Redeeming the Inner Aspects of Kedusha

29 Iyyar 5785
Yom Kippur Katan - Erev Rosh Chodesh Sivan
44 Days of the Omer

Just wanted to share some critical information from last week's parshah commentary...

Ramchal on the Parsha - Behar: Redeeming More Than the Land

...The Torah proceeds to outline the various procedures with regards to selling and redeeming fields.  The fields are considered the outer aspects of kedusha which have fallen into the tumah and must be redeemed.  The loftier inner aspects of the kedusha are represented by the houses inside the walled cities.

And a man who sells his house in a walled city can redeem his property until the conclusion of one year.  If he does not redeem his house before a full year has passed his house which is in the walled city will be established for perpetuity as the possession of the buyer for generations, it will not be released in the Jubilee (Vayikra 25:29-30).

The houses within a walled city represent a loftier inner aspect, thus the Torah encourages the seller to redeem the property as soon as possible. To motivate the seller, the Torah states that if the property is not redeemed within the first year then it would remain sold without the option of redemption.  Houses located in fields, however, are given the status of the fields themselves, which if not immediately redeemed will be returned in the Yovel to the original owner.  Why does the Torah grant additional motivation to the seller of houses in walled cities, and not to one who sells fields or houses in fields?

Houses represent spiritual roots and when given over to the tumah great efforts must be expended in order to extricate them.  Their lofty nature requires them to be returned to kedusha as soon as possible.  If Bnei Yisroel do not take appropriate steps to extract these aspects of kedusha from the tumah they will be unable to awaken this trend in the upper spiritual realms either.  The Torah therefore attempts to motivate man with these warnings.  The houses within walled cities represent the inner aspects of the kedusha, while fields as well as houses situated in fields represent outer aspects of kedusha When the inner aspects are elevated and redeemed, the outer aspects will automatically be elevated and redeemed as well, as alluded to in the pasuk:

And the houses in the open cities which do not have walls around them will be considered like fields of the land, they will have redemption and they will be released in the Jubilee (Vayikra 25:31).

These properties revert back to the original owner even without any action on the part of the seller to redeem them.

How do we awaken the redemption of the inner aspects of the kedusha, which will elevate Bnei Yisroel and the Shechina from the tumah of exileThe only way to accomplish this is by learning Torah and observing mitzvoth.  Malachi, last of the prophets, therefore admonishes Bnei Yisroel:

Remember the Torah of Moshe My servant, which I commanded him at Horeb for all of Israel - decrees and statutes (Malachi 3:22).

The prophet is informing us that by learning Torah and observing mitzvoth we are able to being about the redemption of the inner aspects of kedusha.  When Bnei Yisroel do so, then Hashem will respond by sending the מלאך הברית, "the angel of the covenant" to complete the redemption of the outer aspects of the kedusha as well.  The end result will be the complete and Final Redemption as the prophet continues:

Behold I send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and awesome day of Hashem, and he will turn back the hearts of fathers with their sons and the hearts of sons with their fathers (Malachi 3:23-24).

Unless we learn the Torah, we have no clue what we are supposed to do, but if we only learn and do not put into practice what we learn, we have not accomplished the job and therefore will not reach the goal.  That's why the Sitra Achra gives so much attention to disrupting Torah learning and persecuting Torah learners.

When redemption feels very far away, it's time to double up on learning and performing!!

May the learning of this Torah result in increased observance which will serve to redeem the inner aspects of kedusha and hasten the Final Redemption.

  1. The following was passed along to me - an eyewitness testimony from the funeral of YL. Let this be the last warning on this subject about what it means to have the government of Israel in bed with the Christian missionaries to the point that the US Ambassador to Israel (Huckabee) not only endorses proselytizers but is himself one.

The funeral service yesterday of Yaron Lishinsky was a deeply moving and even historic event. It was done under the covering of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The testimonies from non believing governmental officials were very moving and the ‘hesped’ of the believers glorified Yeshua openly. Amidst all the words about Yeshua, the Chevra Kadisha performed the funeral in a fully Jewish way when the official from the Chevra Kadisha stood right next to the speakers hearing all that was said and proclaimed. He himself seemed to be very moved in his heart by the way he spoke and recited scripture. Multitudes were there and amidst all the pain and tragedy, Yeshua revealed something of His Face to Israel as He was lifted up as the righteous Messiah of Israel before all present. Eternal life in Him was proclaimed before all and the joy and reality of Heaven! A new day is dawning amidst all the sadness, pain and tears…..

    Hashem yerachem aleinu!

    1. Someone sent me a clip from Sarah Milgram's funeral which was live-streamed today. Her father was eulogizing her and revealed two more disturbing facts about his daughter: 1) She had "Palestinian friends" in the "West Bank" which she visited in their homes, "realizing how much they had in common"; and, 2) next week, upon her arrival in Israel to meet Yaron's family, in addition to having a baptism, she was to "lead a group of LGBT+ in the annual [abomination] parade in Jerusalem." Yes, that's coming up on Thursday, June 5th.

  2. Wasn't this fellow that died, his Father was Jewish....but not his Mother. it was horrible what happened, but it doesn't surprise me that they would be praying to Yeshka. It is Idolatry!
I have personally chased missionaries off of a bus by screaming They are Missionaries!!. Many here don't speak English so people think I'm a nutter. Apparently it isn't illegal, except when missionizing is done to children.
When I find pamphlets in my mail box I give it to my Son in law and he reports it to Yad L'Achim for me.

  3. What doesn't make any sense is, why would the chevra kadisha be involved with the burial of a goy? He was not a Jew according to halacha and the chevra kadisha is usually run by Charedim.

How many other pseudo Jews have intermarried without a halachic conversion and silently been mixed into the population. What a mess. Hashem yerachem.

  5. This post was one of the most disturbing of late. This state was obviously a non-Jewish one from the beginning of its
establishment 77 years ago. It is told that Amaleik were genius imposters and here we can see it for ourselves. From the start, they
were acting as Jews while they were perpetrating one of the greatest
    frauds of all time.
But, as some commenters here say, we, the true Jews, must continue
to keep Torah alive and thriving and Hashem will answer our cries and
the victory will, of course, be ours. The Jews are waking up and
realizing, maybe for the first time, that we have NO friends and only
our Father in Heaven, HKB'H, is our hope because He is our Father,
our King, our Master, our Lord and Creator of everything. Only 'we are
His Am She'bochar banu and Watches over us every nanosecond.
We pray that many will do teshuva realizing because of their galut
mentality and ignorance, they were duped all along. This will prove
    who the real Jews are.
We pray we are closer to Geulah than we think and all the nevuot
from our Holy Neviim will soon come to pass bringing us to total
Redemption (we pray b'chesed u'v'rachamim aleinu) and all avoda
zorah and evil will be gone, b'ezrat Hashem. The trouble is the Jews
were asleep all this time, leading us to this low point in our history
There was no outcry from the public allowing all this missionizing to
take place and it just got worse and worse in so many ways.
    H' Yerachem!
