Israel needs to begin preparations for the possible impact of a major tsunami, the deputy head of the National Security Council emphasized during a meeting with emergency agencies and multiple government ministries on Wednesday.Tsunamis have struck Israel in the past, and experts warn they will occur again. While it is impossible to predict when and where the next tsunami will hit or the extent of flooding it may cause, the likelihood increases during periods of heightened seismic activity, such as the recent tremors in Greece.In the Santorini Islands, thousands of small earthquakes recorded in recent days have raised concerns that a major earthquake could be imminent, potentially triggering a tsunami in the Mediterranean.

Santorini (named for Saint Irene, official name Thera) : The island was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history: the Minoan eruption, sometimes called the Thera eruption, which occurred about 3,600 years ago at the height of the Minoan civilization. The eruption left a large caldera surrounded by volcanic ash deposits hundreds of metres deep. It has been suggested that the colossal Santorini volcanic eruption is the source of the legend of the lost civilisation of Atlantis.

ReplyDeleteComments are almost universally approving. My response: "You might think this is cute, but to me it is abominable since to date about 2719 Israeli lives have been paid out for this "opportunity"!
In the video at 8:53, he starts talking about the new moon and full moon. Perhaps, in deference to Beit Shammai, this started on Rosh Hodesh, but its intensity is increasing until Tu Bishvat in deference to Beit Hillel. Note that this is the last Rosh Hashana of the Nisan-based year (and the last mentioned in the Mishna).

ReplyDeleteNeshama: didn’t Hashem say to “sit back and see what I will do”? Or something like that. I think we are in the days leading to Gog umagog, which started soon as D claimed to buy Aza! What exactly is a “gog” and a “Magog”. We need to extrapolate meanings on these terms.
