Information which has been kept secret for years is now coming out in an ever-growing, ever-strengthening stream that threatens to become a killer tidal wave for American Jews. Some readers might be offended by my assertion, but it would be irresponsible of me not to point out what I see as a mortal threat to fellow Jews. I just don't know what it is going to take to get the message across.
For weeks now, the US media has been unrelenting in its reportage, one after another, of prominent and powerful men being exposed as predators and harassers of women with no horrific detail being spared.
With yesterday's very public firing of a popular national television morning show host (Jewish father, non-Jewish mother), it feels like the tide is going to turn into a tsunami; one-inch red headlines on the popular Drudge Report for the past 24 hours being any indication.
I am convinced these are signs to American Jews to get out of Edom, even as we read in this week's haftarah about it's eventual utter destruction. If you don't keep up with this sort of "news," and I actually hope you don't (I wish I didn't), you may be completely unaware of how many Jewish "names" are involved. The gentile world has certainly taken notice and they don't distinguish between those with Jewish mothers and those with only a Jewish father (or even one with only a Jewish-sounding name).
Here is only one example of the kind of thing that is being repeated across cyberspace every day now...
- Yet another KIKE... Anyone connecting the dots yet?!?!?!
- Jews, Jews, Jews in the news. Lauer, Franken, Weiner, Weinstein, Epstein, Kreisberg, Ratner. Truly exceptional . . . sexual predators.
And that is the mildest of the lot on just one site reporting.
- Are these people inherently corrupt because of their Jewishness, or is the Jewishness incidental to their corruption?
We have been warned time and again that antisemitism is going to rise to unbelievable levels in America. Believe it. Act now to protect yourself and your family while you still can. And God help us all!
I agree with everything you say here. Our time is up and with every new Drudge headline, I feel sick to my stomach for what I believe is coming. There's a problem though... as much as I feel a great urgency to get out of Edom, my wonderful wife simply doesn't feel the same urgency. Perhaps it's my in-depth study of hashgacha and hashkafah, Tanach, midrash, etc that gives me a bit more insight than her, but for whatever reason she has more of wait and see approach. There are many American Jews just like me that know and feel everything you do about the matzav, but for legitimate reasons can't leave. And I'm not even using the classic "parnasah" or "security" excuse. It's simply a matter of shalom bayis! If I press the matter too much, it doesnt bode well. I've tried framing it in many different ways, even getting to her to sit in on an NBN meeting, but gornisht. As a woman, do you have any advice for me dealing with a wife who doesnt feel the urgency as I do? Please help, this is tearing me apart. We also have 4 young children I'd like to keep safe.
ReplyDeletePikuach nefesh comes before shalom bayit, does it not? I think if you really believed this was a matter of life and death, if you could see the flames of a wildfire approaching your house, you would move your family and then "wait and see." You can always daven for your wife to change her mind or to forgive you after the fact. You can remind her of what happened to the Jews of Europe who took the "wait and see" approach. You could have her read this. That's all I got.
DeleteThink about your children. Where are they going to school? High School? Who will they marry? The clincher for us was not being able to find a High School for our Daughter. The result was Aliyah and 7 years later they both graduated from High School.
DeleteUnfortunately, without Torah the JEWISH MALE (al pi haTorah) stumbles in: minority in illicit behavior, majority in theft (in matters of business), and everyone stumbles in the dust of lashon harah. So this is our history.
ReplyDeleteEven the macho middle-eastern Israeli stumbles in the same things, especially in politics.
Nir ben Artzi has many times indicated that those who do will be exposed, but first given a chance to do teshuva. So, we see with our own eyes what is happening.
What is your source "al pi haTorah" in this regard?
DeleteBava Bathra 165a, and is quoted in Mesilat Yesharim (p 111) by Moshe Chayim Luzzatto. (Feldheim edition 1969, translation by Shraga Silverstein). Will that do?
ReplyDeleteYes, thanks. Someone was bound to ask. ;-)
DeleteIts in Chapter X, Concerning the Trait of Cleanliness, if you want to look it up.
ReplyDeleteWe have to remember too that many who have powerful positions in the media and entertainment (& even gov. positions_ are liberal Jews, meaning they really have no connection to being Jews, but, of course, that means nothing to the non-Jew because we are all lumped into one. Also, there are many being caught in this 'exposure' who are not Jews, but they are either not so high-profile or it's always better to show the 'Jews' are the bad guys. The main point is power corrupts absolutely!

ReplyDeleteJeremiah 16:16
16 Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they shall fish them; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the clefts of the rocks.
your words are words of truth. Hashem Yerachem Alenu.
ReplyDeleteAs i've mentioned previously, for me, it's a choice of 6 of 1 and 1/2 dozen of other. Because the process of moving to E"Y in my state of health would break my already-handicapped body further. Imagine someone who's immobile with nobody to take care of her.
ReplyDeleteSo.. just like in the long-ago book 20/20 Vision by Neuberger, where some people needed to remain behind (in apocalyptic America) due to their incapacitated status, that's my situation as well. May G-d have mercy on me, and others in similar situations.
