I have a theory which is based on some really good evidence. I believe that a lot of the Erev Rav, who followed us out of Egypt, are found among American Jewry today. I believe that these are the ones leading the way to religiously-observant assimilation by creating a new form of "Judaism" which is most aptly termed Judeo-Christianity. As their name implies, the Erev Rav are a mixture from among the nations and their goal is to mix Klal Yisrael with the nations. They pay only lip service to the Torah and they are dangerous because they assume leadership positions in order to mislead the klal, much the same way that they did with the Eigel HaZahav.
As the moderator of Tzvi Fishman's recent Aliyah Conference, Josh Wander had the ultimate responsibility to eject the missionary/provocateur Chaim Malespin (see previous blog post), and now we know why he did not. He has no problem with idolatry or idolatrous people. And this is the way of the present-day Erev Rav.
Who Is Josh Wander?
He actually has a Wikipedia page. I have to admit that I was a bit shocked. Even I did not expect this...
Josh Wander is an American perennial candidate who was the Republican nominee for Mayor of Pittsburgh in the 2013 general election. He was also featured in a segment on the reality television Doomsday Preppers. He is also a public relations consultant representing projects in, and around the Old City of Jerusalem. He holds dual citizenship in the United States and Israel.
In an episode of the National Geographic Channel program Doomsday Preppers, Wander was quoted as saying that he was concerned "about a series of catastrophic terrorist attacks which will fundamentally change our lives as we know them." He founded the "Bring Them Home" organization to encourage Diaspora Jewry to relocate to Israel. He is a certified NRA arms instructor and gun rights advocate. In 2003 Wander started a website to mobilize support for shipping the Statue of Liberty back to France. In a National Public Radio interview he discussed the alternate possibility of decapitating the statue and sending back "just her head" because "then they'll [France] really know we're serious."
And there are just so many more like him! Israel365 seems to be a meeting place for them. All of the ones I am aware of are associated with it in some way, and they in turn are associated in some way with all the missionary groups in Israel. Go figure!
[See "...Israel 365's Josh Wander and Bridges for Peace"]
Why are we talking about this now, nearly halfway through Elul? Repentance! We are commanded to separate from the Erev Rav and not to share in their sin. (Shemot 32:33-34)
"...the war against the erev rav is the most difficult and most bitter, and we must use all our remaining forces to win this war. Whoever is not engaged in actively fighting the erev rav becomes an automatic partner to the husk of the erev rav, and whoever this may be it would be better for him had he not been created." (Kol HaTor, chapter II, part II, section II)If you feel you have been misidentified as Erev Rav, you need to repent for acting like one. The tree is identified by its fruit.

- To entertain no thought that there is any other god except the blessed God.
- To make no idol to worship.
- Not to make any idol to be worshiped [by himself or by anyone else], even for a heathen.
- Not to bow down and prostrate oneself to an idol.
- Not to worship an idol in any way that it is usually venerated.
- Not to swear in the name of an idol.
- Not to lead a town in Israel astray to worship in idolatry.
- To eat or drink nothing from an offering to an idol.
- Not to turn one's attention to idolatry.
- To have no benefit from any decoration of an idol or from its ornaments.
- To have no benefit from an idol, from its offering or its attendants, or anything done on its behalf. [Considering that this is the basis upon which Hayovel offers its services to Israeli farmers, that means no Jew may have benefit from the grapes they pick or the wine that comes from them.]
- Not to intermarry with a non-Jewish person.
- To have no mercy on idol-worshipers.
- Not to pay any heed to a person prophesying in the name of an idol.
- To entice no one in Jewry to worship an idol. [Enticing Jews to form loving relationships with idolaters is so close as to be right on the edge!]
- For the enticed person not to relinquish his hatred for the enticer.
- Not to rescue the enticer if one sees him in danger of death.
- Not to prophesy in the name of an idol.
- Not to settle idol-worshipers in our holy land. [Har Brachah???]
One of the most fundamental errors some rabbis have made (even ones that we have respected in the past) is stating that Protestants even [magically? all of a sudden?] are no longer idol worshippers (practitioners of foreign worship is better IMO. I don't know the exact terms used by the Hafez Hayim), that goyim are allowed intercessors, blah, blah, blah. (That doesn't mean they can live here!)
ReplyDeleteLately, I am seeing more and more people I thought would know better, talk about letting good Arabs remain while forcing only the bad ones (proven terrorists and rock throwers) to leave. That's wrong on three counts:
Delete1. These have the status of the seven nations because they - all of them - continue to claim all of the land rightfully belongs to them.
2. They are either Muslim or Christian - both which count as avodah zarah according to the Noahide laws; therefore, they cannot remain.
3. In the past, the ger toshav status was given to people who were essentially religious refugees. They were righteous god-fearing gentiles who wanted to live their lives in accordance with the Torah, i.e. Noahide laws. Eretz Yisrael was the only place that was possible. That no longer applies. Since we are told that converts will not be accepted anymore once Mashiach comes, it stands to reason that there will also be no gerei toshav in EY anymore either.
I see Muslims don't keep Noahide laws entirely but how are they categorized as avodah zara? I always learned a Jew can enter a mosque for that reason but not a church.
DeleteThey created an entirely new religion, which would have been bad enough, but then they said it replaced the Torah and forcibly converted everyone under their influence.
DeleteThe issue is what the Rambam means by the term "avodah zarav" (foreign worship). He does say that Muslims are not. However, before this he uses the term as any stam goy (non-ben noah). There are many other requirements to become a ben noah and subsequently a ger toshav (resident alien) that many rabbis are unwilling to address, or are simply not really focused on, because "we're not there yet."
DeleteIf I remember correctly the Tur states the Rambam does not exclude Ishmaelites here (so even more so Christians). The Beth Yosef and the [uncensored] Bach concur.
The other issue not addressed is that kefira (denial of the Torah) was one of the reasons behind the removal of the Canaanites.
Rambam: Laws of Repentance 3:17
There are three individuals who are considered as one "who denies the Torah":...
...c) one who says that though the Torah came from God, the Creator has replaced one mitzvah with another one and nullified the original Torah, like the (Hagarim) Arabs and the Christians.
Yet, another reason they may not reside here. Gerei Toshav must accept the Torah as true in its entirety.
Was also under the impression the Yishmaelim by developing a new (retroactive) replacement religion are engaging in foreign worship, with even their superficial monotheism containing a more subtle form of idolatry in a Pesel Micha form by using God to justify their own abominable actions. The following article by Rabbi Weissman pretty much describes the Yishmaelite usage of God as a prop to a tee.

As for the Rambam one must take into consideration that he lived under Yishmaelite rule (fleeing persecution by the Almohads to Egypt becoming the personal physician of Saladin) and while he was relatively outspoken in Iggeret Teiman, it would likely have not been in his interest to offend the Yishmaelim by viewing as idol / foreign worshipers. Hence his focus on the commonalities between the Jewish and the Yishmaelite religions (as opposed to Xianity) as well as his views on Reincarnation echoing the Yishmaelim whom associated the idea with heretical Yishmaelite sects.
Just so tired... No words left. Everyone I looked to for a grain of truth and authenticity has been systematically exposed. I know this is Hashem's way of stripping away our dependencies and that He wants a 1 on 1 relationship with us, but I'm just so.. tired...
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, I know the feeling well.
DeleteWe are all so so tired.. this video is shocking.. but it is for the good that it was exposed.. We have to cling to HKBH and hang in there..
DeleteIt's always been simple to me. The Torah does not allow anyone who is not a Jew or a non-Noahide to live in the Land of Israel. But the state of Israel, with every passing year, has allowed every Jewish law to be transgressed, so until Moshiach is here, it just gets worse and that is how real Jews (whether observant or not so observant) will realize how they have all been duped for all these years since the creation of the State.
ReplyDeleteHow do you know who's an erev rav? Less speculation and more evidence, please. Is your theory based on a big rav?
ReplyDeleteYou learn what Torah sources have to teach us about it. It's a complicated subject because our sources tell us that there are actually five types. My "theory" took a more simplistic, although entirely accurate view, that they are a mixture and wish to turn us into one also, i.e. Judeo-Christianity. If you don't know any more than that, it will help you to oppose this error and not find yourself participating in something that Hashem hates.
DeleteIt has to be possible to identify them or else the GR"A would not have said that anyone who does not fight against them would be better off never having been born.
I was just given a .pdf copy of a brand new work on the subject called Erev Rav Talks. Looks really good. Plus I have some very interesting things coming on Sunday, iy"H. Watch for it!
DeleteJust printed it out for Shabbos. Thank you!
