Geulah Watch - Next 24 Hours?

20 Tishrei 5785
5th Day Chol HaMo'ed Sukkot

A year ago at this time, I was watching and waiting for the beginning of WW3 and the beginning of the War of GoguMagog.  I never imagined that a full year later it would still be going on or that it would be as costly or as brutal as it has turned out to be.  I'm guessing the year of plagues in Egypt was very similar.

Consider the following excerpts which are featured at the Shirat Devorah blog...
...Rav Yitzchok Zilberstein,, speaking at his beis midrash in Ramat Elchanan, Bnei Brak, mentioned the mesorah passed down through generations from the Vilna Gaon stating that the War of Gog and Magog will take place during three hours of Hoshanah Rabbah, and whoever wants to be saved should sit in the sukkah. Concerning this, it is said, “For He will conceal me in His sukkah on the day of evil” – the day of evil being the War of Gog and Magog – and whoever wishes to be saved should sit in the sukkah, said Rav Zilberstein.  Rav Zilberstein noted that his brother-in-law, Rav Chaim Kanievsky, said that these three hours refer to the hours before sunrise on Hoshanah Rabbah.

..."The Gemara describes the seven years before Mashiach's arrival.  In the first two years, the rain will be different. During the third year, many tzaddikim will be niftar. This will continue into the first half of the fourth year, the last six months of which will be good. These are understood to be the Covid years. In year five, the Gemara tells us, "Torah chozeres el lomdehah" - we'll come back to the Torah. Yeshivos and batei medrash will re-open, and we'll experience shefa in both ruchniyus [spirituality]  and gashmiyus [physicality].  ln the sixth year, the year after shemittah, there will be rumors that Mashiach is coming. The seventh year - 5784, according to this cheshbon - will be full of wars. Then Mashiach will arrive."

~ Sunrise in Jerusalem on Hoshanah Rabbah will be approximately 06:48. ~

The entire holiday so far has been very difficult for me this year, but the past two days were the hardest days I've had, I think, for the entire year.  It's like everything just caught up with me.  I've never felt so close to giving up, but I just kept clinging on by my fingernails and this morning, that dark mood has lifted and I feel calm and at peace and some measure of happiness.  Like a major battle has just ended.  Maybe it's all over in Shamayim and now it just remains to be realized in this world.

~ With that in mind, I am on active geulah watch.  Join me! ~

    1. Apparently, I saw it at the time. Can't remember a thing about it. Tried the Wayback Machine but it recently suffered a major hack and seems not to be fully recovered.

I don't agree with your assessment of these years already happening. Who says the tzadikim dying "it is understood to be the Covid years"???
There has been no Shefa in gashmiyus since Covid, the opposite! People have been ruined.
We can figure this out by the shemitta year: the next one is 5788-89 (2028-29). This would put the 6th year ("the year AFTER shemitta") when rumors of moshiach come at 5789-90 which is that 2030 date coming up again when the PTB plan something huge. The 7th year after that is full of wars and that makes sense with Moshaich ben Yosef fighting wars against this one world government. Then after that will come the Geula.
According to this plan... this coming year (2024-2025 which is 5785) and the next (5786) should have some very strange rains. Let's wait and see! if it happens, this may be the last 7 years before moshiach. Shabbat Shalom!

  4. What do you think happened Devorah....Gog U Magog was supposed to have happened on Hoshana Raba. All the gedolim were saying we are very close. But nothing happened. Do you think we are still in the process of chas v challah its been delayed to the next cycle? I cant take this anymore I'm desperate for Moshiach to come, I'm trying to do everything but its getting so difficult. Do we really need to wait another awful 7 years? Did we miss the deadline again?

    1. I have no doubt whatsoever that GoguMagog started last Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah. It began with an invasion of Israel and a list of atrocities occurred that are described in detail in the Haftarah of the first day of Sukkot and agreed by all commentators that it describes the War of GoguMagog.

I at first hoped we would see the conclusion of it last Pesach. As I'm sure you know, our wars don't usually last this long. The,I hoped it would end after a year like in MItzrayim, the pagues lasted a full year. Now, I hope for Hanukkah oir next Pesach, but...

I recently read that there are three aspects to Mashiach's arrival - the footsteps of Mashiach; the birthpangs of Mashiach; and finally leidat Mashiach - the birth of Mashiach which the author said the Zohar identifies as a two-year process. So, we may be in this situation another whole year or not as there is also an aspect of "in it's time, I will hasten it." I'm pressed for time right now and will try to address this further in another blog post soon.

  5. Rav Alon Anava also thinks it will be in 5788-89. But I don't agree with Deb, there definitely is shefa, there never has been more shefa, but it is expensive and people cannot afford it. And that is exactly what's written in the previous gemarra, (I think )

    1. Interesting viewpoint! There is something that says "There will be wine in abundance but the prices will be high" so you may be onto something.

    2. The only day you are supposed to want the geula is today.
More pushing off the geula in people's minds. Aren't people tired already of all the calculations. They've all been wrong up until now.
Anyone who has the strength should cry out ofr the geula right this minute. We've been through quite enough, with no end in sight.

  6. "Nothing"... for some reason I cannot reply directly to your post but I wanted to say... this is the exact reason why the Sages tell us NOT to calculate: because people lose faith and get burnt out. Like moshiach fatigue. It's the YH that makes us feel "I can't stand it anymore!" and feeling like we want to give up of moshiach ever coming. Dangerous! Let us all, who feel this way- and there are many of us, not fall into that trap. In the very link that was given here at this site (by Shimshon: https://web.archive.org/web/20111213232307/http://vbm-torah.org/sukkot/suk71-rml.htm) it is explained that Zekaria and Yechezkel write about moshiach in different ways. Yechezkel writes about moshiach as far as bringing us National redemption but Zecharia speaks of bringing sanctification of Hashem's name. Hashem suffers a lot when His name is desecrated and He is seen as not powerful enough to protect His people, etc. But He is long suffering to being moshiach at the correct time. If we see it through Zecharia's way, maybe Hashem delays and delays because He wants all (or most) of His children to be ready and be saved. None of us want some of our children to be saved and one or more to be "damned" so to speak and left out. Only Hashem calculates when is the right time and perhaps He is waiting for more teshuva amongst His children. Isn't that the purpose and goal of all of our suffering these wars and hardships? To illicit teshuva? There are so many ignorant secular Jews and off the derech Jews... Hashem wants all His children back and perhaps He is willing to be even more long suffering to wait for this and try to encourage it? Whenever we feel the "I can't stand this! I'm ready to give up!" we can put our efforts into kiruv and also to improving ourselves (because as much as we may think we are, none of us are really perfected and ready for moshiach yet). To truly want what is best for Hashem, we have to keep remembering that it is HE who calculates the correct time for His purposes and His will. As long as the geula hasn't come yet, it is because that is His will and there is a very good reason for it. Stay strong and trust Hashem! The longer we wait, the sweeter it will be. A healthy and peaceful 5785 to us all.
