This Relationship Was Defined From Day One

 6 Iyyar 5784
Day 21 of the Omer
Yom Ha'atzma'ut Observed

Do you see the scratched out word?

Before approving Israel's request for recognition by the United States, Truman scratched out the word "Jewish" in the phrase "the new Jewish state" and penciled in "State of Israel."

No way were the Americans ever going to accept a "Jewish" state here in Eretz Yisrael.  And that's why it's clear as day that there is no "atzmaut" here.

After 76 years, it's come down to this - it's them or us.

Just FYI, they treat others this way, too.  John Hudson on "X" today:

In explaining why Niger is kicking out U.S. troops, Niger's prime minister tells @Rachel_Chason that U.S. officials tried to dictate which countries Niger could partner with in a manner he viewed as disrespectful:

He said the Nigerien leaders took particular umbrage at remarks by Molly Phee, the State Department’s top official for African affairs, who he said had urged the government during a March visit to Niamey to refrain from engaging with Iran and Russia in ways objectionable to Washington if Niger wanted to continue its security relationship with the United States. He also said Phee had further threatened sanctions if Niger pursued a deal to sell uranium to Iran.

“When she finished, I said, ‘Madame, I am going to summarize in two points what you have said,’” recounted Zeine, who has led negotiations with the United States. “First, you have come here to threaten us in our country. That is unacceptable. And you have come here to tell us with whom we can have relationships, which is also unacceptable. And you have done it all with a condescending tone and a lack of respect.”

In response to Zeine’s comments, a U.S. official said: “The message ... was a coordinated U.S. government position, delivered in a professional manner, in response to valid concerns about developments in Niger. The CNSP was presented with a choice, not an ultimatum, about whether they wished to continue their partnership with us, respectful of our democratic values and national security interests.

PM Netanyahu could take lessons from these guys.

  1. Many people believe Harry Truman was such a tzaddik towards the Jewish people, they even named a street after him here in Israel. The truth was that he was a nasty Anti - Semite and the only reason why he recognized the "state of Israel" was because Hashem orchestrated that his former business partner Eddie Jacobson ( A Jew) who had access to Truman in the White House convinced Truman to recognize the state of Israel after meeting with Chaim Weizmann.

    1. All he had to do was explain the facts of life to Truman. It will be of great benefit to the US. You can't control the Arabs, but you can control the Jews. And oh how much benefit has it been to the US to be in charge here!!

  2. And also about how Yosef was sold out by his own brothers...
Some say MBY is a generation. Well, we Yosefs have many brothers and most have sold us out.

  5. Why would such a thing from a U. S. president have corrections on it? Why wouldn't it have been re-typed? It looks bad. Was it his staff, maybe who did this? Truman's State Dept. was against the recognition. And the U. S. State Dept. has been against us ever since.

    1. It looks to me like an initial response was drafted and brought for his approval, which he gave with his own corrections. It was a draft, ergo pencil corrections. It would have been kept alongside a clean corrected copy as nothing to do with the president was thrown away. It was archived.
