Exile And Redemption Cannot Co-Exist

14 Menachem Av 5785
Erev Shabbat Kodesh
Parashat Va'etchanan
Shabbat Nachamu / TU b'Av

Which is worse?  Remaining in the Exile while the gates to Eretz Yisrael stand wide open or dragging the Exile into the Land with you?  No Israeli Jew may feel superior to his brother in chutz la'aretz because it is debatably much worse, I think, to make aliyah to Eretz Yisrael and impose upon it all the errors, sins and and anti-Torah excesses of the Western world.  The State of Israel is a monument - not to Judaism - but to Judeo-Chr*stianity, the Hellenism of our time.  And just like we were in exile under the Greeks while living on our Holy Land, so too, today!  And it is a self-imposed Exile!!

HKB"H is doing everything to make us so sick of the perverseness and the injustice of that system that we will be willing to give it up and turn back to His Torah and Mitzvot which lie abandoned everywhere this current regime rules.

...Behold, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, as the Lord, my God, commanded me, to do so in the midst of the land to which you are coming to possess.  And you shall keep them and do them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the eyes of the peoples, who will hear all these statutes and say, "Only this great nation is a wise and understanding people."

For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the Lord our God is at all times that we call upon Him?  And which great nation is it that has just statutes and ordinances, as this entire Torah, which I set before you this day?  ...And the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and ordinances, so that you should do them in the land to which you are crossing, to possess.

...When you are distressed, and all these things happen upon you in the end of days, then you will return to the Lord your God and obey Him.  And you shall know this day and consider it in your heart, that the Lord He is God in heaven above, and upon the earth below; there is none else.  And you shall observe His statutes and His commandments, which I command you this day, that it may be well with you and your children after you, and that you may prolong your days upon the earth which the Lord your God gives you forever.     (Devarim 4.5-8, 14, 30, 39-40)
All of the horror and pain can be ended, right now, today! if we would just believe Hashem and do what He bid us to do and stop looking everywhere else for another alternative.  There is no other alternative to obedience to the Torah.

  1. In my humble opinion, it is still way greater to live in Eretz Yisrael, despite all of the setbacks it is still Hashem's land. One should try to separate themselves from the Medina as much as possible, but every Dalet amos a person walks in EY is still a great mitzvah.

    1. No question. But that greatness is being eroded by the idolatry which is rampant.

  2. yes, a hellinised govt! but as rav teichtal made clear in his opus "am habanim semacha"the charedim were dead set against a jewish govt before moshiach so we had to have a secular led movement(with a relegious minority such as my father and grandfather)to get the state up and running

    1. And now it has outlived its usefulness and has become very destructive.

  3. Hitoreri, I get what you are trying to say, but it's simply not true that "every Jew is a tzadik." If it were, there would not be the many, many sources discussing a great birur where only one-third make the cut to remain in Days of Mashiach.

  4. Since the Jews came ti Mitzrayim, that expression of tzadik no longer holds true, except for the real tzadikim through the millenia until now.
The unbelieving, secular, etc. Jew of today is no tzadik until his klipah will be gone. Then every real Jew is a tzadik.
This does not apply to the Erev Rav which halachly can be Jewish but his neshama is not!
