Hamas Sources Claim: Idan Alexander to be Released at 12:00 PM
The London-based Arabic newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat reported from senior Hamas sources that the terror organization will release hostage Idan Alexander at 12:00 PM. (Einav Halabi)

Senior Hamas Official: 'We Were Advised to Give Trump a Gift - He Will Return a Better One'
A senior Hamas official, speaking anonymously to AP news agency because he 'was not authorized to speak to the media,' said that hostage Idan Alexander is expected to be released today and that the terror organization was advised to 'give a gift to President Trump, who in return will give back a better gift.' U.S. considering flying Idan Alexander to Qatar for meeting with Trump
The U.S. is examining the possibility that Steve Witkoff, President Donald Trump's envoy, will take Idan Alexander and his family by plane to Qatar to meet with Trump after his release, ynet has learned. Flying Alexander is contingent upon his release from captivity, but this is a direction being considered by the Americans. According to estimates, Trump will not come to meet him. (Itamar Eichner)

Saudi journalist: 'Trump needs our support. Israel will have to compromise for normalization'
Abdul Aziz Al-Khamis, a senior Saudi journalist, said in an interview with ynet studio that U.S. President Donald Trump 'needs Saudi Arabia's support in the Middle East, and Israel will have to give something in return for normalizing relations with Saudi Arabia.' According to him, 'The Israeli-Palestinian conflict must be resolved, and part of the problem is the situation in the Gaza Strip.' Al-Khamis referred to the Hamas terror organization as 'an extension of Iran.' (Alexandra Lukash)   (Source:  Ynet Breaking News)

...“It’s hard for me to escape the idea that President Trump is going to the Gulf because this is his happy place,” said Jon Alterman, director of the Middle East program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

“His hosts will be generous and hospitable. They’ll be keen to make deals. They’ll flatter him and not criticize him, and they’ll treat his family members as past and future business partners.”

...The wealthy Arab states will mix pomp and ceremony for the 78-year-old billionaire with deals that could span defense, aviation, energy and artificial intelligence.

“The president looks forward to embarking on his historic return to the Middle East” to promote a vision where “extremism is defeated [through] commerce and cultural exchanges,” spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said Friday.

Typical Eisav!!  I am ecstatic that he is not coming here.  B"H!!!

  1. They're going to drag an abused, starved young man who is coming out of the tunnels of gehinnom after more than a year to Qatar???? To do what? Kiss the feet of the Qataris? This has to be false. If his parents allow it, then they prioritize politics over the well-being of their child.

    1. It's bad enough it's even been suggested publicly. These people do not live in reality. Let's hope the doctors nix it in the interests of his health. Politicians are idiots. Can't see past their own interests.

    2. I can't vouch for the accuracy of this report, but this is the latest I've seen:
"Edan Alexander to be released at 6:30 p.m. local time"
"If his health allows it and he is willing, American-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander will fly to Qatar to meet with President Donald Trump and the Emir of Qatar."

Still, it's just beyond belief that they are going to try to take him straight out of over 500 days in a tunnel straight to Doha to face Trump and the Emir!!!!! I'm praying wiser and more compassionate minds prevail. I guess the parents are now too beholden to Trump to put their son's best interests paramount.

      Hashem yerachem!!

  3. I really thought, for once, Israel would finally be able to defeat the enemy. Well, I guess it isn't so. Trump has really put Israel, especially Netanyahu in a predicament. What happened to "all hell will break loose". When Trump suggested the Gaza population could be relocated it was a shock to many. Few would have suggested such a bold move. The Kach party learned what would be the result. But when Trump suggested it multiple times some began to develop policies to accommodate it. That now seems abandoned and where does that leave Israel; played the fool.

I don't know if he is a Rabbi, but one person was suggesting part of Ovadyah was possibly describing Biden. Recently I went back and re-read it and I imagine it being about Trump.

  4. Are we facing an American coup right now?! They are acting outside our government and making agreements on our behalf, expecting us to comply with their directives!!!

(TOI) The release of Edan Alexander will immediately lead into talks for a wider arrangement aimed at ending the war in Gaza, CNN quotes a source familiar with the indirect talks between the US and Hamas saying.

“We’re going to go into immediate peace deal negotiations,” the source says.

US officials, including President Donald Trump, have portrayed the release of Alexander as a first step toward ending the war and releasing all hostages.

Agriculture Minister Avi Dichter, a former head of the Shin Bet seen as close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said earlier in the day that Israel would resist US pressure to end the war in Gaza without meeting its aims.

“We’re not the 51st star on the [US] flag,” Dichter told the Kan public broadcaster. “The war’s goals haven’t changed.”

    2. Traitors one and all...

The 'Commanders for Israel's Security' movement, which comprises about 550 former senior officials in the Israeli security establishment, sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump. In their letter, the officials called 'to use the President's visit to the Middle East to advance the return of all hostages and end the war.' They also clarified that they would publicly stand by him 'in any decision and effort that promotes these actions.'

    3. Follow up: (JPost) "US Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff is set to meet with members of the Israeli cabinet on Wednesday, AP reported on Tuesday. An Israeli official clarified that Witkoff will not be instructing the cabinet on any policy."

I wonder if anyone has told witless Witkoff that.

    4. That's weird. The article was timed 12:40 on May 12, 2025, but it's not Tuesday yet.

  5. why to expect winning war by erev rav leaders? do they want geula? Hashem is pushing them to destroy evil, but only mashiach will finish the war. Don't we know it?

  6. I think all this backlash to Israel has something to do with all the pressure the government has put in the “Haredim” . Things will be much better if the yeshivot here in Israel were not under so much pressure. We also fight with Torah and mitzvot.

  7. Basically, this is all working itself out this way because the Jews must learn that there is no one to depend on, except Hashem!
The Erev Rav leftists don't gove a hoot about the Jews or the
Land and the nasi of Artzot Habrit thinks that the only real power on
    earth is 'money' power.
This whole episode is getting us deeper into Geulah more than we
    can even imagine.
Everything is convoluted right now; whatever it is, it is leading us to
the Geulah Shleimah - may it be with great Rachamim aleinu!

  8. A message from Baba Baruch, who received a gilui from his father the Baba Sali,
NOW IS ET RATZON FOR THE GEULA,
Now that Trump has turned , Jews must say to Hashem I trust in You alone.
A while ago Rav Naftali said Jews putting their trust in Trump was delaying the geula.

  9. Wow...Trump promising Hamas a gift!!
I have a horrible feeling he's going to demand the war end, Hamas stays in Aza, pretends to step down in power and the other terrorists from the PA take over in conjunction with a US military base being built there which ensures Israel can never attack them again for fear of harming our US "allies" interests. How can people trust a man who tried his deal of the century last time he was in office and is friends with Tucker Carlson (a raging anti semite) and a renegade Jew like Witkoff?
    We need Moshiach immediately!!

  10. I thought I saw a post somewhere that Trump made bad remarks about Israel...does anyone have a link?
It scares me how much Jews love and trust Trump....people I know who were considering aliyah changed their minds when Trump won and stayed in the US. It would help to wake people up a bit if they could see he isn't messiah or even particularly trustworthy.
