And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty-six men; and they chased them from before the gate to Shebarim, and smote them in the descent; and the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.
6. And Joshua rent his clothing and fell to the earth upon his face before the Ark of the Lord until the evening, he and the elders of Israel, and they put dust upon their heads.
7. And Joshua said, Woe, O Lord God, why have You at all brought this people over the Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to cause us to perish? Would that we had been content and dwelt on the other side of the Jordan!
8. Pray, oh Lord, what shall I say, after Israel has turned their backs before their enemies?
9. For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear and shall encircle us and cut off our name from the earth; and what will You do for Your great Name?
10. And the Lord said to Joshua, Get up; why do you fall upon your face?
11. Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them; and they have also taken of the consecrated thing, and have also stolen, and also dissembled, and they have also put into their vessels.
12. And the children of Israel shall not be able to stand before their enemies; they will turn their backs before their enemies, because they have become accursed. I will not be with you anymore, if you do not destroy the consecrated thing from among you.
13. Arise, prepare the people, and say, Prepare yourselves for tomorrow; for thus says the Lord God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you will not be able to stand before your enemies, until you remove the accursed thing from among you.
