This catch-phrase coined by the Trump Presidential Election Campaign is nothing less than a call for reinvigorating the flawed concepts of Pax Americana and American Exceptionalism. There were also some clear allusions to it in President Trump's Inauguration Speech:
(Excerpts)
...Together we will determine the course of America and the world for many, many years to come. ...We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example. We will shine for everyone to follow. ...At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America, and through our loyalty to our country, we will rediscover our loyalty to each other. When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice. The Bible tells us how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity. ...We are protected, and we will always be protected. We will be protected by the great men and women of our military and law enforcement and most importantly, we will be protected by God.Historically, America has imagined itself fulfilling the role and mission and destiny of Israel. But, no matter how much they may try, it is simply impossible, because they were never spiritually equipped to do it. Creating a new religion loosely based on ours does not give them the right or the ability.
President Trump wants to recreate the America of his youth - in the Golden Age of the 1950s. But, those days are gone forever. America's ego never allowed it to think of itself as Israel's equal or partner. It had to see itself as superior - in every way. It has styled itself both as Israel's protector and Israel's mentor (to put it nicely). But, those days are over, too. The world is already beating a path to Israel's door for technological and scientific advancement and more and more the world is interested in hearing what the Torah has to say about every subject of human existence.
Israel holds the true light. Anyone following anything else will lose their way. Israel is rising and so Eisav, of necessity, must step down. It doesn't sound to me like the new president would be at all amenable to doing so, but reality has a way of asserting itself regardless of whether we are ready for it or not.
