BLOCK OUT THE NOISE

5 Nissan 5786

When you think about it, it is astounding how many voices are out there in the media shouting to be heard - newscasts, podcasts, op-eds, endless analyses by "experts" presenting their views on where we are and where we are headed.  It's all just so much noise!!

I think that's why HKB"H gave us the prophecies which have been handed down to us over the centuries and millenia.  This is what will keep us on track and anchored rather than blown around by the winds of confusion created by all this noise.

For now, all we need to know is that our ancient Jewish sources tell us that when Arabia consults with Edom and they face off with Paras, there is no need to fear.  Paras will fall to Edom and we should understand from HKB"H Himself that this is the sign of our imminent redemption.

For this moment in time, this is all we need to know.

will be redeemed." ~

Going "Home" ... to Egypt!

2 Nissan 5786
Erev Shabbat Kodesh
Parashat Vayikra

Not picking on any particular group - a lot of different groups took this route heading "home."  I empathize especially with children who need to rejoin their families in chu"l.  But, no one can miss the tragic irony of this - that this particular episode is happening right before Pesach.

Amid the closure of Israeli airspace due to the war, the Ichud Bnei HaYeshivos organization carried out a complex logistical operation to bring hundreds of French bnei yeshivos, stranded in Israel due to the war, back to their homes.

The Ichud, which recently expanded its work outside Israel, arranged the journey, which began in Jerusalem, continued via Sharm el-Sheikh, and is set to conclude in the French Alps, where a historic Shabbos will be held, led by HaGaon HaRav Dovid Cohen, the Rosh Yeshivah of Chevron.

The journey began late at night, as around 200 French yeshiva bochurim gathered in the Bayit Vegan neighborhood of Jerusalem, where a fleet of buses awaited them. The convoy then traveled south to the Taba border crossing, where they crossed into Egypt under the supervision of representatives from the French Embassy.  (Source)

Vayikra: From the desert to the ends of the earth
by Daniel Pinner

Having completed the building of the Mishkan at the end of the Book of Exodus, the Book of Leviticus continues very naturally with the functioning of the Mishkan“When He called to Moshe, Hashem spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting…” (Leviticus 1:1).

The Midrash (Sifra, Vayikra 1) notes the sequence here: God first “called to Moshe”, and then “He spoke to him”. And then the Sifra goes on to note that this is the third of three occasions when God first called to Moshe and then spoke to him.

The first time was about two years earlier at the Burning Bush, when Moshe was still exiled from his nation, a humble shepherd tending the flocks of his father-in-law Yitro (Jethro). When God saw that Moshe had turned aside to behold the wonder, “God called to him from the midst of the bush, and He said, Moshe, Moshe” (Exodus 3:4).

The second time was at Mount Sinai, immediately before the Giving of the Torah: “Hashem called Moshe to the peak of the Mountain, and Moshe ascended; and Hashem said to Moshe: Go down, warn the nation lest they break through to Hashem to gaze” (Exodus 19:20-21).

The obvious question that arises from here is: what do these three events (the Burning Bush, the Giving of the Torah, and the beginning of the Mishkan’s functioning) have in common?

The simplest and most obvious answer is that all of these were events which were intimately connected with Israel’s redemption. The process of redemption from Egypt began when God revealed Himself to Moshe at the Burning Bush; the purpose of redemption was the Giving of the Torah (1); and the building of the Mishkan was the pinnacle of the redemption (2).

It is significant that Rabbi Shimon bar Yochay, one of the greatest of first-generation (mid-3rd century) Tannaim in the Land of Israel, cited these three occasions as examples of when God bestowed His glory on the Elders of Israel: “We have learned in a few places that God gave honour to the Elders. At the Burning Bush, as it is written ‘God said to Moshe…, Go and assemble the Elders of Israel’ (Exodus 3:15-16); at Sinai, as it is written ‘To Moshe He said, Go up to Hashem, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the Elders of Israel’ (Exodus 24:1); and at the Tent of Meeting, as it is written ‘It happened on the eighth day [of the Inauguration of the Mishkan] that Moshe called Aaron and his sons and the Elders of Israel’ (Leviticus 9:1)” (Shemot Rabbah 5:12).

So on the three separate occasions which were the three milestones on the road from Egyptian slavery to redemption, God first called to Moshe and then spoke to him. And on those same three occasions He gave honour to the Elders of Israel.

The Midrash (Shemot Rabbah 5:12) continues: And in the future time to come, it will be the same, as it says ‘When Hashem, Lord of Legions, will reign in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, there will be glory for His elders’ (Isaiah 24:23). Rabbi Avin said: In the future God will seat the Elders as on a threshing-floor, with Himself sitting as the head of them all as the President of the Court, and they will judge the idolaters, as it says ‘Hashem will enter into judgment with the elders of His nation and its princes’ (Isaiah 3:14). It does not say [that He will enter into judgment] 'against the elders of His nation’ but rather ‘with the elders of His nation’: He will sit with them and judge the idolaters”.

We pause here to explain the somewhat cryptic reference to the Elders sitting “as on a threshing-floor”. The Mishnah records that “the Sanhedrin would sit in the shape of a semicircular threshing-floor so that they could see one another” (Sanhedrin 4:3).

This refers specifically to the Great Sanhedrin, the Supreme Court of Israel, which would sit in the Chamber of Hewn Stone in the Holy Temple. (Every town and city with more than 120 adult men would have its own Minor Sanhedrin of 23 judges, and every village with fewer than 120 adult men would have a court of three judges.)

Of the 71 Judges on the Great Sanhedrin, 69 would sit in three concentric semicircles of 23 each. Facing them were the Nasi (the President of the Court), and to his right the Av Beit Din (Father of the Court). The Nasi was the leader; the Av Beit Din was the second in charge (Rambam, Laws of the Sanhedrin 1:3).

So the Midrash looks back on three landmark events in the first redemption, the redemption from Egypt, when God called to Moshe and then spoke to him, which were the three times when He gave honour to the Elders of Israel.

Our parashah opens with the third of these occasions – when the Mishkan began to function.

And the Midrash then looks forward to the time of the final redemption – may it come speedily! – when God will again give honour to the Elders of Israel. And though then, at the time of the first redemption, the Elders’ honour was manifest only to Israel, in the time to come their honour will suffuse the entire world. After all, only thus will they be able to stand with God Himself, so to speak, to judge all the idolaters in the world.

And this is logical. After all, 3,325 years ago in the desert, God gave honour to the Elders of Israel in the Mishkan, which holy though it was, was but a precursor to the Holy Temple which would only be built 479 years later by King Solomon. The second Holy Temple, the one built by Ezra and Nehemiah, had a lower level of sanctity than that of King Solomon.

But the third Holy Temple, the one destined to stand for all time, the Holy Temple which the prophet Ezekiel depicts so graphically in chapters 40 to 44, will be far grander and more magnificent, and have a far higher level of sanctity, than those which came before.

So it is entirely fitting that in that third Holy Temple, God Himself will stand, so to speak, as the Leader of the Sanhedrin, to administer ultimate justice, not only to Israel, but to the entire world.

It is then that Israel will truly be a light unto the nations. In the words of the prophet Isaiah in one of his magnificent, majestic depictions of the messianic era, “I am Hashem, I have called you with righteousness and I will strengthen your hand; I have fashioned you, and I will make you for a covenant with the nation, as a light to nations” (Isaiah 42:6).

And again: “Then He said: It is not enough for you to be My servant, to establish the Tribes of Jacob and to bring back the besieged of Israel; I will also make you a light to nations, that My salvation shall be unto the ends of the earth” (Isaiah 49:6).

Endnotes:

(1) We expounded on this idea in detail in a previous D’var Torah on Shavuot

(2) Last week, in the context of Parashat Pekudey/Shabbat Shekalim, we cited the Ramban’s Introduction to the Book of Exodus: “The [Egyptian] exile was not ended until the day of their return to their place, and when they were restored to their forefathers’ level. When they left Egypt, even though they had left the house of slavery, they were still considered exiles, because they were ‘in a land not theirs’, wandering through the desert. And when they came to Mount Sinai and built the Mishkan, and God restored His Divine Presence to their midst, then they were restored to their Forefathers’ level…and then they were considered redeemed”.

The Technology-god Is Mortal

1 Nissan 5786
Rosh Chodesh

Y2K was not a joke, certainly not at the time.  I was working in the technology sector back then and I saw the feverish effort to thwart the threat up close.  I always recalled that it was an Israeli who came up with an idea for a fix (around October?), but in later years, when I would bring that up, people acted as if they had no idea what I was talking about.  It was apparently not widely known and was subsequently lost in the rush to portray Y2K as a laughable conspiracy theory.

I remembered all this today when I came across this article in the JPost...

So, I asked Google AI the following question, below is its response...

"With regard to Y2K, I recall from the time period that an Israeli man found an actual fix and it was immplemented, forestalling any ill effects. Can you find a record of that and perhaps the man's name?"
Based on records from the late 1990s, the Israeli man you are likely recalling is Erez Dunietz, who developed a software solution called Sapir 2000.  (WIRED)

While no single person "fixed" Y2K globally—as it required the effort of hundreds of thousands of programmers worldwide—Dunietz's story was notable because he was not a formally trained computer scientist; he was an administrator at a Jewish university in Jerusalem who claimed to have found a "revolutionary" way to address the bug.

Key Details of the "Fix"
  • The Software: Known as Sapir 2000, the program was designed to automate the process of finding, fixing, and verifying date-related code.
  • Performance: In testing conducted by the Israeli Ministry of Science, the software reportedly fixed and verified 400 programs and 400,000 lines of code in just one month.
  • Implementation: The solution was initially marketed to the local Israeli market by Magic Software Enterprises, with plans for a global rollout if it proved viable.
  • The Context: At the time, Israeli institutions were investing heavily in Y2K preparations, with major banks spending over $100 million combined to ensure their systems were compliant.
It is important to note that while Sapir 2000 was a significant local success, the overall "forestalling of ill effects" was the result of a massive, decentralized global effort that involved rewriting legacy code (like COBOL), implementing "windowing" (treating years 00-20 as the 2000s), or replacing hardware entirely.  (National Geographic)

"And Paras Destroys the World..."

1 Nissan 5786
Rosh Chodesh

"...and the king of Persia returns and lays waste to the entire world, and the nations of the world are shaken and terrified and fall on their faces, and pangs seize them like the pangs of a woman in labor, and Israel is shaken and terrified."

And now we know how it happens because it happened yesterday...

Iran launched a series of retaliatory strikes against the vital energy infrastructure in nearby Gulf states after Israel hit its largest gas field Wednesday -- a "dangerous escalation" that deepened the crisis and sent oil prices surging.

In response to Israel's initial strike, Iran issued evacuation orders for several energy assets in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, saying the facilities had become "direct and legitimate targets," according to semi-official Mehr News Agency.

...Among the retaliatory strikes, Iran hit the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at Ras Laffan in Qatar -- the most serious attack on the country's energy facilities since the start of the war.  (Source)

Based on reports from March 18–19, 2026, Iran hit Qatar's Ras Laffan Industrial City, the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) export hub, with missiles, causing significant fires and damage. This halted production at the facility—which accounts for ~20% of global supply—forcing QatarEnergy to declare force majeure and disrupting global energy markets.  (Source: Google)

Based on developments as of March 2026, the bombing of energy infrastructure—specifically within the Middle East—is causing a severe, immediate, and potentially long-term shock to the global economy. The destruction of key facilities in Iran and Qatar, along with threats to the Strait of Hormuz, has led to a significant supply shock, which analysts say could be on par with the demand disruption during COVID-19.

Key economic fallouts include:
  • Surging Energy Prices and Inflation: Oil prices have increased more than 50 percent, with Brent crude surpassing $100–$112 per barrel following attacks on Qatar's Ras Laffan LNG facility and Iranian oil infrastructure. This surge is increasing global inflation and threatening to trigger a "second energy supply shock in just four years," per reports from March 2026.
  • Stagflation Risk: The combination of higher energy costs and reduced supply, if sustained, raises the risk of "stagflation"—the combination of high inflation and weak economic growth—which is difficult for central banks to manage.
  • Supply Chain Disruptions & Shipping Shutdowns: The effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world's oil trades, has severely hindered maritime traffic. This leads to shortages of fuel, higher insurance premiums, and longer, more expensive shipping routes.
  • Industrial Output Curtailment: Energy-intensive industries, especially in Asia and Europe, are slowing down production due to feedstock shortages and high energy costs, with chemicals and plastic output experiencing disruptions.
  • Financial Market Volatility: Global stocks, particularly in Asia, have dropped, and investor confidence has weakened as the war raises questions about the security of critical energy infrastructure.
  • Long-Term Infrastructure Damage: Analysts warn that damage to production facilities can take years to repair, ensuring that the supply shortages could persist even after hostilities end.
The crisis has led to an unprecedented release of 400 million barrels of oil from global reserves, but even this is expected to only provide temporary relief in the face of structural, intentional destruction of energy assets.  (Source: Google)

Hitoreri Makes a Valid Point in the Comments

29 Adar 5786
Yom Kippur Katan
Erev Rosh Chodesh

But rather than take it down, I'll edit it for better clarity because I think it is important to know and discuss.  Not for those who know nothing about such things, but for those who are exposed to all the other narratives on social media and may experience confusion.

So, the internet is on fire over a series of AI-generated videos claiming to show proof-of-life for the Israeli Prime Minister after unexplained absences from both public view, as well as important security meetings, basically since the renewal of the war with Iran.  The enemies of Israel are claiming the worst, that he may no longer be alive.  However, it is entirely possible that he may have become incapacitated for whatever reason and simply is unfit to appear in public.  Given the nature of "deep-fake" videos, it is pointless to keep offering additional manipulated images.  Also, if the real reason is that his life is in imminent danger, why show him out and about with people as if he hadn't a care in the world.  It's illogical.

All told something very suspicious is definitely going on.  Since we have no idea who or why, we have to be alert that something may be coming that we would be ill-advised to accept without question.

This is another case in point.  Someone has purposely mistranslated the Prime Minister's words to make it appear that he subscribes to the Chr*stian idea of a "returning messiah."

He is actually saying that while the war may last until "yemot hamashiach," that's not going to be "next Thursday".   It won't be over so quickly.  However, this connects directly to a claim by a Rav from Bnei Braq that the Mashiach's arrival is going to be announced on Rosh Chodesh Nissan - this Thursday.

Again, we have to ask "why" and "what is the connection, if any, to the Prime Minister and his whereabouts?  Because everything that is happening right now is following a script that is meant eventually to bring all of humanity to false conclusions.

On the other hand, the world seems currently to be obsessed with talk of the anti-messiah and that is who they are looking for while we look for our true and righteous Mashiach.

Who knows?  Maybe the Bnei Braq Rav really knows something.

STAY TUNED - DON'T BE FOOLED!!

Drastic Price Reduction!

26 Adar 5786
Shavua tov!

WASHINGTON (AP) — The State Department has slashed by about 80% the fee for Americans to formally renounce their U.S. citizenship.

After years of legal battles with several groups representing Americans wanting to give up their citizenship, the department on Friday published a final rule in the Federal Register that reduces the cost from $2,350 to $450.

The new fee, which took effect on Friday, had been promised in 2023 but had never been implemented. The cost is now the same as it was when the State Department first started charging Americans to formally renounce their citizenship in 2010.

Renouncing U.S. citizenship can be an intensive and lengthy process. Applicants must repeatedly confirm in multiple written and verbal attestations to a State Department consular officer that they understand the implications of the step before being allowed to take a formal oath of renunciation. It must then be reviewed by the department.

The fee was raised from $450 to $2,350 in 2015 to cover the administrative expenses as the number of people wanting to renounce their citizenship surged in part due to new U.S. tax reporting requirements for American expatriates that angered many.

That dramatic fee increase drew significant opposition from groups such as the France-based Association of Accidental Americans, which represents people mainly living abroad whose U.S. citizenship is due purely to their having been born in the United States.

The association filed several lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the fee, including one that remains pending that argues there should be no cost at all for renouncing one’s citizenship.

“The Association of Accidental Americans welcomes this decision, which acknowledges the necessity of making this fundamental right accessible to all,” its president, Fabien Lehagre, said in a statement. “This victory is the direct result of six years of relentless legal action and advocacy.”  (Source)

When Shabbat Candlelighting is at 5:10 pm...

24 Adar 5786
Erev Shabbat Kodesh
Prashat Vayakhel - Pekudei/
     HaChodesh - Mevarchim

It appears that my dream about the full moon and "Death Comes From the Sky" may have been realized at the beginning of this current missile exchange - 'death' began raining from the sky from missiles launched out of Iran, and aimed at Tel Aviv, two days before Purim.  Now, two weeks later, there is another sign from a series of dreams I had during that original time frame (2004-2005).

I wrote about it before in great detail, but I'll try to put it into a nutshell now.  It was a recurring dream that I experienced four times and then a fifth time a full year after the series of four.  Each time, it was on Erev Shabbat.  Each time, I "woke up" late to the fact that it was Shabbat, surprised not to realize it and disturbed that I was unprepared - nothing was ready.  The food had not even been bought, much less cooked.  Each time the dream begins, the clock shows a later hour - first 11 am, then progressing to 1 pm, then 3 pm and then 5:10 pm.  On the last one, I was talking to a friend with absolutely no thought to Shabbat when a siren blew and I was confused and asking what it could be and the friend said it's the Shabbat siren.  It was timet to light candles.

The series of dreams stopped and it was about a year later that it occurred one last time and it started with the clock at 5:10 pm; me unaware that Shabbat was arriving, then aggrieved that all of the time for preparation was over and I was now stuck in the situation as it was at that moment.

My sense was always that Shabbat in these dreams was the Geulah itself.

If I'm right, like the events that began two weeks ago, we are at another major turning point for the Geulah Shleimah.  Be alert!  Be aware!  The old world is ending and a new one waits to begin.

"Who And What Are Really Precious Before G-d?"

24 Adar 5786
Erev Shabbat Kodesh
Prashat Vayakhel - Pekudei/
     HaChodesh - Mevarchim

(Re-posting)

 BS"D

YESHIVAT HARA'AYON HAYEHUDI
Jerusalem, Israel
HaRav Yehuda Kreuser SHLIT"A, Rosh Yeshiva

PARSHAT VAYAKHEL-PEKUDEI/SHABBAT HACHODESH
27 Adar 5770/12-13 March 2010

WHO AND WHAT ARE REALLY PRECIOUS BEFORE G-D?

"And every wise-hearted man among you shall come and make all that the L-rd has commanded, the tabernacle, its tent and its cover, its clasp, and its board, its bar, its pillars, the table and its poles, and all its vessels, and the show bread, the candlesticks and its vessels, and its lamp, the altar ... "

Once again the Torah, in the last two parshiot of the book of Exodus, goes over the very detailed laws of the building of the Tabernacle and the making of the Priestly garments. The question that comes to mind is: Why, why would the Torah bother to once again go over all the details of the Tabernacle and garments and repeat who made them, "Bezalel ben Uri ben Chur", when we have just been told that in the past few parshiot? Why does the Torah repeat itself, especially in light of the fact that the Tabernacle, replaced by the Temple in Jerusalem, will never be built and used again?

We find something similar in the book of Genesis, when Abraham sent his servant, the Damascene, Eliezer to find a wife for his son Yitzchak. The Torah relates to us Eliezer's miraculous journey and his self-made test to find a suitable mate for Yitzchak. Then, as if we have never just heard the account, the Torah goes on and re-tells the story again, with all its details. Rashi comments that the acts of the Patriarchs are so dear to G-d that the Torah repeats them, while other principals in the Torah, complex as they may be, are only hinted at in the text.

We must conclude that the repeating of the works of the Tabernacle and the Priestly garments in our parshiot comes to teach us the endearment which the Creator of the world holds for these works. Not only are more than half of the Torah commandments connected directly or indirectly with the Temple service, but we also find that the Mishna teaches us that the world stands on three foundations: Torah study, kindness and the Priestly service.

It comes, then, as no surprise that we find in the books of Ezra and Nechemiah the list of the Jewish people who returned to the Land of Israel at the beginning of the Second Temple period. After being given permission by Koresh, king of Paras, to return and rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem, the texts go on to list the families who came back home. Pathetically, they numbered only a faction of the entire population, most of who preferred to remain in the exiles. Interestingly, though, the text lists the names of each family that returned and their possessions: "Their horses were seven hundred and thirty six, their mules two hundred and forty five, their camels four hundred and thirty five . . . " (Ezra 2/66). Now, do we really care how many horses or camels they had, that it got listed in the Bible for all eternity??? The equivalent of this would be to list today the Cohen family, who came back to Israel from Baltimore, Maryland with their Chevrolet, does anyone care what car they brought with them when they made aliya? Doesn't seem to make much sense. Rather, once again we see how dear the returnees were to Hashem, that each individual family is listed with their possessions, for all eternity.

Even more astounding is the fact that these very same families that returned in Ezra's time were not really the cream of the crop, to say the least. The people who came from "Tel Melach" were called so because their deeds were like the deeds of the people of Sodom, hence the word "melach", which means salt. "Tel Charsha", which means "deaf", were called so because the people from that city were like deaf people who did not know who their father or mother were. There were Cana'anite slaves, mamzerim, priests who were unfit to work in the Temple service, and a great many who had married foreign wives. Still, the book of Ezra calls them "Cherub", which was the holy angel-like figure over the Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies. The Talmud explains that in spite of the fact that these returnees were not very righteous, they were regarded before Hashem like the holy "Cherubim". Why? How is that possible? Because they returned to the Land of Israel and helped in the rebuilding of the Temple - they were cherished by G-d!

Well, you ask, what about all the others who stayed in Babylon and the other exiles, all those "righteous Jews"- like today, those who do not return to take part in the Redemption process have absolutely no part in it. All those who stayed were lost to the Jewish people within a few generations.

People, wake up! The Torah in our parsha repeats the all-important work of the Temple service to teach us just how important it is before He who Created this world. And Ezra lists the returnees to the Land in spite of their debased deeds, because they are precious before Hashem. Want to be loved by Hashem? All it takes today is to get on that plane and come home.

Blessings,
Levi Chazen

Is This Iran Celebrating the Holiest Night of Ramadan?

23 Adar 5786

THE NIGHT OF POWER!!!

In Iran, "Night of Power" (Laylat al-Qadr or Shab-e Qadr) typically refers to the holiest nights of Ramadan.

Religious Significance (Laylat al-Qadr)

In Iranian Shia tradition, the Night of Power is observed on the 19th, 21st, and 23rd nights of Ramadan.

The 23rd Night: Generally considered the most likely date for the actual "Night of Power".

Practices: Iranians typically stay awake until dawn (Ahya), reciting the Quran, performing special supplications like Jawshan al-Kabir, and often holding the Quran on their heads in prayer.

HASHEM YERACHEM ALEYNU

Who Is Afraid of a Rebuilt Temple?

22 Adar 5786

Previously, I have written about the three wars of GoguMagog being connected to Land of Israel (WW1); People of Israel (WW2); and, Torah of Israel (WW3).  That's why the third war was launched on Simchat Torah and was called the Al Aqsa Flood by the Arab enemy.

Make no mistake!  That war did not end and a new one with Iran begin!  This is still the same war, but expanded.  And while everyone was looking the other way, we were invaded by the US military and the Israeli regime is still waging their own war on Torah...

A dramatic development unfolded Tuesday in Bnei Brak when an inspector from Israel’s Ministry of Education arrived at Ponovezh Yeshiva L’Tzeirim on Rechov Harav Meltzer and delivered an immediate closure order, claiming that operating the yeshiva during wartime places the talmidim at risk. The yeshiva administration is expected to appeal the decision.

Security forces operated overnight to enforce against illegal Israeli construction in the Khirbet Abu Falah area in Samaria, Almoriyir in Binyamin and Rashidat in Gush Etzion. The construction was carried out in violation of the law on Area B and on private Palestinian land, and the evacuation was conducted in accordance with a security order signed by the Central Command.

Already, once again, Trump is talking about stopping short of winning (The 31st of March: Trump’s Secret Deadline for Ending the War in Iran).  There are American "boots on the ground" in Israel and they are here to ensure that Israel does not win this war, that Israel can't win this war, but they are doomed to fail.

The three wars of GoguMagog also correspond to the three ascending levels of kedushah in the Land.

  1. The whole Land of Israel.
  2. The area of Yerushalayim.
  3. The area of Har Habayit.

We have gained control over each level in succession.  It is no coincidence that (whether you agree with it or not) Jewish "rights" have been expanded on Har Habayit

As of early 2026, Jewish prayer rights on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem have significantly expanded, marking a major shift in the decades-old "status quo" that previously prohibited non-Muslim worship at the site. This shift, driven by far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and supported by police, has moved from quiet, forbidden prayer to openly permitted, structured rituals.

Key Expansions in 2026

Permitted Prayer Sheets: In January 2026, Israeli police began allowing Jewish visitors to bring authorized, printed, single-page prayer sheets (containing the Amidah) onto the Temple Mount for the first time in years.

Public Prayer & Prostration: Jewish visitors are now often permitted to pray audibly and, in certain areas of the eastern side of the compound, to perform full prostration.

Structured Access: These, actions, previously met with immediate expulsion or arrest, are now officially sanctioned and, in some cases, guided by staff from the Temple Mount Yeshiva.

Increased Visitors: The number of Jewish visitors has risen, with approximately 68,429 ascending the mount in the Hebrew year ending in September 2025, a 22% increase from the previous year.  (Source:  Google)

And then there is this - during Ramadan!!!

As of March 6, 2026, Israel has closed the Temple Mount (Al-Aqsa Mosque compound) to worshippers and visitors of all faiths, including for Friday Ramadan prayers, due to safety precautions amid the ongoing war with Iran. (Source:  Google)
Why do you think there is a sudden obsession among the worst antisemites alive right now with the subject of the Temple Mount?

The former Fox News host alleged the movement is behind inciting a religious war to rebuild the Jewish temple on Jerusalem's Temple Mount. A Chabad spokesperson called the claims a 'dangerous blood libel'

Why is HKB"H bringing such attention to this right now???  Because we are reaching The End and nothing can stop it now.

Third Temple Patch Worn by IDF Soldiers

Since the start of the war, the IDF has noticed a growing trend of soldiers attaching non-approved symbols to their uniforms, leading to concern, Maariv reported this week.

One such incident occurred when [former] IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi visited Golani Brigade combat forces ... in southern Lebanon.

He met a soldier who had put a “Messiah” patch on his uniform during his visit. The symbol is associated with Chabad-Lubavitch.

Halevi approached the soldier, removed the patch, and placed it in the soldier’s shirt pocket. He explained that if the patch was important to him, the soldier could keep it in his pocket, but it should not be displayed on the official uniform.

“Only military insignia on the uniform,” the chief of staff said firmly.

When the time for redemption arrives,
no power on earth can stop it!

Is This What We Have Been Watching For?

20 Adar 5786

An article appeared today, in both Hebrew and in English, which I believe corresponds to an important signpost predicted to herald our redemption.  I wonder if anyone caught something like that today.  Did you?  Care to share?

From Alliance to UNITY With the Enemy

17 Adar 5786
Erev Shabbat Kodesh
Parashat Ki Tisa - Parah

After all that has come out in recent days about the "Crusader" nature of this war for many American soldiers and their leaders...

"This Shabbat, in synagogues, we will pray for the safety of IDF soldiers and for the safety of U.S. soldiers."
This is a bigger existential threat than Iran's missiles!!!  Welcome to Judeo-Chr*stianity - today's Golden Calf!!!

(Re-posting from 5778/2018)...

What A Shame!

Parashat Ki Tisa

Shame is out of fashion. It is an emotion to be avoided at all costs. The modern world makes it out to be extremely negative, even harmful - not healthy. But, like everything God created, it has its purpose and its place and there are times when it is appropriate.

Despite the joyous outcome of the Purim story, we have to feel a bit shameful in regard to how our ancestors behaved at Achashverosh's banquet. It was a celebration of the (perceived) failure of the prophecy of the return of the Jewish people to Eretz Yisrael. And to top it off, the king wore the clothing of the Cohen Gadol and ate and drank from the keilim used in the service of the Beit Hamikdash. I'm sure he reasoned (erroneously) that since the Jews would not be returning, they would have no further use for them anyway.

Right on the heels of that story, we move into Shabbat - Parashat Ki Tisa which recounts what I consider to be one of the two most shameful events of our history - the incident with the Golden Calf. (The second being the crying and refusal to enter Eretz Yisrael on the first Tisha b'Av.)

We have to hang our heads in shame when we recall our abominable behavior at the moment which should have been the pinnacle of our success in the aftermath of our redemption from Egyptian bondage. And what we put poor Moshe Rabeinu through after all he had sacrificed for the nation!

Unfaithfulness, ingratitude, fearfulness - these are traits to be ashamed of for sure. But, shame is only a negative when it fails to elicit the desired response for which it was created. It is supposed to inspire us to act - to change these negative traits into their positive opposites. If it inspires teshuvah, as it was intended to, then it serves the purpose for which the Creator intended and everyone benefits.

It is entirely appropriate at this moment in time to ask ourselves whether we are still eating from Acheshverosh's table today; are we still dancing around the Golden Calf today?

As we read the parashah, we should allow ourselves to experience the shame of failure to live up to HKB"H's ideal for us and then allow it to infuse us with a new determination to rectify that failure and begin - today - to live up to the ideal.

"For My Name's Sake"

Parashat Ki Tisa - Parah

For My Name's sake
Rabbi Meir Kahane

Moses pleaded before Hashem, his G-d, and said, “Why, Hashem, should Your anger flare up against Your people, whom You have taken out of the land of Egypt, with great power and a strong hand? Why should Egypt say the following: 'With evil intent did He take them out, to kill them in the mountains and to annihilate them from the face of the earth' ? Relent from Your flaring anger and reconsider regarding the evil against Your people. (Ex. 32:11,12) Hashem reconsidered regarding the evil that He declared He would do to His people. (Ex. 32:14)

[Similarly, we find in Ezekiel 20:5, 21-22]: But the children rebelled against Me. They walked not in My statutes nor kept My ordinances which if a man do, he shall live by them. [...] I said I would pour out My wrath on them, to spend My anger on them in the wilderness. Yet I withdrew My hand and acted for My Name's sake, lest it be profaned in the sight of the nations in whose sight I brought them forth.

This last quotation, regarding Israel's sins in the wilderness and G-d's decision not to destroy them lest His Name be profaned, relates to the sins of the golden calf and of the spies. The golden calf was an unbearably grave sin, and part of its punishment attaches itself to every single punishment brought upon the Jewish People, as our sages said (Sanhedrin 102a): There is no punishment that comes to the world which does not contain a minuscule portion of the [punishment for the] golden calf, as it says (Ex. 32:34), “On the day I visit, I will take this sin of theirs into account.”G-d was furious at a nation which, less than forty days after He revealed Himself at Sinai and they said they would first fulfill the Torah and only then seek explanations, exchanged their glory “for the likeness of an ox that eats grass” (Ps. 106:20). G-d decided to destroy this sinful nation, as it says (Ex. 32:10), “Now do not try to stop Me when I unleash My wrath against them to destroy them” and (Deut. 9:14), “Leave Me alone and I will destroy them, obliterating their name from under the heavens.” Moses, in his infinite love for the Jewish People, prostrated himself in prayer and entreaty for forty days and forty nights to tear up the evil decree, and none of his arguments had any effect – except for one!

It says (Deut. 9:25-29): Because the L-rd said He would destroy you, I threw myself down before Him for forty days and forty nights. My prayer to the L-rd was, “L-rd G-d! Do not destroy Your nation and heritage, which You liberated with Your greatness and which You brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand. Remember Your servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Pay not attention to the stubbornness of this nation or to their wickedness and sin. Do not let the land from which You took them say, 'The L-rd brought them out to kill them in the desert, because He hated them and was powerless to bring them to the land He promised them.' After all, they are Your people and Your heritage. You brought them out with Your great power and Your outstretched arm.”

“Powerless!” Moses, the faithful shepherd who sacrificed himself for his love of Israel, entreated G-d on behalf of his people and cried out his last argument: “What will the nations say, in ridicule and mockery? Surely they will curse and blaspheme G-d, scornfully claiming that He is 'powerless'”. Israel were the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, chosen to be G-d's holy treasure, His special nation. Their destruction would have constituted G-d's reneging on His covenant due to inability to fulfill it. For this reason alone, “G-d refrained from doing the evil that He planned for His people” (Ex. 32:14).

[About 1400 years later,] R. Yishmael ben Elisha was the last Kohen Gadol before the destruction of the Second Temple. It was clear to R. Yishmael in his holiness and divine inspiration that G-d was about to pour out His wrath on His nation, His land and His Temple. [See] Berachot 7a: One time I entered the Holy of Holies to bring the incense, and there I saw Akatriel Y-H, the L-rd of Hosts, sitting on a high and lofty throne. He said to me, “Yishmael, My son, bless me!” and I said to Him, “May it be Your will that Your mercy should conquer and override Your anger, and You should treat Your children with mercy, going beyond the letter of the law,” and He nodded His head to me. These words are hard to understand [...]. Does G-d need a blessing from mortal man on Yom Kippur, when He judges and rules over the whole world? Even stranger is R. Ishmael's blessing. How did he know that G-d would find it favorable? R. Yishmael knew that G-d was about to destroy His Temple and exile His children, which would lead to terrible Chilul Hashem. The nations' derisive question, “Where is their G-d?” would deprive G-d of His sovereignty, and He, too, would be in exile and servitude, so to speak. R. Yishmael understood that in this “zero hour”, G-d desired a solution that would spare His having to profane His name through the exile of His children and destruction of His Temple.

[We learn from this that for the sanctification of His Name, G-d is even willing to forgo strict justice. But if, so to speak, G-d can overcome himself and bridle His anger for His Name's sake, this must be reciprocated by us overcoming ourselves, even our love for others and our personal values, for His Name's sake and His eternal values]

When Moses saw the terrible Chilul Hashem of the golden calf episode, in which “they exchanged their glory for the likeness of an ox that consumes grass” (Ps. 106:20), he immediately understood that only self-sacrifice and Kiddush Hashem would save Israel from G-d's ire. It therefore says (Ex. 32:26-27, 29): [Moses] announced, “Whoever is for the L-rd, join me!” All the Leviim gathered around him. He said to them, “This is what the L-rd G-d of Israel says: Let each man put on his sword ... Let each one kill [all those involved in the idolatry], even his own brother, close friend or relative”... Moses said, “Today you shall be spiritually completed as a tribe dedicated to the L-rd, with a special blessing. Men have been willing to kill even their own sons and brothers [at G-d's command].”

Because of the self-sacrifice and Kiddush Hashem of the Leviim, which demonstrated their complete trust in G-d, G-d replaced the firstborn, chosen originally to be G-d's priests, with Leviim: “I have now taken the Leviim in place of all the firstborn Israelites” (Num. 8:18) G-d did this only because they had reached the pinnacle of self-sacrifice and Kiddush Hashem, when they were ready to kill their relatives and parents. This act demonstrated that their love of G-d superseded even their love for their most cherished relative. Following is Ramban (Ibid., v. 26): Seeing that the people were an object of ridicule in their neighbor's eyes, this being a Chilul Hashem, he stood at the gates of the camp and cried out, “Whoever is for the L-rd, join me!” (Ex. 332:26). He publicly killed all those who worshiped the calf, so that Israel's enemies should hear and the Name of Heaven should be sanctified through them, instead of the Chilul Hashem they had perpetrated.

Or HaChaim (Ex. 32:29) relates to the killing of Israelites: We might think that someone who did such a thing was spiritually flawed, possessing cruelty associated with wickedness. Moses therefore said, “Today you shall be spiritually completed” (Ex. 32:29). This is not a command, but an announcement that this day their spiritual powers would be made complete. Their deed was not a sign of any spiritual flaw. Quite the contrary, their “willingness to kill even their own sons” (Ibid) signified their approaching spiritual perfection.

The pinnacle of bitachon, sacrificing oneself for Kiddush Hashem, involves being ready to elevate one's love of G-d above one's love of people. [Similarly] G-d commanded us regarding the apostate city. If we hear of a city led astray by evildoers, such that its inhabitants went and worshiped idols, we must destroy that city and all its inhabitants with their property, until it remains an eternal ruin. Kill all the inhabitants of the city by the sword... Burn the city along with all its goods, entirely, to the L-rd your G-d... The L-rd will then have mercy on you, and in His mercy he will make you flourish... (Deut. 13, 16-18)

No mitzvah in the Torah is harder for the Jew than to destroy an entire Jewish city, and his whole nature rebels against this command. [If this goes even for a Jewish city, please understand its implications regarding non-Jewish entities in the Land of Israel!] If, all the same, he overcomes his selfishness and suppresses his evil impulse via this mitzvah, how great shall be his reward! How fully has he brought G-d, the Supreme King, to reign over him and accepted G-d's yoke. It is truly as if he has fulfilled all the mitzvot.

Imagine how hard it is, how cruel it is for a person to obey G-d with such self-sacrifice as this! Yet, only in this way will G-d sanctify His Name and bring the redemption. Our sages, likewise, said (Pesikta Rabbati, 31): “If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand lose its cunning” (Ps. 137:5): R. Elazar HaKapar envisioned G-d saying: “My Torah is in your hands and the end of days is in My hands, and we both need each other. Just as you need Me to bring the end, I need you to keep My Torah, to hasten the rebuilding of My house and of Jerusalem. Just as I cannot possibly forget the end, as it says, 'Let My right hand lose its cunning,' so have you no right to forget the Torah, which stated, 'From His right hand went out a fiery law for them' (Deut. 33:2).”

Listen well, O Israel! G-d, Himself, decrees His dependency upon Israel, so to speak, our “both needing each other.” Had our sages not said this, who could have dared express it? Yet, once they did say it, how can we continue our rebellion against G-d, a rebellion rendered foolish and inane in light of these words? After all, G-d admits, so to speak, that in order to hasten the building of Jerusalem and the Temple, in order to return once more as King, thereby sanctifying His Name and eliminating the terrible Chilul Hashem, He needs Israel. That is, it is enough if Israel resume Torah observance, and then, for His own sake, to sanctify His Name, He will return to Eretz Israel and bring the redemption. Thus, G-d is “dependent” on us, and why should we not understand this? One might ask: Why does G-d enable flesh and blood to dictate decrees to Him?

The answer is simple: G-d fiercely longs to sanctify His Name, profaned daily by the nations, but He demands that Israel sanctify His Name first through complete and perfect faith and trust in G-d. They must take hold of the dangerous, frightening mitzvot which leave them isolated and alone with the nations opposing them, for only this can prove their real trust in Him. (Source)

Getting Close Now

16 Adar 5786

REMINDER from "Yehudit's Prophecy"...
* North of Israel will burn up from missiles from the Iranian Hizbulla, with the support of Syria.
* IDF (Israel Defense Force) reaction will be worthless.
* IDF will be very angry with the 'non-government'.

...Moshiach ben Yosef will arrive to the North. In the beginning, he will not know that he was chosen to be the first savior. He will operate thru his qualifications and thru his love for Am Israel that is embedded in him. He is very pious and has helpers with him. Thru his holy bravery and courage, people of the North as well as others will slowly awaken and want to attach themselves to him and join him.

Senior Israeli political and defense officials held urgent closed-door discussions in recent days regarding the possibility of an infiltration attempt by Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force commando unit, Channel 12 reported on Wednesday evening.

According to the report, military leaders are preparing for a scenario in which Iran’s Revolutionary Guards might attempt to launch an infiltration operation through Hezbollah—potentially even while IDF forces are already operating at several points inside southern Lebanon.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz instructed the IDF to take no chances and to operate under the assumption that such a threat could materialize at any moment. The approach reflects lessons drawn from the events of October 7, with the security establishment unwilling to assume that the presence of IDF troops inside Lebanon alone is enough to prevent infiltration attempts.

According to the report, even if the likelihood of a large-scale incursion is considered low, the military is preparing to thwart any attempt — even a small, localized infiltration by a limited cell.

Following the assessment, a decision was made to significantly reinforce troop deployments. The IDF is increasing the number of soldiers stationed both deeper inside Lebanon and along the defensive perimeter surrounding northern Israeli yishuvim to ensure maximum readiness for direct engagement with enemy forces and to prevent Radwan terrorists from reaching Israeli towns and neighborhoods, chalilah.
