Rain and Storms Out of Season Are NOT a Brachah!!

16 Tishrei 5780
1st Day Chol HaMoed Sukkot
Moadim l'Simchah

A week before Rosh Hashanah I wrote the following: "You can't view those videos and not shake in your boots at what God must be about to bring upon us."  (HERE)

On Shabbat Shuvah, out-of-season rain and hail fell on Israel unexpectedly and without warning.

The first day of Sukkot was as hot as a usual day in July and by nightfall, there was an electrical storm the likes of which I have never seen in my 24 years living in Israel.  Only two or three times did we ever even get a passing rain shower to wet the sukkah decorations.  And I thought that was an expression of Hashem's displeasure.

The Avodah Zarah in Eretz Yisrael increases to intolerable levels during the week of Sukkot as Christians from around the world invade our Holy Land and Holy City with their tumah.

On Yom Chamishi, 3rd Day of Chol HaMoed Sukkot (Thursday, Oct. 17), they will be parading it through the streets.

Definitely not a bracha - 5 members of a family were hit by a thunderbolt in the South - all varying levels of injury.

No question it is from Hashem and no question that it is not a reward.

Sharkia, barak, barad, lightning, very heavy rain, all in one.
Let's hope its here to destroy all the avoda zara and only good things will stay, let's pray that all AMO YISRAEL will do tschuva shleima, not much time left. Time of being in BET HA MIKDASH, let's remember that!

Wow! So far, where I am, we've only seen the lightning at a distance and had a lite sprinkle last night. No wind, which is the opposite of usual for this place.

The weather began threatening on motzei Yomtov, Monday night, when thunder and lightning occurred over Jerusalem. Rainfall was reported, and in some areas, the precipitation was accompanied by strong winds, downing and destroying many sukkas in Jerusalem and other areas including Beit Shemesh. Strong rainfall was reported in the northern Negev as well and it appears to be moving to the center of the country. (Source)

The volatile weather earlier caused two sukkahs — makeshift huts used during the Jewish festival of Sukkot — to catch fire in the ultra-Orthodox city of Beitar Illit in the West Bank. Reports said strong winds had likely carried sparks from brush fires that broke out. Police temporarily closed several streets and disconnected them from electricity to contain the blaze. (Source)

Many many sukkos has been ruined, some of them flue away in the north, an hour ago.

I would appreciate hearing from others who have been in Israel for a substantial period of time to comment on how bizarre or not bizarre this current situation is.

Quoting Tehillim: "That which is wondrous in our eyes is from Hashem."

Really sorry to hear that, Leah.

WOW! What's the source for that?

B"D twenty years in Israel and counting, I was in the Modiin area today, and the weather was off the walls, you could feel the electricity in the air. Thunder, lightening, hail, torrential rain. I don't recall any such weather on Succot.

For anyone who understands French, I strongly recommend Rav Ron Chaya's shiurim.

He brings from the Zohar, that there will be a Jewish country for seventy years after which there will be a period of flux for up to two years, which we are obviously in now, without a real government and then Moshiach will come. Be"D bekarov memash!

Thank you for that, Elisheva!

The unseasonal storm that struck Israel mid-day on Tuesday rocked the mostly Charedi community of Har Yona in the Galilee. The community, located near the cities of Nof HaGalil and Nazareth, sees strong winds on a regular basis. Residents built their sukkos knowing that strong winds are common in the community where many buildings are still under construction.

On Sunday evening, a storm began that saw some of the Sukkos in the community destroyed over the first night of Yom Tov. Families whose Sukkos were destroyed were invited to eat at the Shul’s sukkah in the Belzer Beis Medrash.

On Tuesday, as the storm hit its peak and torrential rains poured down across Eretz Yisroel, all of the sukkos in the community were destroyed. Many pergolas, as well as steel enforced balcony covers, were also destroyed by the strong winds and rain. After the storm passed, more than 200 sukkahs were completely destroyed. Chief Rabbi of Nof HaGalil Rabbi Yona Herzl, who lives in the community said that he has not seen a storm cause damage like this in the more than 40 years that he has been a resident of the city. Rabbi Herzl’s Sukkah was also destroyed.

...The destruction of Sukkos was not limited to Har Yonah. Sukkos were reported destroyed in cities such as Sderot, Netanya and Herzliya.

This is surely a sign of the coming of Moshiach soon and because H' is angry at all that is going on in Eretz HaKodesh in the last 20 years or so, such as the desecration of the Shabbat, the toeivah parades and flaunting of such evil and the allowing of notzriut/avodah zorah; these things never happened before to such an extent in these last 70 years. H' yerachem!
