I received the following message from Rabbi Richter a short while ago: "After the Neturei Karta participation in the demonstration outside a synagogue in Manhattan I want to reload a shiur on these low lives." This is the one I found on his channel. It is now titled...
In a few words, I would think the neturei karta are the
ReplyDeleteAirev Rav Amaleikim! They join with our mortal enemies.

I am as upset at this as most of us, but let's consider that their zealotry (if you can call it that) is conceptually well founded in opposition to the Medina of the Eirev Rav. Not acceptable, but if we take the opportunity to parse the Nation versus the State, there is a constructive outcome of otherwise dangerous behaviour.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what this means.
Deletetheir mission is to be the controlled oppossition..... to frame all good Jews who anticipate Malchut shamaim and malchut ben David, those who stand against the erev rav regime, as traitors and cultists .
DeleteTo Nobody Special: Their behavior is not zealotry. They can be as against the State as they want but when they cross the line to 'join up' with our mortal enemies who are out to destroy us, then that is pure
ReplyDeletehatred and Amaleiki! They show they have no connection or empathy
for the Jewish people and cause a chilul H' in front of the world because the non-Jews think they are very religious 'Jews' which they
are NOT and gives the impression to the goyim that Jews who are not like these fanatics are not real Jews when it is the reverse.

Anti-Semites specifically use them to say, "even these religious Jews agree with us", in all their blood libels as their proof.
DeleteHave you read Perfidy? Are you aware of the Havaara Agreement? Do you know that there were around 20,000 non Jewish females from Germany who married secular Zionists imported from Germany under the auspices of Reform conversion certificates? Can you guess who their descendants are? Two prominent ones are Ariel Sharon and Naftali Bennet, and likely the AG. When you understand who is behind the power of the State, its laws and policies, your view of Neturei Karta will change. It’s absurd, yes - but it’s conceivable that the Government of the Eirev Rav is worse that Ishmael in some respects.
DeleteTo Nobody special: I know very well what the leaders from the
Deletestart of the State are. Do you also know that in 1945 many german nazi's, y's v'z, sneaked into EY and could be they
married those german women you wrote about making their descendants absolute goyim. Of course, the whole setup of the
State was not Jewish but a good deal made between the then leaders who started the State with the UN (our faithful friends, H' Yerachem) But, all this does not make the neutrei karta any more Jewish and could very well be they too are goyim. There are about five to seven different levels of Airev Rav and the worst, of course, are the Airev Rav Amaleikim. Those from the extreme leftists to the very fanatical religious. Only Moshiach will be able to discern who is a Yid and from which tribe.
What we need is real unity between all true Jews and the
coming of Moshiach tzdkeinu, hopefully very soon. Amen!

Perfidy is a powerful polemic, but it's not a work of historical scholarship. Ben Hecht was a playwright and journalist, not a historian.
DeleteSome historians have raised legitimate questions about whether Labor Zionist leaders responded appropriately or sufficiently to the news from Europe. And there are those from the Jabotinsky camp who contend that the Labor Zionist leaders were insufficiently confrontational vis a vis the British. But the notion that Ben-Gurion, Sharett et al did not want Hungarian Jews rescued is entirely unfounded. On the contrary, there is ample evidence of Labor Zionist representatives in multiple countries lobbying Allied diplomats to bomb the railway lines to Auschwitz in order to save Hungarian Jewry--among other examples of the Labor Zionists seeking to aid Hungary's Jews. (Recall the mission of the parachutists, for one.)
Btw Hecht was an ardent secularist. So by Neturei Karta standards, they shouldn't trust a word he says. As for the common NK allegation that "the Zionists" abandoned Hungarian Jews because Hungarian Jews were Orthodox, that's nonsense. Hecht is very critical of the Labor Zionist leaders, he never suggests that they harbored any kind of anti-religious bias against Hungarian Jews. And of course many Hungarian Jews were not at all religious.
<< Are you aware of the Havaara Agreement? >>
That was in the early 1930s, when nobody yet had any idea what the Nazis were going to do to the Jews. It was a clever way to get desperately-needed resources to the yishuv--essentially it let German Jewish olim take money out of Germany if they spent it on German-made goods in E.Y.
