Conference of Presidents baffled by US refusal to release Jonathan Pollard

It's not that difficult to understand.  Eisav soneh et Ya'aqov. And nobody else in our generation, besides the CIA-assassinated Rabbi Meir David Kahane, Hy"d, has demonstrated the pure mesirut nefesh for Klal Yisrael that Yehonatan Pollard has done.

That's why this hateful, spiteful, vengeful, unforgiving people will never do him any "favors."  They will surely be rewarded midah k'neged midah.

  1. When I wrote Shimon Peres on Jonathan Pollard; Esther Pollard Responds just over six years ago, I received the following comment, which I chose not to publish at the time:

""Inquiring minds" who want to know should do a little thinking. Twenty-eight year old secrets are irrelevant in today's high paced world of lighting fast information transfers. Twenty -eight year old intel is outdated and useless. Now "inquiring minds", ask yourself what could Jonathan Pollard know or tell after 28 years in prison that would make a difference to anyone? The question itself is ridiculous. Maybe it is time for "inquiring minds" to look at what Pollard represents, not what he knows. Even the intel people and senior US officials have had enough and want Pollard released. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5e_OqB0lQeM&noredirect=1 Finally, "inquiring minds" and like-minded friends should do a little cheshbon ha'nefesh to confront whether it is easier to ask irrelevant questions than it is to get involved, heart and soul, in the mitzvah of pidyan shvuyim. Be aware that this outlook is what delays redemption for all."

I wanted to think that this person wanted to work toward Pollard's release, and believed that such questions might harm his chances. But, now, I'm not so sure.

    1. I don't understand. Why do you doubt that this person had good intentions? What questions?

    2. I was wondering why (see original post) this person didn't want anyone asking any questions about why they wouldn't release Pollard. I suggested that they didn't want him released because he still had secrets no one wanted to have revealed. I still believe that might be the case.

  2. Read some years ago that it was the 'vulture' who was against his release even more than the US. But, it is strange that it still remains a problem (maybe it's just same old outright antisemitism). Praying that soon Moshiach will be here, which will be the answer to all the tzarot.

  3. Israeli Leftists come out just in time to try and thwart any chance of Pollard's release from parole restrictions...

President Trump: We Israelis are begging you to stop interfering in our elections

...two weeks ago, in advance of the upcoming third elections, Trump unveiled his so-called “deal of the century” peace plan, again giving major concessions to Israel and crediting Netanyahu for the “achievement.” And he may not be finished; there are sources that claim that Jonathan Pollard, a former Israeli spy held by the U.S., might be released to Israel — just in time for the coming election.

This interference is harmful for our democracy,....
