In his conversation with his father, he explains and clarifies in detail the chareidi educational situation and particularly the educational trend in seminaries and yeshivot, and what can be done to remedy the situation and save the next generation.
They Will Die Just from Fear
Abba, Abba, we are in such a difficult situation, so difficult. In the Land of Israel as well as in the United States, in Europe, in Australia, in China, in Russia - in the whole world, the situation is very difficult. The whole world is about to collapse. The whole world as we know it is going to change, and actually, it's already happening.

The Pacific Ocean - there are almost no fish left in it. Since the Japanese tsunami and the leak in the nuclear reactor at Fukushima - daily it's spilling to the sea, and also to the air, tons of radioactive material, and the Pacific Ocean is going to slowly, slowly die. On the other side of the planet, there was a giant leak in the Gulf of Mexico - in it leaked millions of barrels of oil to the Atlantic Ocean, in addition to the thousands of tons of toxic chemicals spilled to plug the leak, that poisoned the fish and reduced the amount of fish. And, in general, all over the world, waste of all kinds is spilling into the seas. Lately, tons of dead fish of all kinds are showing up on beaches all over the world.
Question. I read about a study published about ten years ago, still before the aforementioned threats, whose headline was: 'In another 50 years there won't be any fish left in the sea...'?
Answer. I believe it will happen much earlier, and it's already happening. Look in the Gemara where it's written that the time will come that it will be difficult to obtain a fish for a sick person.

The whole population is getting sicker and sicker. How can it be that just in Israel, in one generation - half a million people are sick with diabetes. And a great number of these are ill with a disease and the situation is going to get worse.

Worldwide economic problems - even though the market is going up and up, it's a lie. In the near future - the economy will collapse and we will have massive inflation.

All over the world - including Israel, Jews and gentiles - they are declining in an amazing way in every thing connected to morality and modesty. All religions are based on the marriage of a man with a woman, but the world's behaviors have become worse than the 'jungle.' In the 'jungle,' the animals go according to natural laws, a male mates with a female, but now, a person goes against nature. And in many countries in the world it is permitted to marry man with man and woman with woman, even though it's against the religions of the whole world, against nature, etc.

We're in a difficult situation. The whole world is in a difficult situation and people simply don't want to know. Also here, in Eretz Yisrael, the place where we live, the Holy Land - just now we are going into a very difficult period. Indeed, from one side, I'm very frightened, but from the other side, I'm happy because all of this is written in the prophets.
Listen well, Abba. It's written that Mashiach can't take rulership from the Erev Rav, these are the Zionists. There has to be something between them. The government as we know it, the government of Ben Gurion and all the 'Mapai'nikim and their kind who were established in 1948 - must disappear. We are on the verge of the collapse of the State as we've known it. And this government - it's really the rule of the Erev Rav. Indeed, there is also in the Knesset non-Erev Rav, but the leadership of the government - they are a majority Erev Rav. And the whole State of Israel is full of people who are 'so-called important,' like judges, policemen, military, etc. - really Erev Rav. And a portion of them - are even gentiles, really. Because of language in Eretz Yisrael, in the State of Israel, there are many 'Jews' who are non-Jews because their mother or their grandmother, etc. didn't convert properly. And the State is full of these. It's a bit difficult to know who's really Jewish and who's not.
Now, we see that they took "The Great Soldier Hero" - Arik Sharon, and wanted to make from his death a great celebration, or at least they tried to make from it a big celebration. They came from various countries, delegations of diplomats. They took him to lie next to the Knesset so that everyone could come and tell him good-bye, and at the end, they buried him on his farm. They planned that there would be thousands of people and at the end, there were very few people. And this resulted in a great embarrassment for the organizers of the show all over the world. Interesting, why did they do this? Why did they make such a big celebration? Why? After all, an enormous percentage of Jews here in Israel hate him!?
Because the great, ruling evildoers in the world wanted to show us that this 'Great Hero,' this 'Strong Right-wing Jew,' under the pretext of 'for the sake of peace,' bent down and went against his own wishes and gave Gush Katif to the Arabs. He took good Jews who built homes and established a generation, they built settlements which protected the security of this whole region and took them out with force from their homes - men, women and children, heartless. He demolished and ruined synagogues and study halls without conscience and all the people saw and kept quiet except for a few weak demonstrations, considering the nature of the issue. But, we know the truth - he didn't go 'for the sake of peace,' but because of the evildoers who forced him to go this way. And from Aza, they are continuing to bombard us...
He wasn't a 'hero' at all, and it was not an act of heroism. If he was a true hero - he would not have let it happen. He would have fought against it. If he was a true hero - he would have had faith and trust in HKB"H, but he was hardly a Jew, hardly a Jew internally. Arik was Prime Minister, he was a "fighter," but he didn't have a heart. He didn't have a Jewish heart.
Unfortunately, this exists very much with the 'so-called leaders' of our government. They don't have a Jewish heart. They want to destroy Judaism completely. They want to introduce here the rule of gentiles. They imagine that they will have employment, and that they will have part of the rule with these evildoers. But, the gentiles won't want them. And you will see that also Netanyahu is ready to give settlements, 'and how,' also in Jerusalem. The gentiles will take over here in Israel without a war and actually, they've already begun to take over, to come in. But, it's not far off, it will arrive in the near future. They will take over, the Zionists will fall, and then our righteous Mashiach will arrive.
Am Yisrael, our future is very difficult. And if you read what I write, you will say: "It can't be! It's not possible!" But, it's already happening. The Christians have reached every corner of Eretz Yisrael. American soldiers are already here. And in a little bit, more foreign soldiers will arrive. Because whoever is trying to rule over the world - first and foremost wants Eretz Yisrael. Those who are behind the Arab Spring are trying to do this here also. They're not so successful with this, but they have all kinds of methods and there's a method of 'buying people with money,' - and this works here fine. They're in control. They're in control over 'our government,' so-called, they're in control over the big businesses, they're in control over the banks - in the world as well as in Eretz Yisrael. And in practice, they are already in control over the State of Israel. But they still have not shown their cards openly, except for individuals. They are now working hard to turn over the State of Israel from a Jewish state to a state like all the peoples. To turn Jews into gentiles. Meanwhile, they're very much succeeding at this. And even among the chareidi Jews, there are those who allow themselves to be servants of these people. And why??? Money!
(Chareidi Educational Situation)
There are schools, yeshivot, that owe money and that's what makes them lower their head and surrender and introduce into the schools psychologists, social workers with foreign ideas, and various learning programs such as the CORE of the gentiles with tracks including computers, etc. that's destroying this generation and instead of bringing them closer to Yiddishkeit, it distances them from Yiddishkeit. The girls are learning these things in order to maintain a young man in Torah study. But, they're also distancing the boys from Torah learning - and no one says anything! And why don't they say anything? Money, money, money!
Chareidim want to walk in goodness, in ways of pleasantness, but the Zionist-evildoers don't walk in goodness. They don't behave towards the Chareidim with goodness. They also compelled them to study the CORE curriculum, and also they cut to them support from every direction. So, really, for what are the Chareidim bending to the wishes of the evil seculars? This I do not comprehend or could it be that there are Erev Rav among us, among the Chareidim, among the Jews, as it's written. That's certain.
And our future is more frightening. The economic situation, antisemitism, and persecution after the Jews of the world. More and more Jews will arrive here, and also Erev Rav. There will be aliyah - until the majority of the real Jews will be here, and then Mashiach will arrive. The State of Israel will fall. There will be gentile rule. And the greatest sign that it's happening is the handing over of King David's tomb. From the moment that the Catholics take King David's tomb - we're in big trouble.
It will be hard, but at least we will see clearly who-belongs-to-what. Who belongs to Am Yisrael - and who belongs to the Erev Rav and the gentiles. The things will finally be clear. And even though the situation will be so difficult and outside the Land of Israel there will be wars like never were throughout history, but at least everything will be clear to us.
And after this, God willing, all the real Jews who hold on strongly to HKB"H and His Torah, will merit to welcome our righteous Mashiach. They will be ready for this, because they sacrificed themselves and did not go with the gentiles and the Erev Rav. And this will be the last test - to show HKB"H that we are with Him, that we trust in Him, and believe in Him that He is the Omnipotent One, and we will receive upon us in joy the Kingdom of Heaven. And then, we will pass more stages, but at the end of the thing, our righteous Mashiach will lead us to the complete redemption in mercy and joy.

Two articles from Daniel on Purim: The first refers to the prayer rally at the Gates of Jerusalem which took place on Rosh Chodesh Adar Bet 5774 and explains chareidi-secular relations in Eretz Yisrael in comparison to the situation of Am Yisrael in Egypt.
Today, we are as if in Egypt
"And these are the names of the sons of Israel who came to Egypt;...Now all those descended from Jacob were seventy souls,.... The children of Israel were fruitful and swarmed and increased and became very very strong, and the land became filled with them. A new king arose over Egypt,.... He said to his people, "Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more numerous and stronger than we are. Get ready, let us deal shrewdly with them, lest they increase, and a war befall us, and they join our enemies and depart from the land." So they appointed over them tax collectors to afflict them with their burdens.... But as much as they would afflict them, so did they multiply and so did they gain strength, and they were disgusted because of the children of Israel." (Exodus, chapter 1)
Today, we are as if in Egypt. The children of Israel are fruitful and increasing and suddenly, the Egyptians are awakening and saying: 'They are a danger for us.' 'They must be slaves.' We must remove from them their faith and trust in God. And the Egyptians worked hard in order to take for them the merits that they received in the time of Yosef. We came here to Eretz Yisrael a long time before the secular Zionists, and from then until today, we have increased in an amazing way. While not six children at the same time, but now being born three-five children at the same time. And this is not out of the ordinary. Then, all the time that the numbers were small, they rejected the war against the Jewish religion and now, they see us everywhere.
And like in Egypt - the Jews decided that they wanted a piece of the materialistic cake that the seculars have. So, the evil Hellenistic goyische government decided that the Chareidim in Am Yisrael are too many and their requirements too many, and it constitutes a danger to the existence of the secular State of Israel, therefore they need to destroy Judaism. But, this is a mistake, it's suicide on their part! Because it's clear, because until today, whoever stood against Am Yisrael - nothing remains from them. There's not a trace of them. And this is a historic fact.
The rally today was not totally pure for the sake of Heaven, because there are various groups who pull in all kinds of directions and there is a lot of politics here. But, gather together because there is no other choice. Because the government wants to destroy our Judaism and turn us into gentiles. They want to put women to be judges on the religious courts, they want doctors to be mohelim, they want to take over the kashrut, and every day another decree in order to destroy the Torah and our faith and trust in HKB"H, God forbid.
It's nothing new. It's just amazing that in Eretz Yisrael, "so-called Jews" are doing exactly what the gentiles did throughout history until today against the Jews. The same methodology, the same way! They're working really hard and despite that there are Chareidim in the Knesset who speak against it - it doesn't help. And what's important about today's rally is that at least a large part of the Chareidim are now saying: 'No further. You're making war against the Torah, against HKB"H - no further!'
But, this is not the end. It's only the beginning. Because the side of the Hellenists and the gentiles, the Zionists and the gentiles who are standing behind them - are not going to stop. They're working like crazy to finish off the Jewish religion. So, the time will come for the hundreds of thousands who come today to protest, they will have to say again and again: 'We do not agree to change even one word of the mitzvot of our holy Torah, or from our faith.'
Unfortunately, there will be some Chareidim who will not want to leave the Egel-Hazahav of This World and they will be ready to compromise with the seculars, until they disappear together with them. The worst decrees are now coming down upon us and only the "real Jews" will say: 'No, no further, that's it!' And this will be the mesirut nefesh - the self sacrifice - that Hashem wants from Am Yisrael.
Lately - we're seeing hundreds of Chareidim integrating more and more into the secular world, in a good job, in the army, in all kinds of places that until today, there weren't any Chareidim there. They're trying to combine Judaism with an open lifestyle that is against the Jewish religion, working with heretic haters of Israel, haters of the Torah, to integrate with them - it doesn't go.
We also see chareidi Jews occupied with politics. Only a portion of the askanim, mayors and representatives in the Knesset, etc - work for the sake of Heaven. Therefore, the spiritual level of Judaism is going down. The askanim just now are like mushrooms after rain, and for a portion of the askanim there is a matter of collaborating with the gentile Hellenist government because they profit from it. There are various ways that chareidi mayors are using their duties to drop not-a-little money into their pockets. And from this is born an entire industry. And the victim in all this - it's the simple good Jew, who's trying to raise his children to Torah and mitzvot, to love HKB"H, to be all the time a servant of Hashem - to live only to do His will, and in the end he's a victim of the askanim for their kind and all the business-people who control the world wit the Hellenist-gentiles.
And like in Egypt - the level of Judaism went down significantly at the moment that a portion of the Chareidim began to come close and integrate with the secular, Hellenistic, gentile world.
Like in Egypt, when the Jewish population grew in an amazing way and already there wasn't room in Goshen, they began to live also in the gentile areas and to mix in their company, and then the gentiles began to feel endangered because the number of Jews was greater than the number of Egyptians and they feared that it would change the character of Egypt.
So too now, there are "so-called Chareidim" in every place in the world who want to work, to have fun, to 'have a good time,' like the seculars. And since the seculars are beginning to see the Chareidim turning up in all kinds of places which were once relevant to seculars alone, and their competition in politics and in business and wherever they turn up, it's combined with all kinds of requirements like kashrut, a place to pray, etc. It's irritating the seculars very much and they want to rid themselves of the 'affliction' that they call 'Chareidim.' But, what most annoys the seculars is that the Chareidim are able to integrate and to rule in every place 'easy as pie.' And if we look upon this well, so this was exactly the problem with the Jews in Europe. The Jews had succeeded too much, and especially in money matters, and this irritated them the most.
The significance of the conference, the rally, the protest, this prayer, it's in a few words that were spoken there: "No Chareidi will enlist!" And this is not just an answer on the matter of recruitment. This is the answer that needs to be on every decree that they want to impose on Am Yisrael: Absolutely not! Don't allow, don't cooperate with all the illegal laws - democratic laws against Am Yisrael, against Hashem and His Torah. If there is a problem with conversion - then Chareidim will marry only with converts who converted with the chareidi religious courts. If they won't allow a mohel to circumcise a child - then, we'll do like in communist Russia, in secret. And if they want to force us to eat unkosher food - then we will establish our own secret hechsher. And if they will want to judge us for keeping the Torah and God forbid, put us in jail because of this or they'll want to kill us because of it - Hashem will save us.
One thing's for sure - if the State of Israel dares to pass laws against Chareidi Jews, against Hashem and His Torah, then they will have a bitter end like the villains throughout history who fought against the truth, against the Torah, against HaKadosh Baruch Hu.
I'm afraid that after this will come a lot of the most difficult decrees and it will be very hard for Chareidim and already a portion of the Chareidim want to leave the country to flee from it. I advise not to leave the Land of Israel. They should remain here. It's impossible to fight against the seculars with the might of your arm, because that's not what Hashem wants. He will fight for us! We have to trust in Him, to request and to pray for His help. We say: We have no strength, only HKB"H is our strength and we are in His hands alone. And our war is: Not to agree to decrees against the religion, to establish large, thick partitions between us and them, partitions that we will build in order to separate ourselves from them. Hashem will make the war, because Hashem wants the Children of Israel to return to Him completely, that they will be loyal only to Him and to His Torah - and not to anything else.
And outside of Israel, it won't be much better. Hatred for Jews is going to grow. Decrees are already coming and it will be worse yet. Hashem will give a strong blow to the gentiles, that two-thirds of the world will be destroyed. We have no interest to flee from the Land of Israel. We have, outside the Land of Israel, huge numbers of Reform and Conservative Jews who are also against the Chareidim and they work with governments - the gentiles against the Jewish Chareidim, the faithful. There's nothing to look for outside the Land of Israel! Our place is Eretz Yisrael.
Hashem is preparing the world for the last wars, and these are spiritual wars. People will be killed and it will be a great destruction. But, the essence of the war is spiritual. HKB"H against the heretics and the wicked gentiles. And the winners will be exclusively these the Jews, the faithful, the real deal, who, at any price, will remain with HKB"H, with His will and His Torah. And also a very few gentiles who will see the truth.
The meeting today is another sign that the geulah is fast approaching, and we need to be ready from all the tests to receive our righteous Mashiach soon. We should merit to receive him in mercy and joy, with a heart full of joy that finally, this bitter exile is finished and we are rid of the government of evildoers and the yetzer hara.
And all these things will completely disappear and we will enter into a much more perfect world, much more ease. Because we won't have the heavy burden of war, internally and externally, that's inside every person against the yetzer hara. And you have no idea what it's like to be without the yetzer hara - mamash Gan Eden!

And the winners will be exclusively these the Jews, the faithful, the real deal, who, at any price, will remain with HKB"H, with His will and His Torah. And also a very few gentiles who will see the truth.
The meeting today is another sign that the geulah is fast approaching, and we need to be ready from all the tests to receive our righteous Mashiach soon. We should merit to receive him in mercy and joy, with a heart full of joy that finally, this bitter exile is finished and we are rid of the government of evildoers and the yetzer hara.
And all these things will completely disappear and we will enter into a much more perfect world, much more ease. Because we won't have the heavy burden of war, internally and externally, that's inside every person against the yetzer hara. And you have no idea what it's like to be without the yetzer hara - mamash Gan Eden!

The Megillah concluded with “Mordechai the Jew as second in command to King Achashverosh, great for the Jews, beloved by the multitude of his brethren; he sought good for his nation, speaking peace for all his seed” (Esther 10:3).
Though this is a happy ending to the Purim story, it is not the end of Jewish history. Now that Purim has finished (a day later in Jerusalem than in the rest of the world), now that we have sobered up, slept off the wine, put away our fancy-dress, taken off the mask, and returned to our day-to-day routine – now is the time for the post-Purim story.
The Talmud addresses the anomaly that we do not say Hallel on Purim: “If for being delivered from slavery to freedom [when we were redeemed from Egypt] we recite a Song of Praise, then should we not all the more so for being delivered from death to life [on Purim]?!” (Megillah 14a).
The Talmud proceeds to cite three reasons for not saying Hallel on Purim:
1) Rabbi Hiyya bar Avin cites Rabbi Yehoshua ben Korcha’s explanation that the miracle happened outside of Israel, and Hallel is said only for a miracle that happens in Israel. True, we say Hallel to thank God for the Splitting of the Red Sea which happened outside the Land of Israel, but this is because “as long as Israel had not yet entered the Land, all lands were fit for reciting a Song of Praise. Once Israel had entered the Land, other countries were not fit for reciting a Song of Praise”.
2) According to Rav Nachman, the reading of the Megillah is the Hallel for Purim.
3) And Rava derives the reason we say Hallel to celebrate the Exodus from Egypt but not on Purim from the opening verse of Hallel “Praise ye, O servants of Hashem” (Psalms 113:1). “Servants of Hashem”, says the Psalmist, and no longer servants of Pharaoh! But on Purim, we cannot say “servants of Hashem” and no longer servants of Achashverosh, because even though our lives had been saved, we were still servants of Achashverosh.
The third reason – that even though we had been saved from extermination at Haman’s hands, we were still under Achashverosh's domination, and therefore not yet free – is the most relevant to the postscript to Purim. What makes it supremely relevant is the implication that had we been freed from Persian domination then we would be saying Hallel on Purim.
And to understand this properly, we have to go back into history and to understand both the historical background and the aftermath of Purim.
Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, had invaded Judea in 3321 (603 B.C.E.) and destroyed the Holy Temple 12 years later in 3338 (586 B.C.E.). Israel remained subjugated to the Babylonian Empire for 25 years, after which time Daryavesh (Darius) the Mede (Daryavesh I) conquered Babylon and inherited its empire – which included the Land of Israel.
The return to Israel began when Daryavesh I died after reigning for just two years. Koresh (Cyrus), king of Persia, succeeded him in 3391 (533 B.C.E.) and inherited the Persian Empire. Upon assuming the throne, one of Koresh’s first acts was to proclaim the Jews’ right to return to Israel from anywhere in the Persian Empire they may be, and rebuild their Holy Temple in Jerusalem (Ezra 1:1-3, 2 Chronicles 36:22-23). Nevertheless, Israel was still far from independent; it was but a province in the Persian Empire.
That year in Tishrei, even though the Holy Temple had not yet been rebuilt, they already reinstituted several sacrifices on the Temple Mount – the daily burnt offerings morning and afternoon, the Festival sacrifice on Sukkot, and the Mussafim (Additional Offerings) of Festivals and New Moons (Ezra 3:1-6). Half a year later, in Iyyar, they began construction work on the Holy Temple (ibid. v. 8).
Work on the Holy Temple came under constant attack, predominantly by the Samaritans. After two years Koresh died, Achashverosh became the new king of the Persian Empire in 3394 (530 B.C.E.), and one of the first things he did was to prohibit further construction work on the Holy Temple (Ezra 4:24) – a construction-freeze that would last for 18 years.
And this leads us into the events at the beginning of Megillat Esther: “It happened in the days of Achashverosh – this is the Achashverosh who reigned from India to Ethiopia, a hundred and twenty-seven provinces – in those days, when King Achashverosh was sitting on his royal throne which was in Shushan the capital, in the third year of his reign, he made a feast for all his officials and servants” (Esther 1:1-3). This feast happened in the year 3397 (533 B.C.E.), while the construction-freeze on the Temple Mount was in force.
The Megillah concludes in the thirteenth year of Achashverosh’s reign, ten years after the feast with which the Megillah begins: Haman cast the lots in Nisan the twelfth year of Achashverosh’s reign (Esther 3:7), and the genocide was planned to happen a year later in Adar (v. 13), and instead was transformed into the day when the Jews slew their enemies.
We return now to the Gemara with which we began, and specifically Rava’s reasoning that the reason we do not say Hallel on Purim is that we cannot say “Praise ye, O servants of Hashem”, because even though our lives had been saved, we were still servants of Achashverosh.
The fact that we were still living under Achashverosh’s rule, both within the Land of Israel and in the rest of the Persian Empire (which meant almost all the Jews in the world at the time), meant that we were not independent, so we were not yet “servants of Hashem” but rather “still servants of Achashverosh”. And therefore, Purim did not constitute a reason to institute Hallel.
Achashverosh would remain on the throne of Persia for slightly over two years after the end of Megillat Esther, dying in 3407 (517 B.C.E.). He was succeeded by Daryavesh (Darius) II, who was the son of Esther and Achashverosh (Vayikra Rabbah 13:5; Esther Rabbah 8:3; Yalkut Shimoni, Shmini 536); hence Persia now had a Jewish emperor.
In the second year of his reign on the 1st of Ellul, Daryavesh II gave the order that the Jews in Judea could continue constructing the Holy Temple (Haggai 1:1-15). The Second Holy Temple was completed on the 3rd of Adar in the sixth year of Daryavesh’s reign (Ezra 6:15), which prompted massive celebration. This Holy Temple was destined to stand for 420 years – ten years longer than the first Holy Temple, built by King Solomon.
Even the rebuilding of the Holy Temple did not merit a new festival or a celebration for the generations, because even though Jews were free to make Aliyah, the Holy Temple was standing and functioning, all the sacrifices had been restored, and a Jewish monarch – Daryavesh II – was ruling over Israel, the Land was still ruled by a foreign empire, the nation was not independent. We were not yet “servants of Hashem” – we were still “servants of Daryavesh II” who, even though he was halachically Jewish, was nonetheless a foreign emperor.
Israel would remain in the Persian Empire until Alexander the Great invaded in 333 B.C.E. in a bloodless conquest, and Israel was absorbed into the Greek Empire. When Alexander the Great died ten years later and the Greek Empire fragmented into three successor-empires, Israel was included in the Ptolemaic Empire, ruled from Alexandria in Egypt.
In 198 B.C.E. the Seleucid (Syrian-Greek) Empire, ruled by King Antiochus III, invaded Israel from the north, defeating the Ptolemaic Empire. Seleucid reign became progressively harsher, more oppressive, and less tolerant of Judaism, until the Maccabean Revolt in 164 B.C.E.
Only after the Jews in Israel fought and won a War of Independence in the days of the Maccabees, when Israel became politically independent, was a new time for saying Hallel instituted – Chanukah, the festival which celebrates Jewish military victory over a foreign occupier and the restoration of Jewish political sovereignty in the Land of Israel.
The Sages of the Talmud chose to celebrate specifically the day that the Holy Temple was dedicated because that was the central event which epitomised the entire conflict. But the event that Chanukah celebrates is the military victory as a whole and the fact that “Jewish sovereignty was restored for more than 200 years” (Rambam, Laws of Megillah and Chanukah 3:1, Mishnah Berurah 670:1, Kitzur Shulchan Aruch 139; see also Aruch ha-Shulchan, Orach Chayyim 670:1).
All these halachic authorities – the Rambam, the Mishnah Berurah, the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch, and the Aruch ha-Shulchan – cite the military victory as the principle reason for celebrating Chanukah, and the miracle of the oil as an afterthought. The Al ha-Nissim prayer mentions only the military victory and the purification of the Holy Temple, and does not mention the miracle of the oil at all.
That was when the conditions implied in the Gemara were fulfilled: the Maccabees’ miraculous military victory over the Seleucid Empire happened in the Land of Israel, and we were once again “servants of Hashem” and no longer servants of any foreign ruler.
That period of independence would end when the Romans would invade and eventually destroy the second Holy Temple.The Land of Israel would then be under foreign occupation for close on 2,000 years, and the nation of Israel would be servants of foreigners and not “servants of Hashem”.
Only in the last generation would God once again grant us a national miracle in the Land of Israel and restore us to the status of “servants of Hashem”. And only the miracle of restored political independence in our Land could create a new day on which to say Hallel.

Chareidim around areas of Israel will be taking to the streets in protest on Wednesday evening, 17 Adar II 5774. The protests surround the arrest and jailing of a talmid yeshiva who attends the Grodna Yeshiva in Ashdod. The talmid, Yaakov Yisrael Paz, was sentenced to 10 days in an IDF jail for adhering to the words of his roshei yeshiva. He ignored his first and second draft notice....

Rabbanut’s Refusal to Perform Giyur on an Actress Revives Controversy
A decision by a Chief Rabbinate beis din to disqualify a candidate for giyur because she is an actress is being used by the agency’s opponents to prove there is a need to revamp the entire giyur system and remove the Chief Rabbinate’s exclusivity. Alin Levy explains “The rav phoned and told me they have decided to stop the process because my profession does not go together with giyur”.
According to the Yediot Achronot and Mako reports, she was also a participant in the Big Brother program and the giyur process which she began months ago has been halted as a result. This was also told by Levy to Channel 10 News on Sunday night the eve of 15 Adar II.
The woman in question was born in the Ukraine. Her mother is a non-Jew and her dad is Jewish. She began the giyur process while studying acting in the school. She tells the media the rabbonim informed her they will not meet with her until such time she abandons the acting studies and makes a major change in her lifestyle. “There is no point in continuing the process” she quotes the beis din explaining the rabbonim insist that she changes her current lifestyle....

...Make no mistake; the bill, which allows municipal rabbis to establish conversion courts, is an important and justified proposal. In addition to expanding the number of conversion courts, the bill would allow more moderate rabbis to enter the field of conversion.
...Another goal of the bill’s opponents is to make sure that only Orthodox conversions are recognized in Israel. Unlike in matters of marriage and divorce, the Orthodox monopoly on conversion has never actually been codified. For just this reason, the Supreme Court has consistently ruled in favor of recognition of Reform and Conservative conversions performed both in the Diaspora and in Israel.

I'm so excited. Very excited. I'm often very confused and very frightened about Am Yisrael, and very much awaiting Mashiach, and very much wanting that already it will be good, and that Hashem will slaughter the yetzer hara. And that we will arrive to the complete redemption and the Beit Hamikdash and bring korbanot, etc, etc. And we have another good part of the way to go, not so long - but difficult. What is closer - a massive emergency aliyah.
I want to say b'ezrat Hashem, the meeting tomorrow of hundreds of thousands of Jews in Jerusalem designed to stop the evildoer's recruitment, whose purpose is to stop the study of Torah - it won't succeed for the evildoers, because Hashem won't allow it, even though Am Yisrael is not completely deserving of miracles, and the majority of Am Yisrael does not understand the importance of Torah study, and also among our chareidim there are also enough Jews who are not really close to the truth of the Torah, even if they learn Torah, therefore, the situation is very difficult, and not for no reason. Really very difficult.
But, despite this - Hashem, in His mercy and His salvation, will rescue us. He will rescue all the real Jews. He will force them to repent - whether they want to or not. Because we are His beloved people, His sons and daughters, and He won't abandon us. Even if, God forbid, we abandon Him, He will pull us back.

I'm so excited. Very excited. I'm often very confused and very frightened about Am Yisrael, and very much awaiting Mashiach, and very much wanting that already it will be good, and that Hashem will slaughter the yetzer hara. And that we will arrive to the complete redemption and the Beit Hamikdash and bring korbanot, etc, etc. And we have another good part of the way to go, not so long - but difficult. What is closer - a massive emergency aliyah.
I want to say b'ezrat Hashem, the meeting tomorrow of hundreds of thousands of Jews in Jerusalem designed to stop the evildoer's recruitment, whose purpose is to stop the study of Torah - it won't succeed for the evildoers, because Hashem won't allow it, even though Am Yisrael is not completely deserving of miracles, and the majority of Am Yisrael does not understand the importance of Torah study, and also among our chareidim there are also enough Jews who are not really close to the truth of the Torah, even if they learn Torah, therefore, the situation is very difficult, and not for no reason. I remember it well and thank G-d, I heard the truth from reliable sources early on, before the mass brainwashing began. Some only think they know what happened. Below, there follows a comment to one of those biased articles which only serve to enforce the common lie - the cover-up which the government sold to the people from the beginning.

WHAT WOULD WE HAVE KNOWN WITHOUT THE MEDIA?
Wherever you happened to be on February 25, 1994, if you were old enough to read a newspaper you’ll likely recognize the name Baruch Goldstein. You may recall that he was a brilliant, exceedingly gifted physician, an expert in trauma medicine who, as a student at Yeshiva University, was president of his class and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 index. You may also recall that he studied medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, graduated with honors and was accepted into the AOA, America’s prestigious medical honor society.
What? It doesn’t sound familiar? You didn’t read about it in the newspapers? Oh, I’m sorry, you’re right. The media didn’t mention those particular details.
Maybe this rings a bell: When Dr. Goldstein was 25 he immigrated to Israel. He married, settled in Kiryat Arba and became the town’s chief emergency service physician. His stunning success as a trauma physician made him a living legend in the emergency wards of Jerusalem’s Hadassa and Shaarei Tzedek hospitals, where Jewish terror victims were sent after being treated by him. He also served in the I.D.F. with distinction and reached the rank of captain in the reserves. Yes, he opted to trade a life of ease for one of self-sacrifice because he thought that he was coming to a Jewish haven that wanted and needed him.
He also thought that he was coming to a democracy. In 1990 he ran for Kiryat Arba Town Council Chairman and received one seat on the Town Council – a laughable number for someone as wildly popular as him. At the time of his death he was preparing for a second run, in 1995. In fact, he had already chosen his running mate, an engineer and former Soviet refusenik named Mordechai Lapid, who immigrated to Israel in 1968 and became a pioneer of the right-wing settlement movement. When Russian immigrants began arriving in Kiryat Arba in 1990, Lapid was involved in immigrant absorption and became a popular community figure. Given the fact that his electoral base comprised 45 percent of the town’s population, with Dr. Goldstein commanding an even larger and more diverse constituency, the two were headed for a landslide victory. Both their wide lead and vigilance made election fraud an unviable solution – and democratic elections, a very real prospect that threatened to dissolve the Shin Bet’s command over Kiryat Arba and the surrounding area.
You didn’t know that, either? What about the fact that Mordechai Lapid and his son were murdered on December 6, 1993? It received wide coverage in the media. They said Lapid and his son were murdered by Arabs. When Dr. Goldstein was murdered two months later, they said the same thing. They said he was lynched by Arab worshippers after he opened fire on them in the Cave of the Patriarchs. Yes, Dr. Goldstein and his running mate were murdered two months apart. Just like it happens in El Salvador.
Here are a few more details you probably missed. Four days before the massacre, Major General Shaharam Mofaz, Commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, visited Kiryat Arba. Among the people he met with was Dr. Goldstein. During their meeting, Mofaz briefed Dr. Goldstein on what he claimed was a serious security threat in Hebron. The army had been set on high alert, he said, and civilians were being recruited. Dr. Goldstein would be called up for reserve duty in the Cave of the Patriarchs on Purim morning; the recruitment order would be sent to him shortly and he was advised to bring it with him when he reported for duty. He and three additional reservists would be stationed in the Covenants Hall, just inside the Cave’s southern gate, as a field team on standby. Colonel Meir Kalifi, Commander of the Judea Brigade, would be there with them. Finally, handing him a letter dated January 18, 1994, and signed by Major Dr. Yitzhak Ashkenazi, Commander of the Medical Corps of the Judea and Samaria Division, Mofaz informed Dr. Goldstein that he was being recommended for promotion to the rank of major on Israel Independence day. The letter concluded in bold type:
“If there is an officer worthy of promotion in rank in the Judea and Samaria region, it is, without a doubt, Dr. Baruch Goldstein.”
Shortly after the meeting, Dr. Goldstein received the recruitment order. Early Purim morning, he and three of his closest friends from Kiryat Arba – settlers he had known for years – arrived at security headquarters in their I.D.F. uniforms and were driven by a security officer named Motti Unger to the Cave of the Patriarchs....
What would we have known about that fateful day without the media? We would have known the truth. We would have known that the Massacre at the Cave of the Patriarchs on February 25, 1994, was a hoax built on the illusion that a settler staged the attack; that Dr. Goldstein had been framed in a [false] flag attack and was no less an innocent victim than those whose deaths were attributed to him. Shabbat Zachor – The awful sin of Amalek – Rabbi Meir Kahane
“Remember what Amalek did to you, on the way, when you were leaving Egypt, that he happened upon you on the way, and he struck those of you who were hindmost, all the weaklings at your rear, when you were faint and exhausted, and he did not fear G-d. It shall be that when Hashem, your G-d, gives you rest from all your enemies around, in the Land that Hashem, your G-d, gives you as an inheritance to possess it, you shall wipe out the memory of Amalek from under the heaven – you shall not forget!” (Deut. 25:17-19, Maftir of Shabbat Zachor)
Amalek’s sin is the great and eternal sin of those who refuse “to know Hashem” and to accept His yoke upon themselves, and who thereby desecrate His Name. The Children of Israel were on the way, and the word ba-derekh (“on the way”) appears here twice, indicating that they were both on the way out of Egypt and on the way to the Land of Israel: both of these components together prove G-d’s power and might in the eyes of the nations, so that they would accept the yoke of His sovereignty. And now Amalek, the foremost and most brazen representative of “I do not know Hashem” launches himself against Israel, in an attempt to demonstrate both to Israel and to the rest of the world that G-d has no power, and that He is not the G-d of history. This is the key to understanding why G-d was more angry at Amalek than at any other nation. . This was the awful sin of Amalek, regarding which it is said (Ex. 17:16), “The hand is on G-d's throne. The L-rd shall be at war with Amalek for all generations”.Our sages also comment (Pesikta Rabbati, Ch. 12): “The hand is on G-d's throne”: R. Levi said in the name of R. Chama of the school of R. Chaninah, “So to speak, as long as Amalek's offspring are on earth, G-d's name is not complete [In the verse, “G-d” is represented by the short form yud-kei], neither is His throne complete [represented by kes rather than kisei]. Once Amalek's seed is uprooted, G-d's throne is complete and His name is complete”.King David said, “Enemy! The waste places are come to an end forever, and the cities which you did uproot, their very memorial is perished” (Ps. 9:7). What follows? “But the L-rd is enthroned forever. He has established His throne for judgment.”
Amalek set out to annihilate Israel, as our sages said (Tanchuma Yashan, Yitro 4), “Why was it called 'Amalek'? Because it is am lak, 'the nation that licks'. Amalek set out to lap up Israel's blood like a dog.”Even more than this, however, Amalek came openly to insult G-d and blot out His name. Mechilta (Ibid., Parshah 1) comments regarding (Ex. 17:8), “Amalek arrived”: “Amalek came openly. In all their other attacks they came in stealth...but not here.”
Amalek attacked G-d's throne, as our sages said (Tanchuma, Ki Tetze, 11): One verse reads, “You must obliterate the memory of Amalek” (Deut. 25:19), and another reads, “I will totally obliterate the memory of Amalek” (Ex. 17:14). How can the two verses coexist? Until Amalek attacked G-d's throne, Israel were commanded to obliterate them. Henceforth, however, G-d said He would do so Himself. Can flesh and blood attack G-d's throne? Rather, because they destroyed Jerusalem, of which it says (Jer. 3:17), “At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the L-rd”, G-d said He would obliterate them.
Amalek's sin is the waging of brazen warfare against G-d, as they did when Israel left Egypt.Yet when any other nation, as well, curses and fights G-d, Amalek's sin clings to them and they become like Amalek. Thus, although Amalek, the nation, did not destroy Jerusalem, our sages say that Jerusalem's destruction constituted Amalek attacking G-d's throne. This teaches that whoever attacks G-d's throne is called Amalek. We must understand and remember this principle for our own times.
Since, in the nations' eyes, Israel's weakness and lowliness, and their suffering at the nations' hands, are interpreted as G-d's weakness and inability to save His people, and that is a Chilul Hashem, it follows that Israel's power, exaltation and victory over their own enemies and the blasphemous enemies of G-d is a Kiddush Hashem.
[For illustration, this is a quote from one of Rabbi Kahane's earlier popular books, “Listen World, Listen Jew” pp. 120-122] Do you want to know how the Name of G-d is desecrated in the eyes of the mocking and sneering nations? It is when the Jew, His people, His Chosen, is desecrated! When the Jew is beaten, G-d is profaned! When the Jew is humiliated – G-d is shamed! When the Jew is attacked – it is an assault upon the name of G-d![...] What he [the non-Jewish persecutor] is really saying is: “There is no L-rd, there is no G-d of Israel and if there is, He is an impotent and helpless god. For if He truly existed as the Omnipotent and All-powerful Sovereign of the Universe, His people would not be in exile, they could not be at my mercy, they could not be beaten and shamed and humiliated by me.”
This is the desecration of G-d's name. Every pogrom is a desecration of the Name. Every Auschwitz and expulsion and murder and rape of a Jew is the humiliation of G-d. Every time a Jew is beaten by a gentile because he is a Jew, this is the essence of Chilul Hashem. An end to Exile – that is Kiddush Hashem. An end to the shame and the beatings and the monuments to our murdered and our martyred. An end to Kaddish and prayers for the dead. A shaking off of the dust of the Exile and its shame and a return to a Jewish state of our own created with the fire and the spitting of Jewish guns. A Jewish fist in the face of an astonished gentile world that had not seen it for two millenia. This is Kiddush Hashem. Reading angry editorials about Jewish “aggression” and “violations” rather than flowery eulogies over dead Jewish victims. That is Kiddush Hashem.
The State of Israel came into being not because the Jew deserved it, but because the gentile did. It came into being not because the Jew was worthy of it but because the Name of G-d had reached its fill of humiliation and desecration. “I do this not for your sake, O House of Israel, but for Mine holy Name's sake which ye have profaned among the nations”. G-d established a principle that as long as Israel possesses a sovereign government with the power to blot out Amalek's memory, it is a mitzvah and a duty for them to do so. For this reason our sages said (Sifri, Re'eh, 67): Israel were commanded regarding three mitzvot for when they entered the Land: to appoint a king, build the Temple and destroy Amalek's seed. I would not know which one comes first if not for Scripture saying, “The hand is on G-d's throne. The L-rd shall be at war with Amalek for all generations” (Ex. 17:16). As long as a king sits on G-d's throne, we destroy Amalek's seed. How do we know that “G-d's throne” refers to a king? It says (I Chronicles 29:23), “Solomon sat on G-d's throne to reign”.
We must understand that today, with G-d kindly having restored our land and sovereignty, we must once more share with Him in blotting out Amalek if its existence is clear to us.
[Asides from current events like Arab attacks on Israel, Iran’s threats and other brazen attempts to delegitimize or coerce Israel, there is one more aspect of this in our times, mentioned by Rabbi Kahane in another one of his popular books, “Uncomfortable Questions for Comfortable Jews”, p. 271]: Jewish self-respect and honor must be resurrected with an end to the humiliating obscenity of carefree political relations with the Amalek of our times, Germany. Was there a greater abomination than that of Israel establishing relations with Germany less than a decade after Auschwitz? And for money reparations, of course! Today, there is not the slightest feeling of guilt on the part of the Israelis who happily travel on business or vacation to Munich and Frankfurt and Hamburg; many of whom live there. There is no guilt on the part of a state that regularly sends youth on cultural and sports excursions to walk on the land stained with Jewish blood. There is no guilt felt when Jewish and Israeli leaders [...] travel to Germany and eat and drink with the Germans at state dinners, or when a high-ranking German official arrives in Israel and the Israeli army band plays the German national anthem, “Deutschland Uber Alles” as the new Hebrews stand at attention with respect. The Germans owe us reparations. The money does not absolve them of one sin, of one crime, of one murder. But they owe us reparations for property and we owe them nothing. Political and cultural ties will be cut with the Germans and they will be expected to fulfill, to the letter, their obligations to the Jewish people.[...]
G-d will go forth to avenge His great name, profaned among the nations, and to avenge the Jewish People, through whose humiliation and distress at the hands of the nations His name was profaned. The Prophet Obadiah was an Edomite convert, as our sages say (Sanhedrin 39b): “Obadiah was an Edomite convert, illustrating the adage that, 'the axe comes from the very forest.'” Rashi explains, “From the forest, itself, comes the wood for the handle of the axe that chops it down. Such was Obadiah to Edom and David to Moab, David being descended from Ruth the Moabite.
Who, as much as Obadiah, a former non-Jew, knew the nations hatred of the Jewish People! Addressing the redemption, Obadiah prophesied (Obadiah 8-12, 15): Surely, says the L-rd, on that day I shall destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the Mount of Esau. Your mighty men, O Yemen, shall be dismayed, such that everyone from the Mount of Esau shall be cut off by slaughter. For your violence against your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you and you shall be cut off forever. On the day that you stood aloof, that strangers took his force captive and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots upon Jerusalem, you too were one of them.You should not have looked on the day of your brother, the day of his misfortune, nor rejoiced over the children of Judah on the day of their destruction. [...] For the day of the L-rd is near upon all the nations. As you have done, so shall be done to you. Your deeds shall return upon your own head.
As long as exile and servitude were decreed for Israel, G-d restrained Himself. Hence, the fools thought He did not exist, and they mocked the Jewish people (Ps. 115:2): “Why should the nations say, 'Where is their G-d'”? Yet His silence in the face of His name being profaned was a heroic act.G-d, despite His silence, has not forgotten the insult, there being no forgetting before His throne of glory. Revenge is concealed with Him for the future, sealed up in His treasury, and vengeance and retribution are His.

Shabbat Zachor – The awful sin of Amalek – Rabbi Meir Kahane
“Remember what Amalek did to you, on the way, when you were leaving Egypt, that he happened upon you on the way, and he struck those of you who were hindmost, all the weaklings at your rear, when you were faint and exhausted, and he did not fear G-d. It shall be that when Hashem, your G-d, gives you rest from all your enemies around, in the Land that Hashem, your G-d, gives you as an inheritance to possess it, you shall wipe out the memory of Amalek from under the heaven – you shall not forget!” (Deut. 25:17-19, Maftir of Shabbat Zachor)
Amalek’s sin is the great and eternal sin of those who refuse “to know Hashem” and to accept His yoke upon themselves, and who thereby desecrate His Name. The Children of Israel were on the way, and the word ba-derekh (“on the way”) appears here twice, indicating that they were both on the way out of Egypt and on the way to the Land of Israel: both of these components together prove G-d’s power and might in the eyes of the nations, so that they would accept the yoke of His sovereignty. And now Amalek, the foremost and most brazen representative of “I do not know Hashem” launches himself against Israel, in an attempt to demonstrate both to Israel and to the rest of the world that G-d has no power, and that He is not the G-d of history. This is the key to understanding why G-d was more angry at Amalek than at any other nation. . This was the awful sin of Amalek, regarding which it is said (Ex. 17:16), “The hand is on G-d's throne. The L-rd shall be at war with Amalek for all generations”.Our sages also comment (Pesikta Rabbati, Ch. 12): “The hand is on G-d's throne”: R. Levi said in the name of R. Chama of the school of R. Chaninah, “So to speak, as long as Amalek's offspring are on earth, G-d's name is not complete [In the verse, “G-d” is represented by the short form yud-kei], neither is His throne complete [represented by kes rather than kisei]. Once Amalek's seed is uprooted, G-d's throne is complete and His name is complete”.King David said, “Enemy! The waste places are come to an end forever, and the cities which you did uproot, their very memorial is perished” (Ps. 9:7). What follows? “But the L-rd is enthroned forever. He has established His throne for judgment.”
