A massive line of storms packing hail, lightning and tree-toppling winds rolled through the Midwest Wednesday evening driving people into basements for shelter, tearing down power lines and causing flooding in low-lying areas.
Forecasters predicted that by the time the storms were done, they could affect more than one in five Americans from Iowa to Maryland. ... Tens of thousands of people across the Upper Midwest lost power.
Millions in path of storm system as it pushes east
Devastating winds, hail and even tornadoes were forecast for the East Coast on Thursday, caused by a massive storm system that tormented the Midwest a day earlier.
Flood warnings were in effect for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, while severe thunderstorms are also possible in the South and Southeast.
Roughly 62 million Americans are in the path of severe weather, MSNBC Meteorologist Bill Karins said. The worst of it could be in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Richmond, Va., and Philadelphia.
Nearly 100 homes burned as fires rage in Colo.
The Black Forest Fire is reported to have grown to some 12,000 acres and remains out of control near Colorado Springs this morning as dozens of properties have been reduced to rubble.

With seemingly endless scandals rocking the country, economic malaise spreading across the world, and super powers positioning their military assets on the grand chessboard, one can’t help but notice that the entire planet is devolving into complete insanity.
Uncertainty is at such a level that it’s impossible to know what happens next.
These people – our leaders, the purported best and brightest members of politics, finance, and industry – have brought us to the brink. What we are witnessing is a complete destabilization of our socio-economic systems and the rule of law, and it’s being fueled by pandemonium in the upper echelons of the global power structure.
It was quite a display yesterday.
