A sharp dispute has erupted between Israel and the Trump administration over the gas deal reached between the Leviathan consortium and Egypt. Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen chose to delay his signature on the deal, citing Egypt's violations of the peace treaty with Israel. In response, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright called off his his planned visit to Israel, which had been scheduled as part of efforts to advance the $35 billion agreement. The American energy giant Chevron, a key partner in the Leviathan gas field, has in recent weeks exerted heavy pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and on Cohen to finalize the ratification. However, the energy minister, who had been expecting Wright's visit, decided to postpone it for now due to several unresolved issues that require further clarification between Jerusalem and Cairo. In recent days, the US administration has mounted significant pressure on senior Israeli officials, including Cohen and the prime minister, to approve the gas export deal to Egypt.Cohen, for his part, insisted that gas prices for the Israeli market remain competitive. As negotiations have yet to be concluded, he refused to authorize exports until that matter is settled. At the same time, efforts have been underway to resolve the diplomatic disputes between Israel and Egypt. (Source)
No doubt this is another "promise" Trump gave to Egypt to buy its cooperation with his "Peace Deal." And equally without doubt comes this "report" as "leverage" to bend Israel to the U.S.'s will.
A US government watchdog says in a classified report that the IDF committed “many hundreds” of potential human rights violations during the Gaza war that would take the State Department “multiple years” to review, The Washington Post reports.
The report from the State Department’s Office of Inspector General was completed several days before the Gaza ceasefire went into effect on October 10.
Just like Vance boasted the day before...

The deal with Egypt is a sham. 50-70% of the gas Egypt buys from Israel, is sold to Europe, at a markup.
ReplyDeleteHypothetically, shouldn't Israel supply Europe directly?
It's corruption all the way up and down the line.
Beginning of Gog UMagog?? (Neshama)
ReplyDeleteI still maintain that the War of GoguMagog started on Shemini Atzeret 5784.
DeleteOne thing is for certain, in the end, the nations will "claim" they did this all for the benefit of Israel, "peace and security", and will have to bring their "witnesses", in an attempt to justify their actions. After being shown it was only for themselves they will come to realize their iniquities.
ReplyDeleteIn light of this, Trump is among many who make "the claim" they condemn and fight Anti-Semitism yet their actions say otherwise. Very very few have condemned the Tucker - Fuentes video. In fact many are condemning the backlash against the two, especially by Jews. Most notably are two conservative pollsters who now blame the increase in Anti-Semitism on those Jews themselves for speaking up.
One site I mentioned previously has an article about this and suggest Fuentes didn't sound like a "monster". Commenters who previously showed great support for Israel now say Fuentes sounds like a quite reasonable person and the response is just a way to portray the America First people in a bad way. Do these people now believe the infamous Unite the Right rally, which Fuentes was part of, were simply misunderstood.
This isn't the first time such an individual became a household name. Some years back another person came on the scene, Richard Spencer, who also aligned his "alt-right" group with Trump. He, too, had speeches that, on the surface, sounded quite reasonable. It was a different time and virtually everyone denounced him for what he was.
Today is a much different time and the leaders, Trump and Vance included, have said absolutely nothing about the rise of this Jew-hatred. It seems apparent that Tucker still has the President and Vice-Presidents' ear. A few, very few, have explained the danger of giving a platform to these types, as the response to that article proves. Spencer wasn't given the traction and sits in obscurity now and the Conservative Right expunged any of that Jew-hatred then. On the other hand, Today, a good many on the "Right" are embracing the likes of Tucker and Fuentes. Once such a pandora's box is open there's little chance of putting it back.
Can Trump's ego even Fit in the White House.
ReplyDeleteHe got "all" the hostages out? I'm not sure but "most" may have been released before he was elected.
He makes a much bigger deal about the US airstrikes in Iran. He's Never, Ever given credit to Israel for paving the way. Their flight across Iran was about as dangerous as flying over US skies. As a result there was No "bravery" with those pilots.
This is the height of his arrogance. “I made Middle East peace. For 3,000 years they couldn’t do it. I did it.” Only Hashem brings peace, not some wild arrogant egotist.
