16 Tishrei 5786
1st Day Chol HaMo'ed Sukkot
Mo'adim l'Simchah!
It's really irritating to see all this "second anniversary of Oct. 7th" garbage coming from the nations who reckon everything by their own flawed calendar and worse still to see so many Israelis follow suit.
They are not going to impose it on the Torah Jews, however. For us, it will forever be Shmini Atzeret/Simchat Torah when murderous Arabs invaded our Land from Gaza. It proves the connection between the atrocities and their hatred of HKB"H. It proves the connection to the Torah. Naming it "Oct 7th" is a malicious move to strip it of meaning and impact. It keeps people clueless as to why it happened in the first place.
Don't participate in it. Correct the record where you can. We are still a week away from that "anniversary."
Anyone who chooses the first day of Sukkot - zeman simchateinu - to mourn this event is being lead into sin just after repenting on Yom Kippur. Public displays of mourning are prohibited during Shabbats and Holy Days.

Today, the news is full of the "ceremonies" held around the country to "remember Oct 7th." It is shocking how out of touch Israelis STILL ARE when it comes to their own culture and laws.
ReplyDeleteFor once, this government made a correct decision despite the criticism it is getting for it...
(TOI) The government has opted instead to recognize a national day of remembrance corresponding to the Hebrew anniversary of the Hamas attack. Since it happened on the Jewish holiday of Simhat Torah, and the following day is a transition day known as Isru Chag, the annual remembrance day is marked two days after the actual Hebrew anniversary, on the 24th of the month of Tishrei, which falls this year on Thursday, October 16.
Sad to say that all these people who are so enamored with the West and so attached to it are going to go down with it. They just think they have problems now.
