A "State" Is Not the Same as a Nation

3 Kislev 5786

I'm reading more and more reference to "The State" as an entity that must be "served and protected" at all costs.  In this case, it is referring to the State of Israel, most often by those who are part of the regime which rules it.  They like to call it ''Jewish and Democratic," which is kind of like "Judeo-Chr*stian" - an oxymoron.  It is both Jewish and Gentile - Ya'aqov and Eisav - at one and the same time, an existential impossibility as indicated by the Midrash...

In the future, Esau will wrap himself in a tallis, sit down next to Yakov and say to him, "You are my brother"....Yakov will say to him, "My brother, you will not be like me. I will lead you to death, I will be the pestilence that leads you to Sheol (Hoshea 13,14). Had I upheld the decrees that you promulgated against me, I would have been guilty at the eyes of Heaven. Had I violated them, you would have killed me (Yalkut Shimoni, Yirmiahu 333).

"That was Esau's intention when he told Yakov, 'Let us travel together and I will go before you' (Genesis 33,12). He wanted them to join together in both this world and the world to come, to meet each other halfway, with each modifying his conduct until they were alike (Yalkut Shimoni, Genesis 133).

But, a "State" is not equal to a Nation, certainly not as it applies to the Jewish Nation.

"...From the day when God created man on the earth, and from one end of heaven to the other end of heaven:  Has there ever been anything like this great thing or has anything like it been heard?  ...has any god ever miraculouly come to take for himself a nation from amidst a nation...as everything that Hashem, your God, did for you in Egypt...."   (Devarim 4.32-34)

The world failed in killing every Jew in existence, so the Plan B was to assimilate the Jews until they ceased to exist as a separate, recognizable nation.   But, like oil and water, the two will forever remain separated.

We are NOT ONE nation living in our homeland.

We are a holy nation living in a holy land given to us by the Creator and Master of the world because it is uniquely suited to the nature of our souls and our avodat Hashem.

And then there are the usurpers who presume to rule over us and use every bit of power they have assumed in order to change us into something that they can absorb out of existence.

It'll never happen.  It's simply as impossible as mixing oil and water.  With a lot of shaking, it might appear to mix for a time, but eventually, it separates again.

In the beginning of our history, Hashem took us out of Egypt - "a nation from within another nation."  At the End of Days, it appears that Hashem will, of necessity, have to repeat the process in reverse - take "Egypt" out of our midst.  This is the Erev Rav, the mixed multitudes who followed us out into the wilderness, but who never truly became a part of us.

The joke is on Eisav as the pretend Jews' eagerness to emulate the West and adopt its superficial, decadent culture gave him a false sense of success.  In the end, their attachment to each other causes them to go down together and finally frees us - the Jewish nation - from the weight of their stranglehold on us.

Any sign of systemic failure in the West is cause for renewed hope for the Jewish nation because this is the clearest sign of the impending revelation of Mashiach in our days.

"When Eisav Falls, Ya'aqov Rises."

  1. A nation is like an extended family. A state is the modern version of malchus.

A "nation state" is a modern contrivance.

  2. Excellent. It always bothered me that our EY was being called a 'state'.
Was it to be another state attached to another nation? Eretz Yisrael must be called that and nothing less. But the establishment of the State was founded by the Erev Rav and their cohorts, the U.N., having an agenda just as you have explained above in this post. Everything is coming to light; it's been slow but with each day it is going at a faster pace leading us to our Geulah Shleimah! May it be with great Rachamim for klal Yisrael k'heref ayin..

  3. Unfortunately many pure holy Jews still don't realize the importance of living in Eretz Yisrael - https://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/promotions/2473858/visit-to-lakefront-by-dozens-of-future-residents-and-askonim-marks-historic-turning-point-in-american-chassidic-life.html

    1. Everyone knows what happens to the Jews who don't want to leave Egypt.

  5. The confusion between State and Land, Nation and State, Torah and State Law is the basic brainwashing taking place in Israel's state "religious" school system. I used to call it indoctrination, but not for a long time now.

  6. I, too, have been bothered by the use of the term, Medinat Yisrael, because it infers the 'beginning', which many have used to insist there was no Eretz Yisrael before the UN decision. It would have been better to phrase it, "the nations of the world have finally recognized this land...", rather than being proud "they" established it. It's akin to saying, "we want a king like other nations".
